i broke both versions of the 45 in the early 90s i had sent them to john manship telling him he would love them around the same time i released a comp of rarer australian funk soul called Heading in the right direction on new and groovy rercords through mushroom and released in the states on vinyl on luv & haight records out of san francisco, ,when the album Moving along came out in 1977 black stations were starting to play Be there in the morning but renee kicked up a fuss and wanted her face on the cover and once they found out she was white it stopped being played, at the end of the day who cares what color she is shes an australian icon an a soulful one at that
Brilliant! I've been playing the *** off this tune for weeks. I've been listening to jazz soul and funk since the 1970's and I'd never heard this song or Renee Geyer before. She should've got more recognition - such a fluid and melodic voice - so talented.
I found this jam a year ago from another page it was on a mix. Today I decided to look up the singer and these comments told me this was a European women. I love this for her and us❣
She was 'too hot' to handle for promoters. She would put them all in their place if they tried to make her into a Barbie doll type. Killer performer...the SHIZZ !!!
I like this tune, in fact it's the best version I've heard including the Norman Connors version in my opinion. I wanted to find out more about the singer ... and then found out she was in court for racially abusing a hotel receptionist ... what a shame!
Just discovered her today at tiktok so I’m immersing in her music now. She’s GRRRREAT!
Agreed. Same reason I'm here 😂
Australia’s finest

Love Renee Geyer ever since I was at Primary School. Always great hearing her old songs
The 6 people that dislike this have no business being here anyway! Now go back listening to Justin Bieber!

@@alexblake4594 that it’s my opinion is stating the obvious perhaps? Had a bad day? Feeling confrontational? 😹
