Great video! I found out the hard way 2 days ago, when i had to walk my ebike 3 miles to the nearest train station after running over a wood screw then realizing i left my tools and patches at home. Just got my flatout today.
That was a long way to walk your bike. I think you will have better lucj with the Flat Out.
@theridewithlance7013 I think so, too. Luckily, the rim stayed within the tire, so there was no rim damage. A lesson well learned. Lol
Thanks for the clear step-by-step! After my recent puncture experience and having to replace the tire, I was looking for an less expensive prevention method. I had heard about sealants, but never how to use it. This clears things up! 👍 (psst... I've subscribed!)
Your welcome, and thank you.
Now you tell me!!! 2 weeks after a flat left me stranded miles from home.
Oops......sorry.
@@theridewithlance7013 Just messin' with you, amigo.🚴🚴♂🚴♀
Yeap, I was just messin back.

I got my new bike. I put some of this in the tires cause every next day. I ran over a piece of glass glass. I’ve got a huge gouge in my tire, but it absolutely sealed the tube and it’s been riding fine for about a month.
Fantastic.
Nice job Lance 🔧
Thank you.
Thank you, a very clear presentation.
You are welcome!
Nice video. I will be putting some in my ebikes in the spring
Right on!
Awesome thank you
You bet!
Good job Lance. Nice quality
Thank you.
The bag clearly says 1/4 of bag per tire for bikes. Can you put too much or does it just make the tire heavier?
16oz for 26x4" fat tires. The bag I had was a 32oz bag. So half a bag per tire. If you put too much you might get an unbalance wheel.
@theridewithlance7013 This really cleared things up for me. I was concerned about the measurements as well. And my tires are also 26×4". Thanks.
I saw in another video somebody said if you have 20x4" smaller fat tires, it's 10oz of flat out per tire. So it would make sense to add six more ounces for six more inches.
@@theblowupdollsmusic Sounds about right.
Great easy to understand video. I would like to know what attachment you used to air up your tires that tells you when the tire pressure reached 20 psi. I've been looking for something like that but haven't found one.
I used a air compressor that has a PSI needle on it. Similair to the old style gas station air hoses used on vehicles. Now, I have a portable rechargeable handheld I got from Lectric. You can program the PSI level you want and it will automatically cut off when it reaches it. There are several companies now that make them. Just do an Amazon or google search for "Handheld Air Compressor" and you should see a pretty good selection.
@@theridewithlance7013 thanks!
Thank you very much for your video! Question: does it work with inner tubes too?
Yes.
Thank you for the tutorial, but do you have to deflate the tires first before you add the flat out? I thought you had to for some reason.
Yes you do. You have to pull the valve core out to get the flatout in, and this will deflate the tire.
@@theridewithlance7013 Thank you so much, I'm dumb. I just realized removing the valve core automatically deflates the tire lol. Thank you for the quick response.
Also, for places with winter climates, does the liquid buildup if the bike sits in the garage? Or should the wheels be spun every couple days just to keep it from pooling or drying towards the bottom? Thanks again.
The liquid never dries, but spinning the wheels every one in a while would not hurt if the bike is going to sit for long periods of time. I have had no issues with the bikes that have sat for several months without spinning the wheels.
@@theridewithlance7013 Thank you so much for the insight. I appreciate your time.
@@theblowupdollsmusic No problem.
Can you still check your tire pressure when you have flatout in it because i think all that stuff will go right to the valve stem and get it stuck in open position. Thats what happened to me 3 hrs after i put it in a brand new bike all the air came out and it was all guncked up around the valve stem.
Yes, you can still check tire pressure. Not sure what happened in your situation loosing all air. When I install the flatout, I make sure the valve stem is not at the lowest point . I make sure it is a quarter way to the top, or to the side so when the flatout goes in it is not staying around the valve stem. I do clean any access or spillage off the valve stem before reinstalling the valve core, and fill it back up with air with the valve stem in the same position as when I was filling it with flat out. I have had no issue doing it this way and still have no issue checking and adding air when needed.
@theridewithlance7013 ok good to know maybe I had a bad valve. I replaced it with a brand new one and it's been fine.
How much flatout would you recommend to put in a tubeless 14x2.5 tire?
Sorry, I cant find any info on a tire that size. However for a 20" rim with a tire size less then 3.5" it recommends 8oz. So I would go for 5 to 6oz.
Ordered I ride mainly on the flat but I don't want to push my rad 6 home for several miles good advice, only question i have dont you have to rotate the wheel to spread it as if i did it then i didnt use the bike for several days would it just be sat at the bottom of the wheel.thanks.
It is designed to stay liquid for up to 10 years. So you dont have to rotate it.
So do you rotate the tire for awhile to spread it out inside or does it not get hard
It stays liquid. Last up to 10 years.
I like the video, but you didn’t say anything about making sure when you air up the tires to make sure the tire bead seat correctly. Looking at the video Your front tire did not seat correctly right before you cut the video. It’s important that people know how to check that the tires seat correctly or they can blow out the inner tube. It’s best not to use a compressor to fill the tires back up, using a handheld electric pump or a hand pump is the best way to avoid not seating the tires correctly.
Yes, I should have addressed making sure the bead sets right when pumping the tire back up. It did seat right though. I did check both tires after I did the rear tire, but yes that is a good point.
Last step should be to spin the tire so the FlatOut is distributed around the entire inside of the tube. FlatOut stays liquid inside your tire and it will clog your valve stem if you use too much. (Fortunately you can remove and clean the valve core if this happens.) I've used FO in 2 ebikes over the past 4 years without a single flat (knock wood!).
Thats great. No flats here either since putting it in.
Yes, you must spin the tires as soon after you add, this also keeps tires in balance!
