- I sacrifice a perfectly good tire and inner tube to discover how well FlatOut tire sealant works. I puncture this tire with small nails, big nails, and more. Check out how it works

I've been binging tire sealant videos for my car tires and finally this video sold me. FlatOut it is! Straight to the point and you showed me exactly what I needed to see!
Glad this video helped!
It literally says not used for passenger cars.
@@iconyx1227 That's because of the risk of sealing the valve stem. I'll take that risk. Won't need it anymore if my tire never goes flat. And I could just replace it if it did.
Most flats around 90% are small slow leaks, so it works great.
Great!
I have been watching videos for flat out and slime, after watching this video I have decided to try this product. I have slime tubes installed on a couple of my bikes and so far have had no punctures.
But now I have an electric bike I want the added peace of mind.
Your video was great, explains everything well and shows real puncture tests. I've never before had a punture as large as that 3/8 drill bit made, so hopefully that luck will continue for me, I've been bicycling for 53 years so far.
Thank-you.
Hopefully flat-out will prevent flats for you forever!
It might have worked if it had more flat out in it. It probably was low from the last two drill holes so I bet it would have had a better chance with adding more flat out after the 1/4 in drill hole. But great stuff
Maybe!
Yes, Drill bits instead of nails. That shows the real power of the sealant. Impressive.
For all those pesky drill bits that are on the road!
Great video!! For some reason, i got 2 flats within the past month. Both times i had slime in my rear tire and it didn't help much. 1st time it was a key that made the flat 2nd time (today) it was a drywall screw. Gonna try flatout and hope it works better. I may try tannus armor but really don't want to shell out $111.
Damn! Sorry to hear that. Hopefully flatout helps!
I don't know how you tube knew. I just got a flat tire on my bike but this got recommended
RIP your tire! Sorry man.
Looked more like a scene from a Stormy Daniel movie, lol. Actually, that is really good stuff, I swear by it.
A simple "puncture" from any sized object (thorn, fishhook, nail, screw, bolt, etc) is totally different from actual drilling...removal of the tire rubber itself. Definitely the real "stress" test.
thanks!
Great video...Great use of power tools...😂😅
Thanks Bruce! Always good to see you in the comments
I'm pretty impressed with this test. Do you know if Flatout works with inner tubes? I realise it works better with Tubless, but I'm looking at this strictly from a "Get Me Home!" standpoint. Once I'm home I'll change the tube, I just don't want to be doing it on the side of the road. I've been using slime since they have a varient for inner tubes, but from what I've seen here Flatout may be better. I don't think I'll be running over any 3/8 drill bits, just want it to work with standard nails & thorns.
I hate to do this to you, but I'd love to see that 3/8 test again on a fully inflated tire and a fresh load of flatout (I'm guessing you lost quite a bit of the sealent in the previous tests). Liked and subscribed, this was a really good video.
Thanks! That test was actually done with an inner tube.
@@maximumchargeEV Oh wow, I had no idea it was that effective with inner tubes. Like I said I'm not looking for miracles, I just want to be able to get home and it looks like this will do it. Thanks for the great video.
One thing you don't report on is do you get a lot rougher bumpier ride with FlatOut ? If the tires don't give there's no cushioning.
Ride feels the same
This is my 1st exposure to this product so please correct any inaccuracies but if I understand this, it remains in liquid state, only to solidify around a leak...a scab of sorts, lol. 1 of the benefits of the green goo it's that when correctly applied, it gives an even coat. Given this, how does a constant liquid affect tire balance? Without a correction for this consideration, any motorized vehicles w this should be banned from freeways!
I'm not sure about what you're saying, but a small hole filled with a solidified flatout clump has a negligible amount of weight and will barely effect wheel balance.
Hey do you have that in your back tie as well and are you running tubes or tubeless?
yes. I have tubes in both.
I have Mr.Tuffy tire liners on my Fat tire ebike and after 4 flats from screws & nails I'm ready to try flat out.
why not both?
So no kidding the Mr Tuffy tire liners were completely ineffective?
Nice 🚴
thanks!
Dose it work on tube less tires.
scene from pamela anderson movie,😅 now i ve got to watch that movie😅
haha cheers
T H A N K S for the sacrifice, great video. Keep that away from your dog for fear of the same effect ...
haha! of course! Thanks for watching!
Pamela Anderson movie …lmao
😄
thanks for doing this mate…good stuff…how much ounce you did pour in the tube? 26i inch tire
For this size of tire you need 16 ounces per tire.
It's a 26x4 inch tire and I put half the bottle into it.
Thank you guys.. i had 26x4 tire so one bottle of Flatout will do both tires….
@@baddriversofcolga thanks…if is 20x3 tire 8 ounces per tire?
Flat Out does make a mess, right? i've been thinking about Flat Out or Tanus Linners
not really messy unless the tire explodes everywhere
@@maximumchargeEV Got it. do you think the Tanus is as good as the Flat Out?
We can't get this in the UK
No way. Any idea why?
Seen from a Pamela Anderson movie 😅😅😅😅
Scene
Do you have inner tube? or is the tire tubeless?
Inner tube
I was using Slime but I stopped using it for electric scooter tubeless. I was told to use Armadilloz which it’s recommended and I was using LiquiTube and I need to get this one
4.17.24😮
Keep in mind if its spinning like it would be while riding it does seal as fast as possible. Best bet if you dont trust this is a laser beam in front of the bike to vaporize all matter as you ride but we don't have that tech available to the public at an affordable price yet, come back to this comment in 37 years.
See you In 37 years
Better then Slime?
There's another video area 13 bikes did comparing slime to this and this did better.
You should be wearing safety glasses just in case stuff sprays into your eyes 👀👁️👀👀👀😢
It's okay, I do the safety squint
@@maximumchargeEV Love it
@@FrameGame1 thanks!
Does this liquid slow you down?
I couldn't tell a difference.
I don't know what's up with all these people getting all these flats, I think at some point you just need to watch where you're going.
Lol that would help
try that in Phoenix - there are tire eating tree branches in the street you don't see at speed and thorns everywhere
Same thing here but in Perth (Western Australia). Riding a bike here kinda sucks because of all the random thorn bushes that you don't see until you ride right over them that are growing right in the street or in parts of the road/footpath (you call it a sidewalk there I believe).@@jnb756
Should have used soapy water
HOW BIG IS YOUR FAT TIRE? HOW MANY OZ OF FLAT OUT DID YOU PUMP IN THE TUBE TO BEGIN WITH?
26x4. It says how much to use on their site

Just wanted to add a comment that might help others when they get an ebike flat . First rest assured you eventually you will get one. Knowing in advance how to handle the situation will help you stay calm & prevent you from damaging your bike. First when you get a flat do not try to walk it to a convenient place to repair it; this will damage the tire & worse cause permanent damage to the rim. Park & lock the bike as close to where the flat occurred. If you have your cell phone with you call for assistance ; if not walk to the nearest place where you can get help. Go back home get your truck or car go back where you locked the bike bring it home & repair it or take it to a shop to repair it for you.
Or you could always carry a patch kit, just fix the flat and keep going. I remember feeling a bit intimidated about fixing a flat on my first fat tire e-bike, especially the rear one. Turns out, it's pretty easy, and you don't even need to remove the tire. I firmly believe that if you're going to ride an e-bike, it's a good idea to learn these basic skills. That said, I do use Flat Out in my tires now simply because fixing flats all the time can get tiresome!
@@Gr8_Scottthey even have small hand sized electric air pumps you don't even gotta carry a full pump and struggle anymore like we did as kids 😅
The likelihood of running over a drill is 0% 😂
And I'm one of that "0%"!
Went through an unfamiliar road in a relatively industrialized zone and a small drill punctured my scooter tire on the side of the road!
Thankfully, the tubeless tire sealed itself and the pre-installed sealant did the trick!
I just bought the off road version (Lightning strike) of F.O. for my e scooter wheels after numerous video testimonials like yours. 🤝🫵
Right on!
