I'm a Liverpool fan and met Roy Keane when I was 12 at an airport in Cork over 20 years ago, Roy was with his father and brother and couldn't have been nicer, bought a round of drinks for the father and uncle and took some photos with us and signed some autographs.

From Northern Ireland but many in the North still consider themselves Irish. He chose to represent Ireland at the Olympics, so while he may say he’s on the fence, when push came to shove he obviously felt more Irish. It is probably irrelevant anyways seeing as the underachieving UK try to label every Irish sportsperson (we have lots) as British, to the point where the likes of Evan Ferguson (born and bred in Ireland, playing for Ireland) has to ask reporters to stop asking him about playing for England 🤡🤡🤡

He comes across great on here, but when he was on I’m a celebrity he got on like an absolute prat. Getting on like a complete man child, falling out with people over nothing and taking the huff. Couldn’t believe a man in his 60’s got on like that. He fulfilled the stereotype of footballers used to getting everything their own way and couldn’t cope if something happened to him he didn’t agree with. Feel like he showed his true colours and showed he’s a bit of a fool. Was disappointed and embarrassed for him.

20 years ago I was working with a few Arsenal fans by the bbc in shepherds bush they saw Wrighty in a building opposite where we was, they wasnt brave enough to ask his autograph and i heard oh hes going now, i shouted "WRIGHTY" as he was getting in the back of a bentley, he drove past turned around come into our car park got out chatting making us all laugh signing our stuff, i said i remembered his bicyle kick against south Africa for England, Wrighty said yeah i handballed it didnt i well i had to control it, such a nice guy spent 10 minutes with us all he didnt have too could of easily drove on what a nice guy r never forget it that's a true legend for me!!

interesting to hear rory talk about the bust up in the rome car park during the ryder cup and going in depth about what happened in that moment with cantlay and joe lacarva on the 18th green on saturday, what rory did on sunday in the singles was quite spectacular, he hammers sam burns with 7 birdies and an eagle, as shane lowry said even tiger woods in his 2000 prime would never have beaten rory mcilroy on that day.

Could not agree more, Rory is a class act. I met him in Portrush after seeing him sign autographs for a lot of young people whilst trying to eat dinner….. he was so generous to those around him. What a real superstar he is.
I remember seeing Roy Keane at the Blue Planet Aquarium back in 2000 with his family. I was with my kids after coming back from Cork where I was working. Our eyes met and I saw the look on his face because he knew I recognised him. I would never have asked him for an autograph because he was on a family day out, even though I’m a huge United fan.
