I love Baby Yoda and I didn't expected the Mandalorian to be such an awesome father, the interactions between M. and B.Y. are magic. In principle I never watch science fiction, yet in this special case I have to surrender completely. 💗
Dr. Grande, I'd love to see you do one on Anakin Skywalker. I find it interesting how someone can go from being an innocent boy who wants to be a hero and help others to an evil Sith lord who kills children and terrorizes the galaxy. Also after the Mandalorian season 2 finale (without giving spoilers), I've been doing some thinking about attachment theory and Baby Yoda. Just a couple ideas. I love your videos!
Thank you for your input Dr. Grande. Baby Yoda… Got me shakin’ like a soda 🙂 Actually, Mandalorian character puts me in mind of Roland inStephen King’s Dark Tower/Gunslinger novels. Yes, Clint Eastwood too. He does sound like him a bit also.
Dr. Grande has done an interesting serie about the Five Factor Model. He explains each five factor and also the six facets of these factors in the vids. You can find these vids in his playlist 'The Five Factor Model of Personality'. It's really worth watching 😃🇳🇱
Slight correction: when Dr. Grande is talking about the “Expanded Universe” he means Star Wars canon outside the films. The Expanded Universe is now referred to as Star Wars Legends. And Legends is essentially Star Wars media that is pre-Disney stuff that is not Ep I-VI or The Clone Wars).
I really love your videos. My husband and I often ‘analyze’ characters of books, shows & Movies with the systems of Dungeons and Dragons. If you are unaware of this it’s pretty simple. Characters have a moral alignment. It can range lawful, chaotic or neutral. Then another range is good, chaotic or evil. There will be a blend of these. Example: so OB1 Kenobi would be lawful good. Han Solo would be chaotic good. Death Vader is lawful evil. The most fascinating characters IMO are neutral characters. Then there’s character class which would be rogue, fighter, bard, paladin, ranger, monk, assassin, etc. I would classify Luke Skywalker as a monk. I would classify Boba Fett as an assassin. My husband are huge fans of fantasy & sci-fi entertainment. Analyzing this way is something we truly enjoy.
I would love to see you breakdown the character Amos from The Expanse. There's a lot of debate as to whether he's not some kind of high-functioning sociopath or simply someone suffering from severe trauma that affects his ability to make moral decisions and empathize as easily as most people. I would love to hear an analysis of this character from the perspective of a professional!
I love that you did one on this! :) Great series. The main character reminds me of Clint Eastwood from the Westerns too. I don't know why, but it made me smile so much hearing you say "baby Yoda"!
Yes. Very interesting. I have not been watching it (not a Disney+ subscriber) but saw Star Wars in 1978 when I was 14. The show is a bright stop in the Star Wars library after the Prequels and Sequels. Best thing since Rogue One is what I hear. The character seems to check all the expected boxes. Dangerous and mysterious but also following a moral code which protects the innocent.
Hi Todd, I see that you occasionally do videos on certain criminals and explain their mindset. I would really appreciate if you could sometime in the future do the same about Ed Kemper.
Clicked so fast 🙃 the show is pretty awesome and glad to see you doing these types of videos. Do you accept requests? I'd love to see you do Mommy Dearest and how it portrayed the actress and her personality.
I would be very interested to hear your assessment of characters from the series HANNIBAL. I'm rewatching that, with my dad in quarentine, and we're wondering how a therapist or psychiatrist would feel about the cynical nightmare inducing portrayals of a doctor-patient dynamics gone wrong haha. But also, things like how realistic is the "psychic driving" technique, and the extreme empathy abilities of Will Graham affected by his traumatic exposure to gruesome crimes at the FBI, and his brain conditions, *Anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis.*
The comparison of The Mandalorian with Clint Eastwood is an interesting observation, as the English actor who portrayed Boba Fett in The Empire Strikes Back (and not the Kiwi actor who redubbed his voice later) said in an interview (iirc) that his movements as Boba Fett were inspired by Clint Eastwood in his Westerns, and he sought to portray the same kind of menace and economy of movement.
Dr. Grande, love your reviews! I just viewed the Netflix series based on a true story - Dirty John and found it twisted but fascinating. Debra Meehan seemed almost as crazy (disordered;) as her predator. What do you think?
just makes me want to ask how these factors would compare with something like a metastudy of common factor analysis between various disorders, conditions, and more temporary issues. It occurs to me that many of the people with like these "batman style" traits, would have a high frequency of occurrence between certain depression types, some sleep disorder and similar troubles, as well as maybe some general relationship problems. Hmm... oh well, nerd things to ponder over.
Would love your thoughts on the Law and Order: Special Victims Unit episode Conscience (season 6, episode 6) in regards to how accurate their portrayal of a child sociopath is (or could be) in real life
DrGrande. I am curious about the latest trend in TH-cam video of blackhead and cyst extractions. My question is. Why do i watch this stuff? I missed one of your presentations lost in pimple popping videos Is this a natural instict in all humans and some animals to groom eachother ? I know its really weird. But i have to ask what you think of this trend. Because you know human nature so well. At least by DSM Ststs. 🥰💛Dr Grande
hi, im interested in psychology as a hobby, im currently deciding to buy something of Jung, would you recommend the Red book or a colletion of his works on psychoterapy and dreaming, both books are bix and about 40 bucks so i wonder wich one to get
You are making me feel old I was in high school in 78. I've never heard of this show may have to check it out just cuz your video thank you You forgot about Christine LOL but I get it
Maybe this has been said, but the character of the mandalorian reminds me of Roland in the Dark Tower saga, written by Stephen King. I see a lot of similarities
I wonder if the rarer MBTI types interested you, the INxJ and ENxP types. These people are more than a little bit 'different', from their own perspective and from others.
I am nowhere near a fan of Star Wars. The only reason I ever watched Star Wars is because my son enjoys it. Although many people try to make a comparison of Star Wars and Star Trek, there really isn't any. I am a Star Trek fan, (mostly the original series). The Next Generation books are a bit better than the TV series. So, back to the Mandalorian. It is probably my second favorite TV series right not, just below Better Call Saul. I find The Mandalorian to be more of a western as the Dr. related him to many of Clint Eastwood characters in many of his movies, Westerns or not. The Mandalorian is a better Batman than Batman is. The storylines are not very sophisticated, but they are well written and must more of an adult story style than regular Star War episodes, which I find juvenile. I really didn't get the James Bond comparison. You guessed it, I am not a James Bond fan either. Get Smart was a better James Bond than James Bond is. I see James Bond as the juvenile side of James T. Kirk.
I like your merchandise logo a lot, but on the back of the t-shirt, another logo could show the balloon in a tree with an axe that says scientific knowledge. Just in case it got tangled up.
Dr. Grande is speaking in a tone full of respect and admiration about a person, let's look, who it is...? Oh, I see it's a FICTIONAL male character, that's why! I have to agree, in comparison to real human characters they tend to have the better personalities. That's why they were invented, I guess. However, you know, that women tend to think in a practical and sometimes shallow way, so do you think this loner would make up a good husband? A bit tinny, I think. Never shows his face, not talkative, low on warmth (obviously!), not too cheerful, low level of trust, thinks that others are dangerous*, leaves out facts (I think I've already had this)... I don't know, Doctor... I prefer the baby-yoda type of person. All things considered I would prefer the ones with the warm bodies and the flawed personalities. Think they call themselves humans. What I do know is that these movie-character analyses are the perfect entry into personality assessment for younger and also older people. Well done. ⭐ * could this be projection?
*wow, I didn't kinow PSYCHOLOGY is capable of explaining Fictional Characters. (( Writers, or even the Ink Panelists are so FIXATED from trying to use PANEL and GUTTER DESIGN to break scenes out in a Visual Componant.)) === This was enough to make me stop and pay attention for a few minutes.
Comment 42: 1136 views. Just finished reading a book where two people were taken hostage in Philippines. Their Muslim captors were a real vile...😫😫😫😫😫🌈😫😫😫😫😫
Dr clearly like this mandalorian/ star wars. Dr you are gorgeous. The more I watch you the more I am falling for you. Hope your not taken as I want to date you
I've never watched a single episode (or even a Star Wars movie) but listening to all this, his helmet troubles me. What if he finally rips it off & he's a body building woman? He he... in this day of epic gender neutral etc rhetoric, that'd be an ace & timely plot twist!
This is the crossover i never knew i wanted
I love psych profiles of my favorite fictional characters. It's fun to watch, and very helpful for me as a writer!
I love that you smiled when saying The Mandalorian. Dr Grande you really are Dr Big.
I love Baby Yoda and I didn't expected the Mandalorian to be such an awesome father, the interactions between M. and B.Y. are magic. In principle I never watch science fiction, yet in this special case I have to surrender completely. 💗
Mandolorian transforming into a DeLorean is something I need to see
The Delorian part really caught me off-guard :) I just laughed so hard that my colleagues in the next room have heard it :)
You work so hard, Dr. Grande. Thank you, as always, for all you do!
This is educational and fun. The comment about if he was a transformer killed me, haha. Your humour sneaks up on me.

lmao hearing dr. grande say the words "baby yoda" made the kill bill sirens go off in my head.... disorienting
Thank you for your input Dr. Grande.
Baby Yoda…

I love the fact that my mental health Godfather is also a starwars nerd like me. Just make me respect him that much more.

Can we please do an analysis of the childhood trauma endured by Baby Yoda next?

Dr Grande groupies 😊Lucky guy.
Interesting & Entertaining
I think they're onto something.
Good job
my head exploded from how nerdy
I would be interested in a video analyzing the personality of Don Draper from the show Madmen!
I love that you did one on this! :)
Great series. The main character reminds me of Clint Eastwood from the Westerns too.
I don't know why, but it made me smile so much hearing you say "baby Yoda"!
Dr. Grande on his very best 😃🇳🇱
lmao
Great video. Very informative. I especially love the part about turning into a Dolorian if the Mandalorian was a Transformer. LOL.

I’m a MA student in counseling. I watch your videos everyday.

Another one I've never heard of! That's 2 in 2 days. You are a wealth of knowledge! Thank you, Dr Grande! 👍🌹
Dr Grande, you never fail to deliver interesting and up to date content! ☺️
Two of my favourite things! Psychology and Mental Health Topics via Dr. Grande and Star Wars! 👏🏽✨🙌🏽
Clicked so fast 🙃 the show is pretty awesome and glad to see you doing these types of videos. Do you accept requests? I'd love to see you do Mommy Dearest and how it portrayed the actress and her personality.
I literally SQUEALED with glee when I saw this video had been posted! 🤗
Ohhh, this is fantastic! 😁
I like these personality profiles.
Keep up the good work!!!

I'll have to send this to my older brother, he LOVES that series!! Great material as always Dr. G!
My favorite Doctor!
Ooooh! First Black Widow trailer and then Dr. Grande discussing Mandalorian! What a great day 🙂
(Double high five)
Great video! It is nice to know that you are a Star Wars fan :) Keep it up!
well that was unexpected . . . I like it!
🇬🇧 first to comment. Looking forward to watching this.💕

This was fascinating. ✌😊
This is the Way...I have spoken.
"If the Mandalorian was a transformer he would transform into a Delorean." So much science. People really will take this channel serious now.
What a fun video idea!
I think the idea resonated from the Spartans. Dr Grande your videos are fun and interesting, informative. I'm in👍
This video was delightful
Hey Doctor Grande, have you read the DarkTower series? Could you 'analyze' Roland?
Dr. Grande, love your reviews! I just viewed the Netflix series based on a true story - Dirty John and found it twisted but fascinating. Debra Meehan seemed almost as crazy (disordered;) as her predator. What do you think?
This video is definitely interesting and helpful.
Nice work!
hes similiar to both deathstroke and punisher
the backstory.
Okay you just got promoted for video topic awards
Holy crap I didn't know Dr Grande cover Mandalorian
Dr Grande officially jumped the Shark with this video
Lovely.❤️

Have you seen the sequel trilogy? I’d love to hear your thoughts about Kylo Ren.
Me too!!! His Carrie Fisher video was really funny
this is gold
I kind of relate to Michael a lot, he reminds me of my bpd
Personality profile on Andrew Cunanan (the spree killer who shot Versace)?
Love your videos but I haven't watched TV in two years. No idea what this is about. I'll catch the next vid. Cheers
Weird flex but ok
More of this!
You are making me feel old I was in high school in 78. I've never heard of this show may have to check it out just cuz your video thank you
You forgot about Christine LOL but I get it
Maybe this has been said, but the character of the mandalorian reminds me of Roland in the Dark Tower saga, written by Stephen King. I see a lot of similarities
you missed the similarity to the Samurai, a key influence in Boba Fett
Can you review Arthur Shelby?
I wonder if the rarer MBTI types interested you, the INxJ and ENxP types. These people are more than a little bit 'different', from their own perspective and from others.
Ever given view on Jungs personality types ?
I would love to see one of Joel from The Last of Us.
Can you do Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker next?
Thank you- baby Yoda 2020
If only he was born here and now, not a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.
Do same thing with Witcher

Baby yoda got me through 2020
baby yoda o.o :)
what about these flashbacks? PTSD?
Damn, and I thought they wouldn't recognize me with the mask on.
I like your merchandise logo a lot, but on the back of the t-shirt, another logo could show the balloon in a tree with an axe that says scientific knowledge. Just in case it got tangled up.
I think Boba Fett pieced his body armor outfit together from here and there scap
I thought his name was mango for some reason
The Devine Baby Yoda.....
B I MacDonald:C
I thought it was a car.
