im trying to install mint too but i can't seem to get it to boot from Linux and goes to bios instead. I followed the steps in the video and i got the installation completed and restarted my pc, but it keeps going in to the bios where instead of a mint boot option there are 2 identical Ubuntu options neither of which works

So i did everything but when i got to the part where you need to reset the laptop and go to bios i realized i dont have the same options as you. I dont see secure boot or anything so i said fine. I try to start my laptop again but it doesnt want to boot with windows anymore only ubuntu. When i boot it with ubuntu it goes through a whole pile of codes and just freezes. Any ideas what to do this is my only laptop btw. And also my bios is rev 3.5 which has no advance options or anything.

i might be 9 months late, **BUT don't worry, I got your back!!** in the uui folder, extract the iso file and just move all of the new files to the root folder THEN, when you restart your laptop/desktop and get into the "boot from efi file" option, choose the one that starts with **UUI** (other ones will **NOT** work) then, go to "/efi/boot/" and you'll find a boot.efi file. **You're welcome!**

It's in "boot" or something along the lines of that. Then at the top there should be an arrow near the very top. Then you use the + or - keys to choose which SSD or HDD to boot off of.

If you are using HP laptop and completed the whole installation but the grub screen never gets displayed ,ie PC directly boots into windows without option for ubuntu,then while the PC is booting press f9 key once every second.a boot options menu shows up . In that list ,select ubuntu.

The bios settings are different but after trying to figure out for sometime in the boot sequence option i found a file where i can browse and insert the file then once done i pressed f12 again and in the UEFI boot option, i found the file. @@OSQ749 yep sorry for the late response. I have absolutely no issues and works smoothly. Since my SSD is old it's takes some time to boot up, other than that I can do any work without problems
@@Ivanamaria99 no i did it on windows 10 and linux mint is really good. since linux has different flavours. the latest ubuntu 20.04 is good only if u have good ram and storage like 4 gigs of ram. it should be more than enough. linux mint uses way less resources compared to the latter. hence, it varies from user to user and the specs of their device. if u want to say generally if ubuntu is better, then 'YES'.but.. only with recommended specs else it will crash

unfortunately did not work for me as I did not have the option to boot from file in my lenovo bios.
Don't go in BIOS
go in the boot manager
by pressing the F10 key while the system is booting.

Your windows security software is not letting that happen.. you'll have to disable the part where it stops the program from changing memory

Fat32 will be available only if partition is less than 32 gb. If its greater it will be NTFS. User third party tools to convert NTFS to Fat32

i did everything but the partition don't show upin the boot options any idea or tips on how i can fix this
