That Gulfstream serving as Air Force One for President Reagan...WOW!!! Good Lord is that plane beautiful, and many don't realize how often those serve as AF1 & AF2!!! So is the DC-9, the "C9-C," also used for both purposes, in this case for Staff Transport.
Yes, President Trump can draw quite the crowd! But how about THIS crowd the great Gipper drew while campaigning for his successor, Vice President George H.W. Bush days from Election Day in 1988? May God Rest Both of their Blessed Souls.

"Mainstream"? I think that should read "Gulfstream," as in Gulfstream III, the model designation of the civilian version of this aircraft.
I think Reagan took the smaller plane to North Carolina otherwise his Boeing 707 would hit a can opener that is 11 ft high. at 5:43 that Cadillac limo looks better than the ugly beast they use today for President.
I liked the presidential limos of the 80s, too.
How different Air force one look now compared to the once in early 60s to late 90s..

IMHO, not that much different!!! Still using Gulfstream AC (newer but identical), and 757s for AF2, backup AF1, etc. What do you mean in that they look "different??" I'm a big Trump Supporter, but they will only look "different" if the Air Force adopts the HORRIBLE new paint Navy Blue, Red White & Blue paint scheme Trump wants for the new pair of Air Force One 747s that he himself admits he will never fly in as they aren't scheduled to be delivered until 2024-25, after he leaves office in a 2nd term, which the Air Force HATES, and which I doubt the following President will accept from the current traditional colors! AS displayed on the preserved on the Air Force One in the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library! Hail to the CHIEF!!!

@@claytonrowe8103 I checked out the proposal for the new paint scheme and it doesn't look bad, but I do like the current one more. The new one looks kind of like the British Airways livery of the 90's.
The 747s of today look pretty much similar to the schemes displayed by the VC9C landing 1st, then the Gulfstream landing 2nd & serving as Air Force One on this date. If it ain't broke, dont fix it!!! I do not want Air Force One to look like British Airways, or, like Trumps personal 757!!!
