Hackberry that I dealt with back in the early 2000's if I remember right took about 8 months to season. Loved burning it in the fireplace. You guys splitting in the edge of the woods brings back some memories from back in the day. Wish I could go do it again. Later Genin! Fight 'em fair! -Everett
@@everettt8301 hey Everett, I like hackberry, drys quick and all the strings off it light up and help get the fire going nicely. Glad I could take you down memory lane. Have a great day!
Ahhh… yes Hackberry! Split a ton of it and the single wedge is a must! Heavy and dense for sure. Makes great firewood when it’s seasoned! Nice work fellas. You made quick work of that pile of rounds!👍🏻👍🏻
Ive learned alot just by watching you and everyone else involved in this community, thats why i love it. We're always learning and teaching to make life easier. 💪💪
Hey there Genin and Alec. You guys got it down. The Ultra is the best machine for the money. You guys blew through a lot of wood. Fun to watch. Take care
My experience with Hackberry is it splits easy or it's a pain in the butt. You never know til you start splitting. I still prefer leaving the rounds set a couple of months before splitting them. It seems easier to split and lighter to handle then. Nice work fellas.
That's how it starts Alec. "I don't want to make any money, just want to make a little for myself....".

Seems everyone has to learn the hard way when it comes to splitting even a small volume firewood. The School of Hard Knocks can be a vicious teacher.

Do you have a shop tour video? What size is the shop?
@@Tcw2019 I don’t have a shop tour but is 40x30, maybe someday I’ll do a tour of things. Thanks for watching!
Nice splitting on the ol’ hackberry! The ultra split it up nicely 👌🏻 Sounds like Lil’ sis has learned a lesson 😂
@@McKameyFarms he’s definitely figuring out how to take a little more time now to save himself alot of time later. Thanks for watching 👍
Nice video Genin. I don’t see much hackberry around here. The last I got was a couple years ago… if I remember correctly it dries pretty fast.
@@oldguyfirewood thanks dick, it does dry pretty quick for as dense as it is. Have a great week and thanks for stopping by👍
Nice work boys! No hackberry around here, but we've got plenty of other tough splitting stuff like beech, elm and hickory. Love that Cat.
@@dereksstuff8395 thanks Derek, those are some tough splitting woods, ever split sycamore? It’s a headache
@765Guys I have not split sycamore. From what I've seen it sucks.
