Sawasdee ka from THAILAND. Actually Thai language system doesn't have final sounds. So it always sounds so strong at the end and it's like immediate stop. It makes many Thai do the mistakes or errors or forgetting to pronounce the final sounds like k, s, st, sk, m, n, etc. We just don't get used to it. But many Thai people can pronounce perfectly if they practice enough.
Why do we have to perfectly correct!!? Because it’s a Europe language? It’s global language I know but it’s too much annoying. The k s.. sound is nonsense for Thais, It can be understand without that

Indonesia uses S, K,L, R a lot. I think only Philipine and Indonesia in SEA that use them with strong. Brunei, Singapure and Malaysia use R like a R in english, not enough strong LOL
Actually, Tagalog shares a lot of similarities with Indonesian and Malay languages. Also, i kinda hear that familiar speaking tone and accent whenever i hear people speak Tagalog. Malaysians/Singaporeans don't speak a clear "R", though. Also, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore are very related ethnically. While the other countries from Southeast Asia are closer to China culturally.

Tim T. Ikr, but tbh I was expecting northern Vietnamese, u don’t hear much of the southern viet dialect anymore :/ (my whole family is mid/southern viet)
Compared to most Southeast Asian countries the Philippines is more influenced with Western Cultures compared with the other countries one main factor is Spain which results in the country having this weird out of sync language compared with the rest(although sometimes It can be similar) but a spanish speaker and a filipino could understand more if they both spoke their native tongues in a conversation
He understand them, he is just amaze bec almost of the words have the a diff translation from their country unlike in Philippines most words pronounce same in US..
The reason why most words here are easily pronounced by that Filipino guy that I greatly relate to is because English is actually within the curriculum of schools within elementary and high school. Even though some Filipinos didn't receive education, they can most likely pronounce it well due to influence in any form. I dunno I just wanna share
I think it also has something to do with our alphabet which changed from a ba ka da to a b c d (from 20 sounds to 28) which added sounds we traditionally didn't pronounce: ch, v, x, z, etc.
Not too, i play online game south east asian server, and much of them bad in english. If u say malaysia, i will agree, even as 3rd grade high school, my english level same as my cousin 6th grade elementary school, even fruit seller can speak english.
@@dolilubis5507 oh. That is a problem with the fluency. Almost all Filipinos can understand and speak English but I would not say everyone is fluent in speaking it. Some also intentionally avoid speaking English unless when the need arises.

As soon as I saw Philippines, I was already like "Everything's gonna be the same as the english". Also, some Indonesian words are in the Filipino language which I found very cool.
The first European came to Indonesia were Portuguese See these Indonesian words. Boneka (doll) Keju (cheese) Meja (table) Kemeja (shirt) Bangku (chair) Lentera (lantern) Bendera (flag) Terigu (flour) Mentega (butter) Minggu (Sunday) Sepatu (shoes) Bola (ball) Jendela (window) Garpu (fork) Sekolah (school) Gereja (church) Natal (Christmas) And maybe many other words that I don't know.
Just some information: Sepak takraw in Vietnamese is actually "cầu mây" For soccer / football, we used to call the sport "túc cầu" (probably before the reunification of Vietnam), which sounds closer to Korean "chukgu", but no one use this term anymore. Nơ it's just "bóng đá" Coca-Cola, we usually call "cô ca" rather than "cô-la" Facebook (FB) can be referred as "phây" in daily speaking "first part of FB excluding the ending s" Honestly, it depends on your language fluency and background that shape the way we pronounce things of foreign origin.
Well it's originated from Sumatra *to make it clear just call it comes from Southeast Asia. Bcs people from Thailand, Malaya, Sumatra & some of Borneo has been playing it from ancient time. Sepak is a malay word, takraw is a thai
At least we spaniards know why but I've seen Dave got surprised and I was like, your ancestors colonized them after ours so you know an asian country doesn't speak English by magic lol.

Actually there is many types of pronunciation in filipino. It depends on who or where they grew up from in the Philippines. Like bisaya, kampampangan, and many more. Mostly our words come from Spanish and English.
Agree, but well it's always Tagalog since it's the national language and even if you look at main stream media representation of other Fil Languages and culture are few sometimes none.
Most of our words, for Tagalog and Bosaya and most other Philippine languages, are native words. Only around 20% of words in daily use are of Spanish origin, while the % of English words is haed to estimate because it's more switching between languages rather than loaning words .
We actually have S K R but we did’t pronounce when it’s the final letter . When we write english word in thai we have ์ over the letter which means we will not pronounce that letter. Such as computer in thai “คอมพิวเตอร์” the ์ over the r is means we will pronounce it only คอมพิวเตอ

The reason why most words here are easily pronounced by that Filipino guy that I greatly relate to is because English is actually within the curriculum of schools within elementary and high school. Even though some Filipinos didn't receive education, they can most likely pronounce it well due to influence in any form. I dunno I just wanna share
I think it also has something to do with our alphabet which changed from a ba ka da to a b c d (from 20 sounds to 28) which added sounds we traditionally didn't pronounce: ch, v, x, z, etc.
ph did have an american colonial era just last century lol, so of course that would be the case
