It was super badass to tie it in to Super Metroid. Also I played this when it came out and never noticed the dedicated to Iwata. That's awesome. This game was so good I won't what happened to the people behind it.

just a quick point, I don't think that they could remake any future games with the same impact. fusion would need better graphics to re capture the feeling of the game being scary and super metroid is too slimier to am2r's engine. they could change things but their game play engine feels iconic and changing it would loose the charm that am2r has

there is a metal version of the queen fight theme on youtube that is awesome. I recommend you convert that video to mp3 then convert the mp3 to a .ogg file and replace the queen theme in your am2r files by naming it exactly the same as the old queen theme. It makes the queen fight EPIC! especially if you power bomb the queen right as the track hits it's last note. just try it.

You *can* find it on TH-cam, *or* (better idea) you can download it for free and not waste bandwidth/need an internet connection for it all the time. They also made a second (even better imo) album called "HoaH: 101% Run". Nearly every source track from the Metroid series that didn't get an arrangement on the first album gets one in the second album, and (unlike some of the tracks from the first album) they're all pretty good.

Once I get the suit Samus disappears; you can still see the screw attack effect, and other particle effects like speed booster but, other than that you are completely invisible. I had to beat the omega metroids with varia suit taking HUGE amount of damage (it was on hard mode) so yeah. Many people were reporting that as well on the site and now It seems it only affects some people.
If I'm not mistaken, it's a situation where Nintendo pretty much had to issue the takedown notice, as in some regions (USA being a major one) companies can weaken or even lose their intellectual property rights if they don't actively enforce them. At least Nintendo seemed to have a sense of reason to it, letting the original dev finish and release the game before sending the takedown requests some time later. They could have killed the game at a far earlier stage if they wanted to, but seems they wanted it to get out there on the internet, but also enforce their IP rights. And afterward, there's been patches and mods done by other people, as IIRC, the original dev agreed to stop development as per the takedown notice.
How nice of the devs to let the player fire some fucking missiles while being in the queen's maw. Played blind on hard and shit like this should be a cutscene, not a quick time event without showing you what button to press.
Don't think it will happen. They remade this game cause it was on Gameboy and not played much. Also it was all monochromatic. Super Metroid is still enjoyed to this day. It still makes money (before Switch made it free on their service) so there is no need to remake it. it's considered one of the best games of all time and still looks and feels great to play. If they decided to remake it with more content and kept certain things alive (like short charge speed booster, mockball and the wall jump system) then fuck yeah remake it.
Nintendo is so embarrassed that fans can make a better game than they can, that a lawsuit happened. Sad that Nintendo is losing it because of holding on to the pass than seeing what fans want.

I just watched the endboss of the original Metroid 2 and I have to say... this one here is allot worse. It starts at 2:06 ... until 7:46. That's like a good 5 minutes doing the SAME THING over and over and... over. Three full times you need to shoot the mouth, the projectiles it spits and then go to the next spot. So... BORING. If at each of the three steps the the boss would be doing SOMETHING ELSE... but nope. three times the same thing.
Maybe because it's the same game. (And this isn't an exact copy, look at the super missile counter, I have 12, and in the video you mentionned, there is 10 super missiles)
Fuck out of here, I thoroughly played all three Metroid II games and Samus Returns might just be the worst of the three. It was solid but the way they ruined the ending was baffling.
