  • Jerry Seinfeld is my 5th Best Standup (I dunno, somewhere in my videos you'll find it) and here he's talking to mediocre Standup Comedian and Suburban Marxist Marc Maron about comedy. They refer to 'Catch' which is a gross way of discussing the comedy club "Catch a Rising Star' but I don't blame them either.

For Seinfeld, comedy is a fun and interesting career and a way to enjoy the world. For Maron, comedy is a kind of therapy he uses to try to escape his sullenness, while attempting to understand the world. Angst-ridden dude.

TBH, Marc was trying to project his own point of view and Jerry is kust different.

Marc was trying to project his own demons onto Jerry. But Jerry opened the door by mentioning cursing.

You should do a criticism of Joe Rogan's stand up comedy.

There is at least one stand up Jerry Seinfeld special that’s unique gold. Objectively. Even if you don’t like him and thinks it’s not funny, you are comedy limited if you think ‘when was he ever even good?’

Deleting my replies to your replies is so childish, like sticking your fingers in your ears and going 'la-la-la' loudly. You know who I'm talking about.

Jerry is not funny...his material has sucked for YEARS...When was he ever funny?...His show?...was funny because of the characters...the lamest character in the show was the guy they called "Jerry".

    • @stephenpowers51
      @stephenpowers51 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

Oh yes he is. Oh no it hasn't. Throughout his career. He invented the characters, even the lame ones. Tell me again, who the f*** are you? Oh, that's right. No one cares.

@@lt.columbo5919I think you'll find LD co-created, co-wrote, etc. You make JS sound like a passive actor in its conception, which of course he wasn't, seeing as it was him the network approached to make a show. My original point, poorly made, is that "I think" would be a better way to introduce your opinions. They're not facts. I think you're perfectly entitled to them, and I thank you for them. So what if no one else cares what you think? Or what I think? Don't you agree, we could all just be a bit kinder about how we share our opinions here? (The f word was unnecessary, I apologise for that.)

Seinfeld knew how to craft for laughs and could win every audience, consistently, never lose, laughs per minute, any city, any demo, talk show, corporate, LA clubs and for decades. Like Leno, you can dislike it for yourself but that's nearly the ultimate definition of success and non-sucking material. It works every single time with every single audience.

@@lt.columbo5919 No, he didn't. Jerry asked Larry to write it with him after getting an offer from NBC. They created it together.

He isn't very funny, and was a horrible actor on his own show.
Larry David is funny.. Jerry is mediocre at best.

I agree with you 100% .. Seinfeld is technically at the top of the pile of impressive joke writing, HOWEVER he quite literally has the most unlikable personality of any human being I have witnessed... He is what my dead mother would refer to as a 🤮 PUKE!!!!

That's an interesting opinion. I like his self-confidence, his belief that what he does is good. I like that, to me, he appeared to know his limitations as an actor, ("A good man knows his limitations", from the Dirty Harry movies, is my guiding principle) and never tried too hard to be anything more than he could be. I too think LD is funny... and that Jerry Seinfeld is brilliant at best. Now, here's my opinion on your comment. I think your comment (I mean you, of course) is crass, mean-spirited, self-important, rude, pointless, and says a lot more about you (ie, that you are crass, mean-spirited, self-important, rude and pointless) than it does about anything else. It's just my opinion. You're welcome.

@@stephenpowers51 Seems you are extremely sensitive to criticism about others (Jerry in particular)...must be a sign of a personality disorder...Isn't that what they call "appeal to authority"...The idea that "between you and Jerry...you must have a few hundred million dollars".

Jerry is not funny at all...He is well known...and of course, he had a show (Larry David was the genius behind that)...but Jerry is no where near being on a Top 20 list...He is mediocre, at best...despite his huge ego.

@@lt.columbo5919 Do these people unironically think Seinfeld is great?? Judging by the title, it must be the just the fact that the vast majority of comedians are left-leaning (and the right wing ones are trash) and Seinfeld seems fairly apolitical though has often pushed back against "wokeism".
