Fun fact for the daisy eyes: Those are textures hidden on the model to be rendered and moved over the models eyes during combat. They are how she changes facial expressions. Its an old trick they have been using since mario 64. But most of the time, they are supposed to stay invisible until needed. If you look at the model you showed in the 3D software, you will see all the different facial expressions on the eyes.
1 hour is a bit much for me personally, but I am tempted to watch it in intervals.

I love how every single time some crazy spaghetti code is found in Melee, some years later a dataminer figures out that it's ever weirder and jankier than I could've ever thought. What a game, where even the jank has jank.
Yeah, but it ignores the obvious question as to why Daisy's model even has all those extra eyes, lol.
@@EarthboundX 3D modeller here, don't quote me on this but what may have happened there is that they ended up messing up the UV map (basically what tells the model what parts of the texture go to which vertices) so several parts of the model overlapped with where the eyes are supposed to be on accident. It's likely nobody caught it since it looks normal if you don't go looking for the eyes.

The Pikmin glitch actually happened to me when I played it for the first time last month. Thankfully I figured to reset it without saving.
Heads up, Scrumpy is(or rather, was) a known plagiarizer particularly with his Melee and Sunshine content(maybe with even more stuff). Favorite Gamecube glitch has to be in Turok Evolution. At the end of, um, Chapter 13 I think, the one where you infiltrate the fortress on the back of the giant dinosaur, there's a cutscene that's already kinda screwy enough as is in its own right what with the main villain growing in size for no reason or the prophet spawning halfway into the ground in a t-pose. But, it gets better! Before triggering the cutscene, use the napalm mode on the flamethrower to fill the path with flames. Then start the cutscene and Tal'Set will stroll in confidently, walk into the flames, and then spend the rest of the cutscene running around screaming while on fire until he finally dies.
One Wind Waker glitch is that if ya hookshot Molgera’s tongue as it’s flying, it’ll freeze in midair then warp back to the sand. I pulled off when I turned and saw it flying right at me…

@@xXRickTrolledXx basically, I was in first person view with my hookshot, looking around when I turned and saw Molgera barreling towards me; I panicked and shot his tongue which caused him to freeze

My guess for the Daisy “glitch” is that the eye animations are kept on one uv map, and to save time the developers just hid the other sections of her eyes from view rather than creating separate layers.
Except the eye doesn't animate, she's not playable in Melee, it's a static trophy.

I'm still upset they removed the Ashley suplex glitch. I strongly believe that if a glitch isn't in any way harmful to a gameplay experience, there's no reason to remove it
well that glitch in particular could be considered harmful to the experience, since the intended experience while going through ashleys segments is to be defenceless and having to avoid combat, her having the ability to stun using doors and suplex ruins that intended experience
@@Sleepy_Kitsune Ashley isn't actually defenseless against the Zealots in that part anyway, she can also toss oil lamps at them and they'll die after a few.
Besides, the suplex requires intentionally setting up since it's easier to kill the Zealots before you even get to that door
Did not even realize that was a glitch until this video. I thought that was just part of her gameplay.
Had a similar glitch in pikmin 3. A fruit was out of bounds for some reason and i couldnt 100% the game

Small addition to the Budokai 2 Time Stop glitch, Super Buu can preform it as well if the player is lucky enough to get Cell when using the Absorption skill, as doing so give Buu Cell's Energy Barrier.

I have recently got a job as a videogame tester and I'm wondering how they let things like these pass. Maybe too little time before release?
Usually it's more about priorities rather than time (obviously you have to prioritize when time it's a factor, so yeah, it's also about time). It becomes a game of "How probable is it that someone will find this glitch?" and will go for higher probability as higher priority. It was way more common back in the day as games were more restricted in time and space in discs so some compromises usually had to be made to make anything, this was specially the case with Melee which had a way too short development lifecycle.
Not saying that this doesn't happen today but that's how it was back then.

7:30 I've seen gmod and custom TF2 maps that use this trick. In fact I'm pretty sure a few of the Nintendo maps like Clock Town and Saffron City use it. Also there's a interative TARDIS prop that spawns a room above the map lol. (Pretty sure the ones in Second Life do this too, I think there was one or an option that spawns a room behind your TARDIS too though)
I don't think you can cause the maps' textures to stop being rendered though.
I remember taking advantage of the glitch that affected level 9 Ness to die by itself in the DK stage over and over to unlock characters faster and other achievements haha.. PK Thunder!

3:33 Accurate biblical Daisy.
I had a graphical glitch in Wind Waker that would always mess up my game and crash it. Randomly the game would freeze and the lighting graphics turned into a 2d shadow instead. One time it happened in the Earth Temple in the mirror room just when I got all the mirrors moved and the light puzzle done. I forgot what exactly happened but it was terrifying because the game got so confused, I think it went into debug mode. That lighting graphic glitch happened to me alot. If I would still be playing the game after so long when it happened, it would freeze.
I remember that Libra glitch happening to me. After that I was always nervous when collecting that part

A Sunshine glitch I discovered on accident:
If you grab the rocket nozzle and go to the shine gate, on the pineapple lady side, shoot yourself up in the air and you wanna make it so you're landing like right beside the back corner of the gate. Do a ground pound as you're landing and you should go under the map. But you have to be careful where you walk or you'll fall off lol

That Windwaker glitch is my absolute favorite to showcase to people. My theory of why pigs are there is cause the pigs in those boxes are needed to make the game run, as it's based on the coding of the games. The devs never got to fix it, so they stuffed those pigs in those specific boxes, knowing the players could never break them under nornal circumstances.

i actually would not recommend watching scrumpy, as it's well known in the melee community that he steals mods for use in his "making x character viable series" for the game, and fakes gameplay by claiming it is legitimate, when it is actually a tas playback.
