N'jobu was so tunnel-visioned about helping black people throughout the diaspora, that he failed to consider the ramifications of distributing vibranium all over. In particular, those very people selling drugs and engaging in gun violence getting ahold of vibranium based weapons. And what about sellouts handing it over to governments? As much as I loved the actors who played T'chaka-John and Atandwa Kani-who were father and son-I always thought it was a wasted opportunity that they did not cast Djimon Hounsou as T'chaka. He had voiced T'challa himself in animated adaptations a couple of times and his presence as T'chaka would have been insane. Also, T'chaka's black panther suit? Uff. Too damn good.
Djimon Honsou was already in GOTG. And while we do have actors play multiple roles, it's normally not major ones. Like we had that actress go from ayong a Kree to playing an Eternal. But she was blue skinned as a Kree. Honestly if Djimon had gone with the blue skin as his character is supposed to have in the comics in the first place, then he could have easily been in Black Panther in some roles.
It's insane how much he looks and sounds just like his dad. Mind blowing, and the craziest part is how similar he looked to Chadwick, with the same head and facial hairstyles. He could always play Prince T'Challa, with his regular hair color.
I've theorized for a while that BP2 will center around the kings and queens of Wakanda's past, and it's a story that is told to Shuri as she ascends to the throne after T'Challa's death. I cannot see what kind of a story could continue without T'Challa in the present day, but if they go backwards, that could be fascinating and also honor Chadwick and begin Shuri's story as the Black Panther.

@@RobinXlone His brother allowed a terrorist and criminal to steal the wealth of his country and murder innocent people. A king's duty is to his people, N'jobu is as responsible to killing those people as T'chaka was to protecting them.
You know the clever thing about the opening of this scene? The beginning takes place in Oakland, CA, which is the birthplace of the original Black Panther party. And, the year is 1992, which was when the L.A. riots broke out.
My theater was dead silent during the opening scene. Actually for almost the whole film. And tbh, I ,personally, would love to see a standalone T’Chaka Black Panther movie. He was awesome in “What If?” And honestly it’d be interesting to see young T’Chaka Black Panther have his own standalone film.
Do you think he would still kill his own brother in that timeline ? Or could things go better in that reality ? I mean, without Bucky, H.Y.D.R.A is sure to recruit. They might go after this guy and Claw for an alliance, even if there's the risk of betrayal. But, unlike his son, the guy seems to trust more.
And yet he is just as responsible for their deaths. He gave Klaue the instructions and knew where to strike, he left his people on the butcher's table for them to be slaughtered.
Okay, but honesty I think protecting Zuri was just an excuse because you see he easily keeps him from shooting Zuri, he did not have to stab him after. He was angry at his brother for the betrayal, maybe didn't want to deal with the fallout or the council possibly sympathizing with his brother, or being challenged for the throne by him, ect. There's nothing in this scene that indicates to me that stabbing his brother was the only way to save Zuri. He chose to kill his brother and abandon his nephew.
and that little to no care for his own brother's life, and choosing a random spy over his brother, adds to his brothers point that Tchaka and wakanda dont care about other black people throughout the world and what they go thru. If u care so little about your brother that you would kill him, i believe him when he says you dont care about black ppl
I love how the 2 female warriors enter N'Jobus appartement and ask HIM what his name is. I mean, wouldn't it be the other way around? Like imagine they knocked on the wrong door...😂
The stunned look on N’Jobu’s face may have been 100% acting, but I think he genuinely didn’t know that Klaue’s theft of vibranium would take innocent Wakandan lives, and he felt guilty.
The scene actually hits harder when you hear what the guys were actually planning before T'Chaka arrived. According to the director, Ryan Coogler,, N'Jobu's wife was arrested and sentenced to prison for life. N'Jobu and "James" (Zuri) were actually planning on breaking his wife out. This also plays heavily into why N'Jobu was radicalized from the hardships the black people faced. That's why we never see Killmonger's mother.
So klaue had the vibranium since 1992? Why was he sitting on it till age of ultron? A quarter tonne isn’t that much even if it’s a third the weight of steel, he could’ve sold it easily by then.
he's Not a *SCIENTIST* so Klaue doesn't know how to forge it properly and it's very expensive no buyer can afford it also he knew the true Wakanda are capable of so he decided to hide it
Yeah there was no guarantee that T’Chaka was planning on pulling Zuri out. He was supposed to be some sort of criminal. Bowing randomly to some random wouldn’t fit into the ‘tough guy’ persona he was playing.
Love this scene it literally is a reflection of the ideologies of MLK and Malcom X. N’Jobu was so wrong for pulling a gun on T’Chaka too but T’Chaka didn’t have to kill him
I think the fact that N’Jobu dies to stab wounds could be symbolic of the violence and knife crime that takes place in those areas Really backs up his point
The reason Tchaka was ruthless is because he's seen the villains who would destroy Wakanda. Tchaka was a king and diplomat and he's seen The Red Skull, Modok and many others and he knew that if they found out about vibranium then it would be game over.
I took this to be a representation of greek mythology, when Prometheus stole fire from the gods to give to mankind and had to pay the price for it, but however, Prometheus' motives were for the greater good of mankind. As N'jobu's are for the greater good of his people
I have never said this but as a young South African. I have always been taken by how Atwanda Khani just commands the screen as a young T’Chaka paralleled Chad’s T’challa so well with this scene!
Know that I’ve seen this scene again;you could say T’chaka killed his brother to protect zuri who N’Jobu had drawn his weapon on.T’chaka already said N’Jobu would return to Wakanda and face trial for his crimes.
Murdered his own brother, then left his brothers body for his son to find....& left that son in the hood in Oakland, with nothing but sorrow & hatred....T’Challa said it best, “what kind of a king...what kind of a man...’

Erik would have grown up resenting the royal family and treated as the son of a traitor but otherwise have enjoyed a privileged life in Wakanda.
The best case scenario is if T'Chaka brought both N'Jobu and his son back. Which he could have done. Easily. No difficulty at all. He had already disarmed the guy. Plunging his razor sharp panther claws into his brother was not necessary. Just slap some cuffs on him and kidnap the boy outside. Problem solved. If you're feeling extra generous break the boy's mother out of jail and take her to Wakanda too.
@@thembanitheone he didnt kill him in self defense he killed him for no good reason
They would become greedy for more of it, and could ultimately discover Wakanda.
He did say Wakanda was going to rule over the world, i think arming people and causing mass destruction would have made the world to unite against Wakanda and i do not think they could have won.

More than you think, plus that was just around the city. The rest of the country was free game.
I don’t think N’jobu’s plan was to simply pass out vibranium weapons to random people out on the street “selling drugs and engaging in gun violence...” He did say “and Wakanda could rule them all the right way.” He probably had a more sophisticated plan than that.
@@aristeed3895
Sophisticated does not mean intelligent. People usualy react badly to force. In all likelyhood he was only spreading Wakandan tech around for others to study. Secrecy was part of Wakanda's defences and he was going to cmprimise them.

The way these guys can switches from American to wakandan is art

1:35 You gotta love how John Kani's son actually sounds a bit like James Earl Jones for that briefest moment. I bet that was intentional.
It is. I think the son is a big fan of Darth Vader and Star Wars which I am too and it is nothing to be ashamed of.
I like how at 1:35 and 1:43 to 1:45, T'Chaka's voice sounds like he's in a theatre room or something, and I like that.
The voice of a King speaking to his subjects in comparison to a brother speaking to another brother.
No it was perfect ❤
It's insane how much he looks and sounds just like his dad. Mind blowing, and the craziest part is how similar he looked to Chadwick, with the same head and facial hairstyles. He could always play Prince T'Challa, with his regular hair color.
But the James to Zuri twist was actually classy...
Plus the accent change.

You know the clever thing about the opening of this scene? The beginning takes place in Oakland, CA, which is the birthplace of the original Black Panther party. And, the year is 1992, which was when the L.A. riots broke out.
I am sure both were deliberate narrative choices by the producers and directors
The drum beat in the background was so haunting.
Yes, and perfectly suited to the context.
I think it would be interesting to see a movie with T’Chaka during his time as king and the black panther
Rip chadwick
King of wakanda
I would love a Disney+ Mini series on T'Chaka's time as King during the 70-90s. That would be cool to see
Old T’Chaka and Young T’Chaka are father and son in real life
Also Old Zuri and Young Zuri
That's not true. I wish people would stop saying that. Denzel Whitaker and Forest Whitaker are not father and son.
But, unlike his son, the guy seems to trust more.
imagine somebody turning off all the lights in your house at night and popping up in your room wearing that suit. i'd have a heart attack on the spot
OK but I love T'Chaka's panther suit. It looks so cool.
His face when he learns that lives were lost shows that was not part of the plan.
And yet he is just as responsible for their deaths. He gave Klaue the instructions and knew where to strike, he left his people on the butcher's table for them to be slaughtered.
He probably thought Klaue would detonate a bomb as a means of escaping the barrier, and didn't think he'd use it to kill anyone
I love this movie it just has a different feel from normal marvel movies
N’Jobu reaction to Zuri being a spy was priceless 😂 😂
I love how the 2 female warriors enter N'Jobus appartement and ask HIM what his name is. I mean, wouldn't it be the other way around? Like imagine they knocked on the wrong door...😂

@@Korigetsu1991 No they are not!
I'd love to see a prequel movie of King T'Chaka's time on the throne.
The stunned look on N’Jobu’s face may have been 100% acting, but I think he genuinely didn’t know that Klaue’s theft of vibranium would take innocent Wakandan lives, and he felt guilty.
This is what black panther would've been a movie in the 90s, true fact
I think no one bought it because it is expensive
No he had it since 1989 not 1992.
I think he kept as he knew the wakandans were searching for it
he's Not a *SCIENTIST* so Klaue doesn't know how to forge it properly and it's very expensive no buyer can afford it also he knew the true Wakanda are capable of so he decided to hide it
Keep in mind, whenever he sells Vibranium, the Wakandans are on him instantly.
1:30 First I thought Zuri never know who is King T'Chaka
2:59 Zuri , Son of Badhu
1:32 N'Jobu : Get down James
Even though he was undercover he had to play up the ACT until he got the King's permission
Yeah there was no guarantee that T’Chaka was planning on pulling Zuri out. He was supposed to be some sort of criminal. Bowing randomly to some random wouldn’t fit into the ‘tough guy’ persona he was playing.
Extra heart breaking when you hear killmonger call him Uncle James
Greatest scene in the MCU.
Love this scene it literally is a reflection of the ideologies of MLK and Malcom X. N’Jobu was so wrong for pulling a gun on T’Chaka too but T’Chaka didn’t have to kill him
I know right!! T’Chaka is a total psycho
He pulled a gun on “James”
I think the fact that N’Jobu dies to stab wounds could be symbolic of the violence and knife crime that takes place in those areas
Really backs up his point
gosh, sterling is such a fantastic actor. everyone was on their a-game in this movie, but he’s such a presence.
I like how Marvel show " there is no Perfect king " as we can see here in t'chaka and in Ragnarok where they explain odin Past
There should be no kings at all- no gods, no kings; only man
The reason Tchaka was ruthless is because he's seen the villains who would destroy Wakanda. Tchaka was a king and diplomat and he's seen The Red Skull, Modok and many others and he knew that if they found out about vibranium then it would be game over.
Maybe not game over but a harder task for Wakanda to stay as prosperous as they’ve been.
I took this to be a representation of greek mythology, when Prometheus stole fire from the gods to give to mankind and had to pay the price for it, but however, Prometheus' motives were for the greater good of mankind. As N'jobu's are for the greater good of his people
