I go in more depths about the shapes (A-line vs Cupcake for which dresses) in this video here: th-cam.com/video/YGCmxeg3s_s/w-d-xo.html And in this video I compare TaoBao vs TaoBao resellers to by the Aurora and Ariel rainbow petticoat: th-cam.com/video/at0hlJbZg-g/w-d-xo.html
Did you order it from TaoBao? I am curious, the one in picture when I bought it had only two tiers and looked cupcake shaped, but the one I received was 3 tiered and A-line. Did I miss an option when ordering? Did you get yours already?
Oh my goodness girl this video is gold and every new lolita needs to watch it. I can't believe how many amazing things you do for our community. Thank you for both for putting in the hard work of comparing all these petticoats. 🌟
Oh I also forgot. I just received a new hoop petti from clobba. It is the Sentaro Frost Sugar Fishbone. I can send you pictures and information on how it fits if you want to add it to the list. It is a bit pricier but is custom sizable and has a lot of nice features for plus size lolitas in a hot climate.
Thank you so much for acknowledging my work! And thank you for suggesting the Sentaro Frost Sugar Fishbone. I added it to the list and I'll see if I want to order it for myself in the next round.
Thank you for this amazing review and all your hard work !!! Petti are so hard to choose , even more when you're plus size because there's nothing more inconvenient than a waistband that's killing you all day long :D ! The same kind of review about bloomers would be awesome :D
I'm impressed. There was a lot of work and effort put into this video! Buying a petticoat is always a struggle and this video will help so many people! Great job!
Really interesting video, thanks for making it! I was surprised by the MeLikesTea review as I have two of their Rose voile pettis and I really like them, and found them very friendly to deal with. Beautifully made and comfortable, and they fit my specified waist size nicely (which is larger than yours) so I don't need to use the drawstring. I also have a Black Ribbon Otome petticoat - it too is very well made but I find it uncomfortable to sit in as the hem ruffles dig into my legs when sitting in a chair so I rarely wear it.
This is amazing and so thorough!! I have the last Aurora and Ariel Petticoat but now I'm tempted t get the Rainbow one as well, hahaha! Thank you for this!
Thank you so much! I've been recommended MLT so many times but seeing the way the waistband is situated and how the construction started to unravel is making me change my mind quickly. You're amazing!
I have a specific review about MLT here. Is the Poof Monster from Me Likes Tea the Poofiest Petticoat ever? th-cam.com/video/kOqLx6dcbno/w-d-xo.html I am happy the video was useful for you.
If you are adjusting the boning on the hoopskirt, i reccomend using tape instead of the clear tubing. It's quicker and less dangerous. If you ever want to adjust it, you can always keep a small roll of tape in your purse just in case.
I wished this video was up before I bought my petticoats, fortunately, I think I did good purchases but this video would have saved so much research time xD Thank you so much!!!
This video is going to be passed around in the community for years to come, thank you so much! It's amazing how informative this is. Also yaaay, Aurora and Ariel is the new petticoat mvp!
This is so helpful! And I'm amazed by the crazy amount of work and money you put in this video! Thank you so much for this mega petticoat comparison 😍💜
I'm in love with that AP JSK! Thank you for the wide range reviews. I have a Diamond Honey petticoat a friend gave me. But the waist is too tight so I've been debating on buying a new one or sewing in a new elastic to fit. This is helping me decide if it's worth time or money in a new one. Thank you!!
Yeah! I am glad it was helpful. I never tried making the elastic bigger. But I had the elastic from the me likes tea one tightened. And it worked fine.
I have a wunderwelt petticoat and it has amazing volume even after being stuffed in a box for like three months lol but the waist is a bit big on me :( and doesn’t seem to be adjustable. I’m wanted to invest in a melikestea petti but need something a bit cheaper in the meantime just so I can dress up and not feel uncomfortable with my petticoat slipping around😭
I was so excited the rainbow A&A ranked so well! It's definitely the best petti I've ever owned so I'm glad it ranks well against competitors! (PS to people thinking about buying it, the half rainbow color is just as cute, I actually like it more than the full personally)
@@FluffyKawaiiJo I think the rainbow color ends up more pastel because of the white in the middle, which I like, and the colors are less muddled by rainbow layers underneath.
I have several me likes tea petticoats and love them all, I always order them with a smaller waist than my own (about 10-15 cm less), that way they always fit great and I don't have to use the ribbon drawstring.
That’s the thing. If 10-15cm less than the your waist is what is needed, then when they ask you your waist measurements they should take that into account. Since then I had it altered to fit better.
@@FluffyKawaiiJo Definitely, they should. I talked to the owner of melikestea after my petticoat arrived, we had talked a bit beforehand and she asked for feedback about the fit, since they where thinking about changing the type of elastic they use for the waistband, and my feedback was that I had heard that the elastic waistband tended to be to loose and I therefore ordered it 10 cm less than my waist, and she was glad for the feedback, she even gave me a discount code for my next purchase for giving her detailed feedback :)
Thank you so much for this! I recently ordered a petticoat with my exact measurements and I was so worried it would be too big. I hope they see my email before it's too late
I own the very poofy aurora and ariel one in black and white bc I love it so much. I bought them in regular size bc I didn't know then that they made custom size and its a bit tight. But I've had it for over two years and its still very poofy so I don't think it deflates easily. My newest petticoat addition is an adjustable 3 tier hoop skirt I bought on aliexpress (it looks like the bouguta carmen adjustable petticoat) that can be 42 to 75cm in lenght and the hoops can be easily adjusted in width as well. It sadly only comes in one size that fits me at 90 waist snugly but far less tight than the aurora and ariel one and it has a very sturdy drawsting as well. I bought it both for a less warm option in summer and a way to accomodate my longer dresses. On top of that the bottom part is so pretty it can be used as an underskirt as well (I know peeking petti so scandalous :D). I paid 26€ incl shipping for it on sale and it was so worth it.
This is such a useful video I’m a new Lolita who has had interest in this fashion for a LONG time and finally have the ability to set aside funds for it (I ordered an OP and everything [for a first dive to get a casual feel and used to it]) but I know sooner I’m gonna need a petticoat and some blouses before I get a jsks and I’ve been just WONDERING what petticoat to even get this video is so informative and perfectly timed!! Thanks so much for your work ^^ literal perfect timing (I’m waiting for that op in the mail hehe)
@@FluffyKawaiiJo hopefully one the Aurora & Ariel ones the rainbow one seems so cute and they’re well priced for like a first one!! I kept seeing recommendations on the wunderwelt one but it’s much easier to drop around $30 usd than around $50usd (especially when trying to justify with parents) just waiting for the next paycheck to come in and to set aside my Lolita budget hehe
thank you making this video! it's a wonderful resource for the community. i will definitely recommend it to anyone searching for the perfect petticoat for themself!!
I love love love this video. Makes me feel very happy about my Aurora and Ariel black petticoat I have. Their stuff is so puffy and so affordable, it is insane.
That's a very informative video! Thank you for the time (and money) you spent doing it! I have a Hell Bunny petticoat (rockabilly brand) that I am thinking to alter to make it shorter. I think I'll do something similar to the Jennifer petticoat from Malco modes, to still be able to wear it with my rockabilly dress. I recently purchased a hoop skirt from Amazon (Noriviiq Womens White 3 Hoop Petticoat Skirt Underskirt Lace Lolita Dress Crinoline Adjustable). This one is extremely poofy!!!! I actually have to reduce a lot the size of the hoops (I'm mainly wearing classic lolita). There is no chance that the dress gets stucks between the hoops because there is fabric between the hoops, and on top of that there are ruffles (2 layers for each ruffle, one is a kind of organza and on top it's more like voile with lace trim). The ruffles add enough fabric to make the hoops completely invisible through the dress, even when you walk/dance
This was an awesome video. I learned that I've owned the Malco Mode Jennifer for a little over 4 years... how had I not known it was adjustable until now?!?
Haha, better find out late than never! When I was buying mine, I knew it was adjustable in length, but the button elastic took me by surprise. Since then I've seen one indie rockabilly skirt maker use that, it's such a neat feature! Though since buying mine almost 4 years ago I haven't actually needed to adjust the elastic yet, it's holding out very well.
This is such a good video! I have classical puppets cupcake custom size petticoat from back in the day when their petticoats where better, don´t know what happened but their petticoats haven´t been the same for years now. I also own the first three tiered bodyline one, but I use it for other alt fashions. I have been eyeing bunny house petticoats, they have many poof levels and custom sizing and me likes tea petticoats, and I would have recommended to contact the me likes tea customer service since yours was too big and you gave them the right measurement, if they would have corrected the issue
I couldn’t pay for the shipping back and forth again to fix it. So I hired a local seamstress to modify it. But in the end it ended up costing so much for a very average petticoat.
This was so helpful!! I was so excited for this video, because I'm actually in need of a new petticoat, and I was unsure between me likes tea one and Aurora and Ariel one.
So glad I found your channel!! This is such a helpful video and I'm excited to check out more of your content. :)) And out of curiosity, where did you happen to get that satin/silk tote at 5:28? I'd love to get one just like it to store my petti.
I am glad it helps! I have so many videos. I hope you will find them helpful and entertaining too. This tote bag was a gift bag at an event. I think Träumerei in Germany in 2019.
Cette vidéo est très bien faite, ça se voit que tu as passé beaucoup de temps dessus, bravo !! J'ai le jupon ajustable de tulutulu et un classical puppet et et les mets l'un sur l'autre quand je veux un maximum de volume
Thank you for making the video . I had exactly the same experience with melikestea. The elastic is very lose and I already had to replace the drawstring once. Very hard to keep high enough on the waist.
I have only one petticoat and it’s black. I was gonna buy myself a red one, and even short, long etc. just like the Victorians, and the 50’s vibes for girls and women wearing petticoats for special occasions. I choose petticoats that are Victorian, 50’s, and Lolita fashion. And wearing a petticoat on the summer, I had a feeling I might sweat inside and I get itchy everywhere. I just wish petticoats don’t irritate me, just comfy and relaxing.
I have an aurora and ariel 45 cm a-line petticoat!!! It's very nice, but since the fabric contains some organza, does that mean I need to store it inside out and hanging???? omfg lmao. i've found petticoat storage reports to be quite... inconsistent, it was helpful to hear that it has more to do with the fabric, though! thank you for all the reviews, Jo! ^^ i'll keep this in mind if/when I need a new petti!
14:53 The second channel for an alternative elastic height in the retro/vintage petticoat is such a simple but ingenious idea! 20:24 And I just love the look of the rainbow Aurora & Ariel one. It's amazing. (Does it matter that the bottom edges of it aren't finished?)
I just paid a lot of money for a MeLikesTea petticoat and I sold it as soon as I got it. Even though they say plus size and I ordered my waist size it didn't fit my hips. Also like you said, the hem came ripped on mine. 😒 Everyone recommended them to me but I'm so disappointed.
That is so weird. Yours is too small with your true size and mine was too big. It's just really inconsistent. That's a shame because other than that they are great petticoats with a wonderful customer service.
I am an extreme pear shaped women (50cm difference between waist and hip measurements) with a prefrence for minimal poof. I AM the petticoat 😂 I'll wear a small petticoat if I need an a line shape because legs don't work that way unless I am doing jumping jacks haha.
Buy yourself the shoelace plastic cord locks and you can slide it over the ties so all you have to do use that rather than tie the petticoats to keep them tight.
I'd love to know how you do your makeup! It's so coordinated and matches your dresses perfectly. I've wanted to experiment with kawaii makeup, but every time I try, I look like a clown. And I'd imagine throughout the day, it would smudge and smear...
I have this video where I try a new makeup palette and I use this technique most of the time for my makeup now. Some of the pink colors come from other palettes though. th-cam.com/video/z7DIPE7guyI/w-d-xo.html
I personally was really disappointed with my 8m A&A petticoat because of the inconsistency with the "holes" and dress fabric falling into the ruffles, not to mention it is so scratchy. My best petti is from classical puppets but is not the one you reviewed, the one I have does not have the long lace :O I wish I knew which it was but it was a gift... I would recommend trying to find a classical puppets without the long overlay though it is SO consistent and soft and perfect. I plan to sell my new A&A and just use the money for another CP one haha
I would say that 8m is definitely not enough fabric for this shape of petticoat. I would act like you said and like the Diamond honey ones in my video. If you want something less poofy, you are right, the kind of shapes of the classical puppet would work better. But the classic puppets ones will never give as much poof as the 20m Aurora and Ariel.
@@FluffyKawaiiJo Wow what a fast and thoughtful response haha thank you! I wear primarily casual sweet lolita so big poof is not always my desire I totally agree with your thoughts here! If I were going for a bigger proof I think I would be more happy with the A&A you reviewed in this video :)
I starch my Classical Puppets after every wash. Granted, I don't do it excessively, that would be uncomfortable to wear, but while it helps a little, it's more of a 'regular maintenance' kind of help than a permanent solution or an emergency intervention. Starching a lolita petticoat gives it a bit of a lift, but it's not a significant boost to begin with. If I showed you mine before and after starching, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I myself only know because I wear that thing regularly to have a comparison of how it otherwise feels like. Moreover, it's not a boost that lasts long, starch wears out fairly quickly, and different fabrics react differently to being starched. If you want to give your petticoat a one-off super boost because you really need a bit more poof and you're in a pinch, sure, go for it and starch it to the gods. But if you feel like you have to starch your petticoat that often because otherwise it's flat, then that's a sign that you need a better petticoat more than anything.
I got the Aurora and Ariel rainbow one custom sized and 16m from Taobao a few months ago and it came as the 2-tier one like on the listing, maybe you were unlucky and they messed up your order? :( I really like it, it's my go-to petti for sweet dresses! It does peek a little bit for shorter AP dresses like Milky-chan.
Interesting. Thank you so much for letting me know. I will look more into that. The issue is that I didn't find a way to pick A-line or cupcake (or 2 and 3 tiers). So I don't really know how to know which one to get.
@@FluffyKawaiiJo The only difference I see between our orders is that I chose the 16m one, while you selected the catwalk 20m one, maybe the catwalk type is a A-line type? The 3-tier one is not even shown in the listing images though so it's still pretty weird that they would offer it so subtly. Maybe you could ask your shopping service to verify with the seller just to be sure? Also edit: I just checked the reviews on Taobao and the photos are all from people who selected 16m, so I'm really beginning to think that the 20m one is different, though the listing says absolutely nothing about that.
I loved this video!! Thank you thank you thank you for the thorough review!!!! I’m so thankful to have found your channel 🥰🖤🖤🖤 by the way I was trying to google aurora & Ariel and couldn’t find their website. Where do you buy the rainbow petticoat by them from the USA?
Here's the Taobao link! item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a312a.7700824.w4004-8486439375.9.266e4831jMhraZ&id=619970439480 (And here's their shop: shop107946550.taobao.com/) From the known resellers, I only found it on MLD: www.my-lolita-dress.com/AA-lolita-fashion-Rainbow-Organza-Lolita-Petticoat-Custom-Tailor-p1153217.html It will likely be cheaper if you buy it from Taobao using a shopping service :)
@Eunice Lee! Thank you so much! I am glad it helps. I will make soon another video trying to buy the petticoat from TaoBao and various resellers and we will see where it’s the cheapest and where it’s the easiest to buy when not in China.
@@FluffyKawaiiJo that would be amazing video!! I have never ever used a shopping service either. So maybe explaining how that works too if you get sponsored by one that would be even better!!
I got the MeLikesTea poof monster years ago, but mine was in the hard tulle. It actually ended up being the best petticoat I ever had. I second that it still had the small waist ribbon but I didn't have the size issues. The petticoat was mega poofy and lasted five years. If MLT still made hard tulle poof monsters I would urge you to try again with her. The organza poof monster seemed a lot smaller than the old one.
I actually got my MLT fixed. So many comments made me look at how it was constructed and it was easy to make the elastic tighter. So I will see in the long run if I like it.
Can you see the rainbow colors of the petticoat through lighter fabrics? I want to get the Aurora and Ariel one, but I'm afraid the colors will show through whites or thinner fabrics.
Even the darkest petticoats (hot pink bodyline) doesn’t show through my very like and white dresses. But both had a lining. So maybe that helped. But I would say unless the dress is really transparent that you would see your hand through, you should be ok.
This is an older comment, but I have a somewhat darkee lavender petti that I can't wear underneath any dress without lining (usually cheaper items from Bodyline or anything casually handmade). You can see the difference in color in good lighting. Just something to consider!
I have the cream and sugar lolita petticoat and I have the same waist as you do you want me to send you my review of the petticoat? If not I definitely think you should get it once it available again bc its very nice 👌
I actually bought it and I hoped it would get here just before the video release so I could squeeze it in the video. Unfortunately it hasn't come. But I can add my review of it when I do the unboxing video in the same style as in this video. I have a question though. Which size did you take? I took the size 2 I think but I am worried as the relaxed elastic is bigger than my waist so I hope it won't be too big. But they told me their drawstring is way better than in the Me Likes Tea.
@@FluffyKawaiiJo i got a size one... honestly I couldn't make up my mind which size to get bc the sizing was confusing It turned out to be quite stretchy but it is a little tight on my waist, but not super uncomfortable but then again haven't worn it longer than a few hours The poof is awesome though
Awesome. Thank you for letting me know. Lovely Lor told me that she had the size 1 and she couldn’t pass it over her hips so that freaked me out and I ordered size 2. We’ll see when it comes.
I cant seem to find a way to find hoop skirts to buy on taobao, do you have any suggestions on what I can search or if I should buy from somewhere else for that?
Maybe this post on Reddit can help you: www.reddit.com/r/lolitafashion/comments/bkf1c3/anyone_know_a_chinese_word_for_hoop_skirt/?context=3 If not maybe try "crinoline" too.
that's the thing. The photo on the rainbow listing has two tiers so it should make a more cupcake shape. But I bought that one and it ended up coming with 3 tiers like the white one that is A-line. so I don't know if it was an older design or what it is. I will research that into more details.
Hi! Where is the best shopping service to buy off of taobao to get the Aurora and Ariel Petticoat? I loved this video and it was a big help. Thank you!
Thank you! I am working on a follow up video where I compare TaoBao resellers and buying directly from TaoBao. My shopping service is SuperBuy and I am very happy with it. If you want to try it, you can register with my link in the description and I will earn a small commission when you use it that will help support my channel.
I would like to enter the giveaways please! My favorite video of yours is the petticoat comparison video. It was very informative and helpful, especially as a new lolita. Here is my instagram post: instagram.com/p/CPTu5V3L8iV/?
The Me Likes Tea review doesn't seem fair cause you clearly just have the wrong size?? I ordered mine true to my size and the elastic fits very snuggly without the need for the tie at all. Its extremely comfortable and doesn't show any sign of flattening nor have I experienced any tears in the fabric.
I think the elastic needs to be a bit tighter for her which could easily be adjusted if she goes to a seamstress. She could even get them to put a thicker cord in the waistband if she prefers. Jo, for the amount of money you've spent on the petticoat you should consider doing this. If I remember correctly the petticoat also has 6 layers? Thats a lot of weight in fabric and the weight will be dragging the petticoat down
Before doing this review I checked my order again. They let you pick the exact centimeter of your waist and that's what I ordered. So I don't know what I could have done wrong. But you guys are totally right. I thought that having to pay for alteration on top of what I paid would be too much. But I looked at how it's been done and the elastic are just in two channels and it's not sewn. So I could very easily open the channel and make the elastic smaller. That such a good idea to save it. Thank you both.
Don’t worry too much about shape first. Buy dresses that you like and then you’ll figure out the shapes that fit you or not. And you can buy more of. Or if you already know what kind of shapes works for your body types, go for that. Lolita coats usually will accommodate the petticoat so you don’t really need to worry much. Then just choose if you want a short coat that will show the dress or a long coat that will cover it.

Yeah! I think when a petticoat is too big it’s as much an issue as when it’s too tight. I hope that you found ideas about what petticoats to get.
Thank you for making this video. Petticoats are daunting to a beginner.
I am glad this helped! 💖
the aurora and ariel one was my first petticoat!!! I'm so glad I got it. it's lovely
It’s it! It’s a great first petticoat
I was so excited the rainbow A&A ranked so well! It's definitely the best petti I've ever owned so I'm glad it ranks well against competitors! (PS to people thinking about buying it, the half rainbow color is just as cute, I actually like it more than the full personally)
Yeah! I haven't bought mine yet, so you may change my mind. What makes you like the half rainbow more?
@@FluffyKawaiiJo I think the rainbow color ends up more pastel because of the white in the middle, which I like, and the colors are less muddled by rainbow layers underneath.
Interesting! I will definitely think about it! Thank you 😘
I have several me likes tea petticoats and love them all, I always order them with a smaller waist than my own (about 10-15 cm less), that way they always fit great and I don't have to use the ribbon drawstring.
Yes, I also talked to talk to them recently, years after I received my petticoats. They seam really interested in improving what they can.
Thank you so much for this! I recently ordered a petticoat with my exact measurements and I was so worried it would be too big. I hope they see my email before it's too late
I hope it will all work out.
This is straight up SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH ❤️
Thanks! I tried my best!
Thank you so much for the recommendation. Would you agree to send me the link here?
This is such a useful video I’m a new Lolita who has had interest in this fashion for a LONG time and finally have the ability to set aside funds for it
(I ordered an OP and everything [for a first dive to get a casual feel and used to it])
but I know sooner I’m gonna need a petticoat and some blouses before I get a jsks and I’ve been just WONDERING what petticoat to even get this video is so informative and perfectly timed!! Thanks so much for your work ^^ literal perfect timing (I’m waiting for that op in the mail hehe)
Yeah! I am glad you like it. Which one will you get?
@@FluffyKawaiiJo hopefully one the Aurora & Ariel ones the rainbow one seems so cute and they’re well priced for like a first one!! I kept seeing recommendations on the wunderwelt one but it’s much easier to drop around $30 usd than around $50usd (especially when trying to justify with parents) just waiting for the next paycheck to come in and to set aside my Lolita budget hehe
If you were to do a part 2 I'd love to see the infamous amazon hoop skirt
Do you have a link? Which one is it?
thank you making this video! it's a wonderful resource for the community. i will definitely recommend it to anyone searching for the perfect petticoat for themself!!
Oh thank you so much! I am glad it was helpful.
14:55 Omggff I'm wanting a skirt so much
You mean the Malco modes petticoat?
I love love love this video. Makes me feel very happy about my Aurora and Ariel black petticoat I have. Their stuff is so puffy and so affordable, it is insane.
Yeah! I am glad you liked it too.
I love my Aurora&Ariel 16m Petti! 😍
Yeah! I am really impressed by their quality. They are great!
Thank you so much! I’ll consider checking it out!
This was an awesome video. I learned that I've owned the Malco Mode Jennifer for a little over 4 years... how had I not known it was adjustable until now?!?
Yeah! At least you have learned something!
So which one will you get ?
So glad I found your channel!! This is such a helpful video and I'm excited to check out more of your content. :)) And out of curiosity, where did you happen to get that satin/silk tote at 5:28? I'd love to get one just like it to store my petti.
I am glad it helps! I have so many videos. I hope you will find them helpful and entertaining too.
This tote bag was a gift bag at an event. I think Träumerei in Germany in 2019.
@@FluffyKawaiiJo Ahh dang. Hopefully I can find something similar! Thank you :) I’ve been enjoying your other videos as well! Hope you’re well :))

Thank you so so much for making this video 💜💜💜 I was just hunting for something like this
Yeah! I am glad it helped! Which one will you get?
this is so incredibly helpful, thank you!!
You’re welcome
I use the classical puppets petticoat! It is a bit long, but the lace is very pretty! I'm a sweet lolita.
Yes. That’s a shame that it does sometimes peak out. But I agree the lace is pretty 😍
Thank you for making the video . I had exactly the same experience with melikestea. The elastic is very lose and I already had to replace the drawstring once. Very hard to keep high enough on the waist.
That’s good to know. I was beginning to think I was just very unlucky. I am sorry for you.
I got my Aurora & Ariel one today, it was time for a new one. Thank you for the review!
You’re welcome! I hope that will like your new petticoat.
Thank you so much! Ive been looking for a good petticoat forever, this was very helpful!!

@@FluffyKawaiiJo probably the one from tulu tulu
Great choice!
What an helpful video ! Thanks a lot for this !
You’re welcome! I am glad it helped!
Do you try many different materials? Some of them are not itchy at all.
At least store it in a place where it's not squished. That could make it less poofy. You can also store it flat somewhere
14:53
The second channel for an alternative elastic height in the retro/vintage petticoat is such a simple but ingenious idea!
20:24
And I just love the look of the rainbow Aurora & Ariel one. It's amazing. (Does it matter that the bottom edges of it aren't finished?)
What do you mean the bottom edge is not finished?
Interesting. So you just own a small A-line petti and for cupcake you go with no petticoat at all?
Buy yourself the shoelace plastic cord locks and you can slide it over the ties so all you have to do use that rather than tie the petticoats to keep them tight.
Great idea! Thank you so much! I bet I can find a cute one too! 💖
merci pour ta vidéo ,tu m as vraiment aidé à choisir mon jupon ...😊😊😍 et merci bcp pour tes explications 😊
De rien! Je suis contente que ça t’ai aidé!
Aw :( I was gonna go with melikestea because it looked so good in Tyler’s review but now I’m not sure
The quality is good but it is SO expensive. You can get a very more poofy petticoat for half the price.
Thank you,a youtuber named lovely lor just sent me here and it really helped

You can wear several petticoats over each other. They do it for more Volume in the 50s.
This is not recommended. All the extra elastic bands at your waist is really not comfortable and good for you. I suggest getting one big one.
Have you ever starched a petticoat? I wonder if you can to make older ones a bit more stiff.
@Impractical Sewing I personally haven't but Cupcake Kamisama recommended it. So I am glad she answered with more info from her experience.
@Cupcake Kamisama thank you so much for your detailed answer. Since I haven't done it myself it's good to have that info here.
I have a question. If you get a petticoat that's a bit shorter than the skirt then recommended, will it still be ok to wear and would it look weird?
I would say that depends on the dress. If the dress is transparent and super light it could look weird. But some fabric will make it look seamless.
@@FluffyKawaiiJo thank you,I was a bit conflicted about it,I didn't want to buy what I wanted in fear that it would look weird. Thank you again ❤️
If you have specific dresses and petticoat in mind you can tell me and I can look them up and tell for sure.
Interesting. Thank you for that.

What kind of petticoat do I use for old-school Lolita ???
I am really not a specialist of old-school. But I would say one that is not too poofy.
Yayyy thank you, I am having a petticoat crisis
You’re welcome. I hope it helped.
@@FluffyKawaiiJo Thank you!!!!
This is an older comment, but I have a somewhat darkee lavender petti that I can't wear underneath any dress without lining (usually cheaper items from Bodyline or anything casually handmade). You can see the difference in color in good lighting. Just something to consider!
Thank you for mentioning this!
Ive been thinking about buying a petticoat...do you thinks its worth getting one?
That depends. If you are wearing lolita fashion or any type of fashion were you need a poofy skirt…yes. If you only wear jeans…no.
@@FluffyKawaiiJo i like to mix goth elements with lolita
I guess if you still do lolita, or gothic lolita, you need a petticoat
I have the cream and sugar lolita petticoat and I have the same waist as you
do you want me to send you my review of the petticoat? If not I definitely think you should get it once it available again bc its very nice 👌
I actually bought it and I hoped it would get here just before the video release so I could squeeze it in the video. Unfortunately it hasn't come. But I can add my review of it when I do the unboxing video in the same style as in this video.
I have a question though. Which size did you take? I took the size 2 I think but I am worried as the relaxed elastic is bigger than my waist so I hope it won't be too big. But they told me their drawstring is way better than in the Me Likes Tea.
@@FluffyKawaiiJo i got a size one... honestly I couldn't make up my mind which size to get bc the sizing was confusing
It turned out to be quite stretchy but it is a little tight on my waist, but not super uncomfortable but then again haven't worn it longer than a few hours
The poof is awesome though
Maybe this post on Reddit can help you: www.reddit.com/r/lolitafashion/comments/bkf1c3/anyone_know_a_chinese_word_for_hoop_skirt/?context=3
If not maybe try "crinoline" too.

I didn't see the cupcake one at aurora and ariel, it only seems like they sell a-line?
that's the thing.
Thank you!

Thats a lot of weight in fabric and the weight will be dragging the petticoat down
Agreed! its so worth it to get it resized since those pettis are so nice!

Thanks for this video💖
Yes! Unfortunately I don’t fit most sizes and I must look for plus size lolita fashion. I hope that this helped.
The hardest part about starting lolita is deciding what coats and dress shapes to buy💀
