This was the truck that got me into C10's when I was like 12yrs old! Also drove my dad crazy hogging the TV every Saturday morning to watch this build. Now the nostalgia effect makes this truck that much better
I remember this show, watched it as a kid. Never saw a full build though, this is amazing. This and the other shows about working on cars were my go-to shows when I was like 4 or 5, cartoons had nothing on this.
This show is a classic literally the reason I fell in love with this body style I remember waking up on saturdays and sundays watching Power Block on spike
Talking shop with Jay Leno is hard to beat! He has one of the best vehicle collections out there, not only does he drive them but he also knows how to work on them!
I watched this video one Saturday morning, two years ago. I decided right then and there that I wanted to build one of these. I talked to my wife, and a few days later I found a rolling chassis on FB marketplace. Paid $400 for it. My six year old son and I stripped it, and rebuilt it. Then I bought a drivetrain, a donor truck with a cab (1967) and a title. We taught ourselves how to use a mig welder, and how to shoot two stage paint. The rest is history. Now my boy is well on his way to being mechanically minded, and we have the coolest truck to go get ice cream in. If you want it bad enough, you can do this yourself too.
Whoever puts these vids together deserves a raise! I loved this build, along with a few others, but I absolutely hated the wait times between episodes. Some of them were ridiculous. Such as the Buick Detroit has been working on lately.
So glad that YEARS later to finally see the entire build for this truck at one setting. Stacey David is a big influence to my gearhead teen self. Without his show back then, I could have easily thrown my money at drugs or "trouble" like my classmates did. Much obliged for this complication. It really took me back
Loved watching Stacey David build this thing back in the day! Thank you so much for putting this online. Like quite a few others I used to watch the Power Block every weekend as well. Trucks!, Horsepower TV, Xtreme 4x4, and all the ones that came after. My brothers will tell you that when we're working on something i'll use one of Stacey's sayings "Now be prepared to spend a little time here" and "It's up to you to make this work"
Wow, this took me back when I watched this on TV. Either on TNN or whatever the channel was called by then. Watching him take the truck almost brought tears to my eyes. The amount of work put into the truck and the results is incredible. I loved watching this show growing up. I am still driving the 2001 Chevy Silverado I took off the lot in May 2001 to this day and a big part is because of Stacey. Makes me want to keep the truck forever.
it took me back as well. Remember watching this on TV. It took me awhile to find him cause I did remember his name nor the shows name. Instagram, facebook and TH-cam did not exist when this was on.
Stacy gives a good motivational message at 2:25:05. We shouldn't get discouraged if our project is taking forever to come to fruition. We can't expect our project to be finished overnight, over the weekend or in a year. Things take time and money obviously. There's no rush. And we dont need to one up other ppl. Theres no shame in having a small block, using worn out interior or parts with different colors, etc. People will always judge. The project is yours! Make it yours. Own it! In the end, you and you only will get to enjoy your project and like Stacy said "Drive it like you stole it!"
I remember watching this when it first aired on TNN power block back in 1998. My dad and I would watch the whole power block then NHRA drag racing on Saturdays. I'm currently getting dad's 1972 Cheyenne Super running. He passed away in 2017. This brings back good memories, thanks for uploading.

Easily the best project truck Stacey ever built. I watched this when it was live and have thought about it from time to time. Awesome, I get to watch it again. Thank you.
Finally complete build. Tried to watch builds on youtube and was always disappointed to never see the completed, or missing segments. This was great. nice to see a project where money is no object.
Yeah I used to watch Trucks waiting on a new episode. It was rough not seeing the final drive or finished project. Sgt. Rock was probably the worst build for the show. He got to keep and finish that one after they changed onscreen staff.

I remember this show growing up!!! Not too long along a saw the episode where he found the new owner to Copperhead. That family has taken care of that truck. Love that truck!!!!
I like the format of this build. I would love to see more like this. I saw a video of Stacey turning an 81 Camaro into a 70 Camaro clone. He never got past the front end and then the videos stopped. I'd love to see that build in this 2.5 hr format!!

Wow, I was just thinking about this build the other day. Copperhead was a major part of my childhood. I unfortunately never got to see the end of Sgt. Rock.
Stacey never finished Sgt. Rock on Trucks! It took a while, but he finally finished him on Gearz. Episodes can be viewed on the Gearz site: staceydavid.com/projects/sgt-rock
That is a great project, being able to do it right with price cost not a problem. Good job, I'm very envious. I had a 72' C10 Shortbed I inherited from My Brother in 1982. It had a 307 3sp column, both worn out and massive body damage when I got it. I rebuilt the trans, put in a heavy duty clutch with B&M floor shift kit and swapped a 350 30° over with a mild 260 cam & a Holley 4bbl Economaster and some cheap Blackjack Headers with Thrush Turbo duals ran short with 2.5" pipes. It would do 3rd gear burnouts. I wish I would've kept it.
At 56:45 he says the Copperhead's color was based on a 2002 Ford Ranger color; he just added more metallic flake to it. So the show is from at least late 2001.

Stacey left because he was in a disagreement with the show over crushing the vehicles he built. The show wanted them built and then crushed, Stacey worked a deal to buy Crazy Horse, Copperhead, SGT ROCKS and a few other trucks and they parted ways.
Check out the “Where are they now?” Show. He explains that manufacturers originally donated his project vehicles to the show, but that they wouldn’t turn around and sell those vehicles to the public for fear of being sued.
One of my top five favorite TV vehicle builds.... this one and crazyhorse particularly were the inspiration to me as a kid building my own project vehicles.
@@alhart6665 if it makes you happy the money will never bother you. People building vehicles like that know long before it's not something you make money on unless you're famous in the vehicle industry
@@karlsmith2570 I agree.... but then again it's a TV show that occupied a 30min time slot. You could make an entire season on just this one build and still some stuff wouldn't be there. This shows arent full tutorials though. If you see them as that you'll never like them.
This is so well-informed information on how to mount a big block V8 and bodywork in a beautifully colored car. This concept is about making the United States big and the leaders again.
Best friend growing up had a '66. Much prefer that grille and overall body style. I also personally like the drip rails. Dropped a 454 in it, shaved it to be a short stroke and chucked a blower on it (shaker hood style) Loved that truck.. He died 2 weeks after I shipped off to the army :(
i remember watching stacy doing the series on this truck a while back this build is nothing short of amazing, how long ago was this done and where is the truck now and this is the way these builds should be shown in one continuos video great job stacy
He owns the truck and I believe this was 2000ish. He owns crazy horse, wicked willy, Copperhead, SGT ROCKS and a few other trucks he built on the show. That's the reason why he quit the show, the producers wanted the trucks crushed after the builds and he said nope, I'll buy them and I'm out.
This is the first time I've watched one of your videos. While I know I would never do a full build like this, after watching this video, I think I could. Great presentation. Great job.
Love this video. Stacey made a remarkable job making it look easy and inject false hopes in making one. 😄 The truck is simply a masterpiece on its own. Great work. Hope to find more similar videos.
I had a 95 Cheyenne that ran purely off of prayer, it saved me and my daughter on a bridge that was iced. i didn't have the money to fix it so I lost it. Thank God for that truck.
The one thing that got me about this build, and maybe this is just me just thinking a bit weird, but at the 34 minute mark when the overdrive caused the transmission to not sit on the cross member I saw a different solution rather than moving it forward and drilling new holes. I would've removed the cross member, and actually flipped it over so the mounting holes were at the top vs. the bottom. Still one of my favorite builds.
4 years going 5 myself. but i was working from frame up. body was too rusted. no motor basicially just frame and body. mustve been a part truck at a salvage yard or something before old man i bought it from got it.
This build must have been years ago. Doing this today the engine would be an LT4 backed by a 8L90 transmission. Same power but saves 200 lbs over the front axle and allows a 4.10 rear axle with the three over-drive gears.
I would still rock old school parts for these old trucks. 454 big block carbed engine, or a 502 Ram Jet. But the transmission I would install a Tremec 5 or 6 speed manual.
Watching this while I rebuild my 71 GMC 1500 stepside. SB 350, bored 30 over, 4 bolt mains, Chevy steel crank, Eagle rods, Speed Pro pistons, 10.5:1 CR, Brodix Track-1 heads, true roller valvetrain, Offy IR intake, twin 390 double pumpers, estimated 500+ HP on pump gas - no turbo, no nitrous, no blower. The same setup on the 489 CID big block in my 71 Chevelle convertible (with World heads and bigger carbs) beats Copperhead with an estimated 688 HP on pump gas - no turbo, no nitrous, no blower. Both vehicles run twin big block radiators, TCI TH400s, and TCI converters. The Chevelle is setup as a road racer, with p315-60R15's on 12" wide Weld Draglites at all 4 corners. The truck is a narrowed and tubbed retired 1/4 mile dragster that's now used as a parts chaser.

Don't mind the vhs tape
Not to mention the mere idea of a '67-'72 Chevy being inexpensive. True in 2002, laughable in 2022

Best looking truck ever made PERIOD...had a couple
This build and watching all the cool stuff Stacey added to this truck is why I started following his builds. He’s an amazing builder and I hope he keeps going with Gearz! Thank you #StaceyDavid
I remember watching this stuff on Saturday or Sunday mornings on TNN when I was a kid with my dad.
The best show ever. Wished they hadn’t lost Stacy David! Built the greatest C-10 ever
Stacy david still has a show its called Gearz just as its spelled with a z at the end
Stacey left because he was in a disagreement with the show over crushing the vehicles he built. The show wanted them built and then crushed, Stacey worked a deal to buy Crazy Horse, Copperhead, SGT ROCKS and a few other trucks and they parted ways.
@@TheRoadhammer379 why would they want to crush the vehicles?
Check out the “Where are they now?” Show. He explains that manufacturers originally donated his project vehicles to the show, but that they wouldn’t turn around and sell those vehicles to the public for fear of being sued.
I’ve been watching Stacey D build stuff since the mid 90’s. Love that guy!
I saw the original show on SPEED channel Saturday mornings. great to relive the build in 2:25:00.
Bro the original came on Spike tv lol. The 00's nothing like em.
@@ajatathemu I thoufht Spike was after Speed. Then Speed became FS1.
This was back in the TNN days… before Spike and Paramount… Stacy David had a show on Speed for a while called gearz…
@@patrickmckinney3646 I must have seen reruns on Speed then.
One of my top five favorite TV vehicle builds.... this one and crazyhorse particularly were the inspiration to me as a kid building my own project vehicles.
Agreed, but they'd left out a quite a few of the things that had been done during this truck's buildup
Took the fun right out of restoring, plus the cost will never justify the end result. Sad...
What year was this series done?
This is so well-informed information on how to mount a big block V8 and bodywork in a beautifully colored car.
This concept is about making the United States big and the leaders again.
Really nice truck. It'd sure be nice to be able to plant some of that power to the ground though.
4:3 aspect ratio...You know this is old school. I remember watching this on Spike TV back in the day.
I fell asleep watching yt and woke up to this vid
Bro no way..Same thing happened to me 😂
Omg same
Same
Same
Ive woke up to this video like 8 times now lol
quality presenter this guy. he doesn't miss a beat.
he even doesn that fake laugh thing all the pros do.
REM WATCHIN HIM BUILD THIS BACK IN LIKE 2001 2002 JUST AWES0ME
Best friend growing up had a '66. Much prefer that grille and overall body style. I also personally like the drip rails. Dropped a 454 in it, shaved it to be a short stroke and chucked a blower on it (shaker hood style)
Loved that truck.. He died 2 weeks after I shipped off to the army :(
Who knew John Ritter was so knowledgeable about hot rodding old trucks?
🤣🤣
Jim belushi
i remember watching stacy doing the series on this truck a while back this build is nothing short of amazing, how long ago was this done and where is the truck now and this is the way these builds should be shown in one continuos video great job stacy
@@TheRoadhammer379 wow very interesting thank you for the reply
@@TheRoadhammer379 stacey david does not own this truck. It was sold many years ago
This is the first time I've watched one of your videos. While I know I would never do a full build like this, after watching this video, I think I could.
Great presentation. Great job.
This might be the best looking truck ever built.
Love this video. Stacey made a remarkable job making it look easy and inject false hopes in making one. 😄
The truck is simply a masterpiece on its own. Great work.
Hope to find more similar videos.
I had a 95 Cheyenne that ran purely off of prayer, it saved me and my daughter on a bridge that was iced. i didn't have the money to fix it so I lost it. Thank God for that truck.
..I like that color..I would like a '67-'68 like that in that color, only I would want the truck stock..I much prefer them that way.. :)
blue and white 4 me
1967-1968 CHEVROLET C/10 FRONT CLIP IS THE BEST OUT OF ALL OF THEM
The one thing that got me about this build, and maybe this is just me just thinking a bit weird, but at the 34 minute mark when the overdrive caused the transmission to not sit on the cross member I saw a different solution rather than moving it forward and drilling new holes. I would've removed the cross member, and actually flipped it over so the mounting holes were at the top vs. the bottom.
Still one of my favorite builds.
Congratulations
man I could watch this all day every day, where's my beer...
I miss this dude. I was 14 years old when I first watched it.
taking me 5 years so far to finish mine but then again it's just me doing all the work.
4 years going 5 myself. but i was working from frame up. body was too rusted. no motor basicially just frame and body. mustve been a part truck at a salvage yard or something before old man i bought it from got it.
That's the beauty of it...
Liar
I know this is an old Episode but what a Wonderful Build!
This build must have been years ago. Doing this today the engine would be an LT4 backed by a 8L90 transmission. Same power but saves 200 lbs over the front axle and allows a 4.10 rear axle with the three over-drive gears.
👍🍻👋
He's using corded power tools, what was your first clue? This build was around 2000.
I would still rock old school parts for these old trucks. 454 big block carbed engine, or a 502 Ram Jet. But the transmission I would install a Tremec 5 or 6 speed manual.
Such a nice truck.
One of my favorite Stacey David projects (1967 C10, “Copperhead”) to watch.
Lol Stacy was referencing drifting way back in 1998. He's a true car guy
This was from 2003
