Good morning, vacation this week, camp drive dad and I. I thought pull up one of your videos while dad gets ready, let's all pray at 92 we both can get to our camp. Have a great week Tom.
Was a long time for me also. I said it on the video in September, went to the liquor store and they had a twelve pack, I had to get it. Really was OK, like Bud, or Pabst, simple, but satisfying.
Thanks for the video WhiteRook! Going solo is something I do often and is very satisfying! One other thing I enjoy are all the old school brews from Wi. Nice to see you kicking back with a Schlitz! Merry Christmas!
I reset my WiFi on the Ipad and the video worked fine, Tom. Really enjoyed the solitude movie. You ate well, hunted pretty darn hard for the conditions you had and as always seems like you do a bucket load of projects! Again want to thank you for brining us along on these very special trips through out the year. They are relaxing and enjoyable and I’m sure as many of viewers, ill enjoy re watching them over the year. Glad you finally got your “clean up” in but every day is a bad hair day for the most part at camp for me! I’ll be in touch!
Glad it finally worked Tim, didn't reload it or anything. I did a lot of searching on the iNet last evening. Never anything that was a definite fix. Was pretty nice being there alone, but some company would have been OK to. Think that's why I kept saying, "well, have to make a few calls." But the storm, even though I think it effected the deer, sure was nice.
Another great trip. The solitude looks so nice. That snow makes being in the woods so much more enjoyable I think, I love being in the woods after it snows. You'll get those deer next time. Thanks for bringing us along on your solo trip!
Love your videos Tom my wife and I visited Wellsboro and the pa Grand Canyon recently nice town my Dad and I used to hunt over in potter county close to Wharton always a place in my heart for that area
Really enjoyed the video like the snow and as you said I would have thought the deer would have been moving. Appreciate the efforts in maintaining the tradition of deer camp and what it takes to make these awesome videos. Hope you and the crew have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Thanks Jack, we give it our best to keep traditions alive. There is just something all together different about being at or in a Camp. Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to you and yours!
Awesome peaceful solo week of Deer Camp . We had the same weather here the first week. You got some hunting in and chores done. That tomahawk ribeye looked yummy. Keep on keeping on and Best of luck always and thanks for sharing your videos.
Hey Rook, just got done watching the deer camp videos and fire side chat and wanted to pass on how much i look forward to these as they keep me going until i can go to my cabin. I just feel that pgc really hurt our tradition and it seemed to show a little in the camp video. at my cabin we did well having harvested 5 bucks out of the 7 guys I have there but for us too just was not the same. Hope the best for you and the guys as I will continue to deal with what the pgc decides.
Thanks Ed, glad they can fill the void until you can get back up to your cabin. I agree with your assessment of the PGC, but on the other side I have heard from people that say things improved in their area. I think unfortunately they are doing a "one size fits all" approach to the deer population. Congrats on the bucks at your camp, that is way above the average!
Another fantastic video Tom. Really enjoy this one, great to see another side of camp life. Certainly looking cozy and great to see you with enough wood. LOL The woods looked beautiful with the snow, think we had the same weather on the same week. Regards Mark
Mark, Thanks was a quiet time, had to motivate myself to get up an get out there. A little more difficult when you're alone. That storm was a doozy, went all the way across the States and up your way. But it made it very interesting, and beautiful while I was there.
Thanks, glad I had them on Sunday when we went out for fuel, and of course two boxes of Tasty-cakes. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and the Bees!
What an awesome time you must have had. I used to go up our camp in Somerset county by myself all the time. And man that steak sure looked good. Happy holidays to you and syntax and your whole family!
Nice peaceful time for you. This year at our camp the first week 21 guys 8 to 72. Only 3 of us weds thru Sunday. Kinda sad closing a place so full of love and memories. But going back up to Forest County PA NORTHWOODS for Flintlock. Thanks for your efforts Rook.
Love watching these videos Whiterook. I bought some land in Tioga PA as well near Blossburg. Hope to put a cabin on it in the next couple years. Love the outdoors and making memories with Family. Happy New Year to you and the guys.
Another fun video, thanks! Get a little container of Rutland Creosote Remover for that smoke stack. Sprinkle a little on the hot coals every few fires. It turns the creosote to ash and there will be no build up.
Great video. It's good to have company but sometimes the quiet times are nice as well. That was a real nice looking buck that was on Eric's camera. It's hard to get the deer to do what you want .lol Our bucks went nocturnal on us only crossing our property through the night then hiding out in a big swamp during shooting hrs which we had no access to. The tomahawk steak looked lethal and must of tasted fantastic. Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas !
Yes Ian I agree, was a tale of two trips that's for sure. That storm seemed to knock them out of their normal routines. I saw those 4 on Saturday, I normally see them in that area, then they vanished. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours.
Yes it sure did change, rain, then sleet, then a little snow, then a lot of snow, and more snow during the week. Should have take some walks in the game lands up top to change it up a little. Thanks Mark.
You guys have a great set up with feeders etc. I am surprised you guys have not bagged more . We recently have gotten into archery and have some success
Didn't have my feeder going last year, but will get it setup this spring at some point after Turkey season. Will continue with the mineral program. Would love to get our field tilled up and replanted with clover like we had about 5 years ago.
I looked at that this year, saw some great deals out there. Started looking a little late for this year, but next that's the ticket. 12 to 20 bucks a guy, you can't beat that.
Great footage and a fun time as always sir, that ribeye was insane! We were thinking the same thing over here with respect to deer up on their feet, but even days after the storm it was still a relatively trackless blanket of white. Very odd rifle season this year... the quietest and least active I can ever remember. Can't wait to see the harvest numbers. Happy New Year!!
Kris, thanks, was a fun time. Did want to get over to your place for some cards, but that storm was a whopper. Did seem like it effected the deer for a pretty long time. Longer than I thought it would. The numbers, more than last year is my guess...... Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family.
Another great cabin video makes for a long week when you are by yourself. Just as a fyi throw a beer or soda can in the stove once in a while the burning aluminum will help with the creosote build up
Great video, that snow sucked. Spots on the lease I'm on, couldn't see 50yds and can usually see 100yds. Then froze and got crunchy, try and take a step and every deer within a mile heard ya. Still great to get out though.
Papst bought the rights to the name and formula. Unfortunately I think they stopped making it at the start of the pandemic a few years back. Haven't been able to find it here again. I really isn't bad at all, nice lager with a bit of a sweet taste.
Not being able to hunt on Sunday makes zero sense to me; glad it’s not that way where I hunt. I wouldn’t like the Saturday opener either if couldn’t go again on Sunday.
I view Sunday as the Sabbath day and the day of rest. I do go to church, however I do not hunt on Sundays even though its legal here in WV. I feel it gives the animals a day of rest as well. I can see other peoples view that has to work throughout the week and only have the weekends to hunt.
Good job..natural hunting ... like the fact that it's real not scripted or any Mr know it alls. My first comment. Ben watching since 2015 starting to feel.like I know ya...looking forward to next video
Great video as always. I was up at our place in Blossburg that first weekend as well. Unfortunately none of us were able to connect. Luckily I was able to take a buck in archery season so I was only looking for a doe. Our group is undecided on the Saturday opener as well, I think we would be more happy if the opened up Sunday hunting in PA.
Congrats on the archery buck Corey, didn't care for it, but that's me. Would rather see them go back to Monday and just let it roll until the end. I rarely hunt Sundays even though I can here in DE.
Looked like a nice relaxing week! That tomahawk ribeye looked amazing. FYI, the walmart at the Buckhorn exit on I-80 always has the tomahawk ribeyes. Picked one up earlier this fall.
Thanks Jeffry, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Was wondering if anyone was going to say something about Woody, I guess they don't know who that was..
Rook, a two person stand for a single hunter is the way to go. Allows the hunter to continually adjust their position, reduce fatigue, increase blood flow, and reduce hot spots on the seat. All while concealing movement. Single stands only allow you to stand and stretch. Give it a try. Thanks
@@whiterook85 headed up thru wellsboro opeaning weekend of turkey...have a good friend of mine has a farm and a huge tiller...so will talk to him if you are in need still.
@@whiterook85 glad to hear it! I'd there aren't acorns then you need to look for cover. Doesn't look like too much on the videos. Hope all is well and Merry Christmas to you all!
You are right about that, after the slaughter of 02 or 03, never has been the same. I would like to see more larger bucks taken, (thanks spikes), That's what we were promised, and it never happened.
Jason that was back in the 80's and 90's. 02 and 03 where the worst. I sh*t you not as they say. It started at around 7 and you heard shot after shot, after shot until about 10am. Now you still hear a lot of shots, but PA has a lot of deer also, 367,000 taken in 18.
@@whiterook85 sure love your camp seems like the hunting is just like are's up in the U.P of michigan but great times are had reguard less of a kill or not
You should do what another yòutuber does for his camp shower.Has a 12volt RVwater pump and heats a pot of water on the wood stove takes it to the shower room and sticks a hose in the pot and has a shower head on the output with a hose..Seems to work good.He has a little shower room area with a floor drain for this.Seems to work well for him.
Great idea, the only problem is that they check the cabins regularly to see if there is any plumbing coming from them. Even though it is water that will not hurt or contaminate the soil, you are told to remove it, or be fined for dumping "gray" water outside. Does that make sense, no, zero, but we have to comply. Thanks for the idea.
Really looking forward to watching these....I wanted to watch them in order but this one keeps buffering for some reason. Trying to play it on the iPad.
Well was happy to see the video, good job, So are you guys done with the cabin till spring? That road up looks precarious with layers of ice and snow! Happy New years,
Because of your channel I have been putting together some of my own videos and gonna create a channel. Itll be deer camp videos with my dad and some other guys that go with us. Big tradition for my dad and I. Thanks for the inspiration.
I BET I HAVE NOT HAD A SCLITZ BEER IN AT LEAST 40 TO 45 YEARS , MY UNCLE HAD A HAMS BEER CO. IN KC MO. WENT TO COMPANY MEETING AND HAD TO SING ALL THE SONGS WHEN I WAS YOUNG KID.
had 13 inches in bradford county.. lucky if i heard 15 shots in 2 weeks.. cabins were all but empty.. lack of hunters this year on the mountain of 77,0000 plus acres.. not a shot at all on the first day..seen 9 doe and 1 spike in 2 weeks.. 5 legal buck i have on camera still going...hopefully flintlock.. great video.. Merry Christmas..
Thanks Robert, sounds like not much action up that way. And the shots can be very far away, just that one close all week. Just can't seem to get the guys in the woods like there use to be. Good luck during Flintlock! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours.
@@whiterook85 dont know if you heard but our great game commission is toying with the idea of 2 weeks of doe season again for next year.. im totally against it.. just starting to rebound in my area.. have not purchased a doe tag in 15 years.. hoping one day hunting gets back to the way it used to be in the mountains of the northern tier of pa..hoping..thanks and be safe.. BTW hope nobody gets offended but i have 24 cans for the game today.. tell the chairman dont cry to much today.. HOW BOUT THEM COWBOYS+++
Have not heard that, the Insurance companies have way too much say in Doe allocation. I liked it when it was just the 2 days after 2 weeks of Buck season. They knew how to hide at that point. Yes I do know some of the woods was way to overpopulated, but our area, we could support another 400, nothing is browsed out. You can do the buy and burn for that doe license. will save one. Good luck this afternoon/evening, a big game that's for sure.
@@dukerduke4937 When I heard the commissioners mention the statewide concurrent season in their meeting last week my jaw about hit the floor, "you can't be serious!?" The southern half of the state, sure, I can definitely see how there could be an over-abundance of issues with crop damage and vehicle accidents. You hear it at every quarterly PAGC meeting with farmers coming in saying they need more deer harvested. The northern tier, though, is on the complete other side of the coin.
@@NCPAOutdoors totally agree.. many of the cabins around mine are from down southern pa..the past 10-15 years the cabins are getting less and less occupied for deer season because they tell me they are still seeing 20 plus deer a day down their home area..heck there were more hunters on the barclay mt for pheasant season than deer season..i just dont understand our game commissions' way of thinking..not complaining i didnt get a deer.. still have flintlock..ive shot my share of doe back in the day.. maybe one day i will again when i start seeing numbers back up in our area, until then buck only out of my cabin..most of my neighbors that live on the mountain dont allow doe hunting..
Beech trees, here Nova scotia at least our camp we call them ground beech, do not grow much.Got a picture of the creepiest tree around, like it belongs on Supernatural or the Xfiles.
We have one in the backyard, about 50 at least. I don't like them because they keep their dried up leaves until Spring. Countless times I thought a deer was coming and was the Beech leaves. What can you do.
I noticed you guys leave your tree stands up all year, yet in Pa. where we hunt you have to take the stands down at the end of the season. Are you not hunting on public land ?
Are there state game lands around your area where you can hunt? If it is slow in one area I’m hunting I like to go to a different area and go for a walk. Or round up some guys and do some deer drives on the state game lands?
3:21 into the video and I'm all like, The six people who thumbed this video down are all just butt hurt cause the rest of the crew wasn't there this video. All these video's are epic. Cabin trip= Epic video.
It happens, have some people that just subscribe so they can thumb down a video the minute it comes out. They don't realize that thumbing down a video also makes it appear on peoples suggested videos. Doing nothing would be better. thanks for the kind words, really appreciate it.
@@whiterook85 great I enjoy your videos...years back I would go to a hunting camp with friends .. the stories good food and sitting in the woods had to have a wood stove ...
I have the newest update on iPhone and iPad and it’s not working on either. No worries I will just watch at work Monday on my PC. Always love these videos!
Hi Whiterook85 do u or any of the hunters in your 2 Delaware hunt clubs have any experiences or info on the Millington wma that borders Maryland and Delaware
First time we did this. The second week was easier on work schedules and family life, and they wanted to try for a doe. Know what you mean, but there are so many untouched acres there that the bucks can be hiding then seen at any time.
Had a few people say some crazy things about us wearing them when we prepare some dinner. No running water, I'm happy to use them to be clean and stay clean.

Great work with this video. I love all of the content you put out!! Keep up the good work! Is anyone else only getting 360p though?
360 yikes, I know I rendered it in 1920x1080.
@@whiterook85 I watched It as soon as It came out so It may have not uploaded in HD yet...either way outstanding video!!!
Great video as always !!!
Thank you, good time there.
Beautiful camp, nice job, reminds me of me, lol, love the vids, merry Christmas
Thanks. Sounds like a Tombstone quote...now I know I hate him! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours.
Nice vid buddy. Thanks!
Thanks Joe!
For me , it will always be the Northeast Extension.
Absolutely !!
I'm from wellsboro, you guys need to hunt somewhere else. You have 5 guys on what 30 acres? Im glad you guys have fun! Good work on the videos!
It almost 40 that we own, and there are empty lots around us. So it's larger than it seems. We do have fun, deer, not so much! Thanks Brian.
@@whiterook85 glad to hear it! I'd there aren't acorns then you need to look for cover. Doesn't look like too much on the videos. Hope all is well and Merry Christmas to you all!
Thanks whiterook, love your videos!
You heard 15 shots on opening day?! That’s not a lot?! Wow! That would be considered a war zone where I hunt. 🤣
No that's not many, gone are the days you would hear 50 or more between 7am and 10am.
You are right about that, after the slaughter of 02 or 03, never has been the same. I would like to see more larger bucks taken, (thanks spikes), That's what we were promised, and it never happened.
whiterook85 cmon now, 50 -70 shots? No way! Are you serious? Good grief no wonder you guys are having issues harvesting something up there.
Jason that was back in the 80's and 90's. 02 and 03 where the worst. I sh*t you not as they say. It started at around 7 and you heard shot after shot, after shot until about 10am. Now you still hear a lot of shots, but PA has a lot of deer also, 367,000 taken in 18.
gotta love those coleman coffee pots bought one few years back works great
Hi Dan, yes they do, takes a little while, but a good cup of coffee.
Merry Christmas to you and Shawn sir
Thank you, same to you and yours!
Really looking forward to watching these....I wanted to watch them in order but this one keeps buffering for some reason. Trying to play it on the iPad.
Hey Tim, it's not working on iPhones and iPads, ok on Android and PCs. Think is was an update they pushed out today.
Another great video!
Thanks Jason, was a fun time up there by myself.
Well was happy to see the video, good job, So are you guys done with the cabin till spring? That road up looks precarious with layers of ice and snow!
Happy New years,
No, a few of the guys are going back for just some relax time.
Because of your channel I have been putting together some of my own videos and gonna create a channel. Itll be deer camp videos with my dad and some other guys that go with us. Big tradition for my dad and I. Thanks for the inspiration.
Travis, good to hear you're putting something together. It is memories that you will be able to share over the years. Good luck and thank you!
Mine want play but it shows many views so maybe it’s my phone.
I BET I HAVE NOT HAD A SCLITZ BEER IN AT LEAST 40 TO 45 YEARS , MY UNCLE HAD A HAMS BEER CO. IN KC MO. WENT TO COMPANY MEETING AND HAD TO SING ALL THE SONGS WHEN I WAS YOUNG KID.
Not the same Schlitz brewery as back in the day, but the same can so it's a little nostalgic. Have a good one Joe and stay safe!
had 13 inches in bradford county.. lucky if i heard 15 shots in 2 weeks.. cabins were all but empty.. lack of hunters this year on the mountain of 77,0000 plus acres.. not a shot at all on the first day..seen 9 doe and 1 spike in 2 weeks..
Great Video!
Got a little chilly in here last night, Didn't? ohh Shit no one's here...Yeah..Think you forgot you were alone Rook..haha
Sometimes I talk to the camera as I would if someone were standing there. Try to give you that "you came along" also feel.
I noticed you guys leave your tree stands up all year, yet in Pa. where we hunt you have to take the stands down at the end of the season. Are you not hunting on public land ?
No, private, we own it.
Are there state game lands around your area where you can hunt? If it is slow in one area I’m hunting I like to go to a different area and go for a walk. Or round up some guys and do some deer drives on the state game lands?
There are some game lands close by, we've done some silent pushes, but not the full deer drive.
I dint blame ya for going early for fuel and propane! At least you got the ol Cherokee.
Glad I did, and I went over and met with Kevin. Most likely could have made it down and back, but why take a chance when you don't need to.
Hey bud does ur IGLOO cooler work good? Someone stole my yeti out my truck one night an ive been needing a new one. Dont wanna drop 300-400 lol
Yes, I think It's just about the same for a lot less. I would recommend it.
Tom you look like you hit the lottery every time your on your way to the mountain,Cant blame you.
Thanks Joe, I feel that way sometimes.
Hey how are you doing can’t wait til hunting season
All good John, will be here before you know it. Lots planned again this year.
@@whiterook85 great I enjoy your videos...years back I would go to a hunting camp with friends .. the stories good food and sitting in the woods had to have a wood stove ...
didn't know schlitz was still made....go with the ipa
A time and place for all things, was good to re-live some old memories with the Schlitz. All things being equal, I'll go with the IPA also.
Trying to play it on iphone, ios... says no stream... first time this has ever happened with one of your videos
There was an update for TH-cam on iPhone or iPad today, may have messed things up. Ok here on Android and a Windows PC.
I have the newest update on iPhone and iPad and it’s not working on either. No worries I will just watch at work Monday on my PC. Always love these videos!
Been trying to get this to play for a half hour. Strange. Says no stream
Exactly what mine says but others say nice video so they just be able to view it.
I’m watching from my phone. I’ll try from the laptop
Sorry about the issues, looks ok here on my PC
No problem bud. I’ll get it figured out. Thanks for the vids!
Mine says same thing
I’m watching all different You Tube videos on my iPad with no problems. I really would like to see your video too.
Looks like an Apple .vs TH-cam issue. Try this link in a browser: th-cam.com/video/lFb6rU4Hp4M/w-d-xo.html
Hi Whiterook85 do u or any of the hunters in your 2 Delaware hunt clubs have any experiences or info on the Millington wma that borders Maryland and Delaware
Don't know of any of the guys that hunt that wma, sorry!
Thanks
Do the guys typically come up the second week of rifle? We go up black friday morning and i cant imagine seeing bucks after the first 3 days of rifle.
First time we did this. The second week was easier on work schedules and family life, and they wanted to try for a doe. Know what you mean, but there are so many untouched acres there that the bucks can be hiding then seen at any time.
Why dont you put wood screws instead of rocks to keep the floor down in Mike's stand?
That was just a cover over the top of it. Did want him to have to undo screws getting in there Saturday morning.
What is the story about the blue gloves?
Had a few people say some crazy things about us wearing them when we prepare some dinner. No running water, I'm happy to use them to be clean and stay clean.
Is there gonna be a 2020 deer camp video?
Oh yes, still here,
Nice!!! 👍
Hey Tom... you guys need to build a little shower shed.
Thought about that, yes, would be pretty nice.
What roof do you have on the stand?
Where is your stand wrap from?
Got that at the local fabric store (Joanns) one time while I was in there. Not sure they have it now.
Won’t play yet every other video on TH-cam is playing fine.
Try it now, have reports the issue cleared.
Same problem here. Mine will not play as well
Hi Jason, is an iPhone or iPad, they pushed out an update today for TH-cam, may have messed things up. Ok here on Android and a Windows PC.
For anyone who can get the video to play are you watching on laptop or iPhone cuz my iPhone won’t play it
Try it now, have reports the issue cleared.
Hey whiterook. Does the chairman work for verizon by any chance.. There working across the street looks just like him
Yep. Go meet him.
I Think i was talking to him out front while having a catch with my son...It didnt hit me until he left where i recognized him from ..
KISHDOGG that was you??? Your son with eagles helmet on?? That’s was me bro
You missed out on shaking hands with the Chairman!
@@thechairman7276 Yea it was! I
thought i recognized you from somewhere and once you pulled away I figured it out haha . Are you from around this way?
Do you normally go in town and spend a night at a hotel?
No, but was going to be there for 12 days, thought a shower after 7 might feel pretty good.
😊
