PA Deer Camp 2020 - Curse broken?

- Once again it's time, time for PA Deer Camp 2020! Black Friday marks the shopping season for some, but for the Whitetail hunters in Pennsylvania it means Deer season is finally here.
I've packed up the Jeep for another 12 day stay. so let's head up to Wellsboro, Tioga County for; Pennsylvania Whitetail Deer Season 2020!
This year the Chairman will join me for the first day and half of the season, then we'll pick it back up again on the following Friday when everyone else arrives.
Every year it seems like deer season will never get here, then all of a sudden it's on top of you. With the North Carolina trip and Delaware seasons its really flew by since the beginning of October.
Does will be legal for Eric and Steve, was the Go Time Camp curse finally broken???? Well you'll just have to hang in there and find out what happens.
Grab a beverage, and a snack, sit back and enjoy!
I was there alone from Sunday afternoon until Friday morning, (another video coming out soon). It's great to be there by myself, but that's not what the true Deer Camp is about. It's having a great time with friends and family is what builds memories, and keeps you coming back year after year.
Laughing and ball busting seem to reign supreme as always, one of the best things about Camp life. Food was outstanding again this year, Tony's Pizza and wings made a double appearance. Forty day dry aged steaks where cooked to perfection by the Chairman. Seafood pasta, though he took a safe route, CampCook made an outstanding dinner, and there wasn't a scrap of leftovers. Eric made chili this year, and though it was loaded with beans, it didn't have as much as an effect as I thought it would. Another outstanding dinner that was gobbled up. Hey I'm on vacation!
WARNING: I didn't remove or bleep out the some of the language this year. But there really wasn't much of it that made it on to the film. It keeps it true to form, don't know many camps were a F-bombs aren't common.

Best day and worst day of the year.... We get the Annual Camp Video, but now have to wait a year for the next one. For the past 4 days I have been watching the old camp videos waiting for this years to come out. Congrats to Camp Cook. You nailed it on the head in the opening when you said its all about the camp life.... the hunting part is the added bonus. Stay Safe, and looking foward to the campfire chat.

Very thankful for deer camp this year. Didn’t see anything down in Clinton, but the beautiful sunrises and sets, along with the full moon and beautiful stars, made it totally worth it. Thanks for putting this video together!
Couldn't agree more! Was a pretty nice nature show this year. Had some snow during the week also. Made it look nice, but it melted of quickly.

Hello from Kentucky, my dad and I used to hunt northeast of Pittsburgh in butler county. We hunted together for about 25 years there ,my dad passed in dec of 06 and haven't been there sence. Thank you for reminding me how it was at deer camp with all the guys . God bless and thanks again

Filming, going through all that footage, picking out what stays and what goes, editing, special effects, dealing with the "get that camera out of my face", etc etc. In the end though, it is nice to be able to go back through the years whenever you want. Best deer camp video!!!! Well worth the wait. Huge props to the diehards for those all day sits, gotta do what it takes to get it done and if it dosent happen i know those depressing thoughts. Just gotta keep at it and push through the mental game. Congrats to cook on the big doe glad to see some blood on the ground. Hope you enjoyed the broken skull and thanks for the great videos! Also my number 1 tip for increasing deer activity in your area is mock scrapes, start putting them out late summer and freshen them up as much as you can. Its proven very successful for me on TX public land.

Great video as always. I thought that I heard Trout Run mentioned, when I was a Building Technician for GTE then Verizon, I took care of some buildings in that area and down towards Selinsgrove. It was old Contel properties that merged into GTE. Then came back home here close to Pittsburgh. Thanks for posting and making me hungry, have a great Holiday Season.

Have been waiting checking daily for this like each other year. I am truly blessed to share a camp in Forest County PA. Like Senior we have 7 pictures on the wall of our camp members who have passed. My Grandfather and Great Uncle and orher loved ones. The young hunters starting out is very special to us. Thanks for your efforts and taking us along with you. You are in a way part of our camp tradition. We will watch this at Flintlock camp.
Thanks Reed, good luck to your Camp there in Forest County in Flintlock. Good weather and moving deer. The Tradition is what I think I like the most. Being at a Camp just is like no other. Quick question, how was the Sunday hunt this year for you guys. As I mentioned it was very quiet around us.
We took it easy in morning. Cooked big breakfast. We always went to St.Marys church for Sunday Hunters breakfast. Just love supporting local economy. They have gun tickets and 50/50. Chinese action. Due to covid not this year. So with keeping tradition had breakfast at camp. Hunted eve. Our camp is the last on the road so never know whats going on in the world. Heard few shots off gameland 24. Cousins daughter got her first deer a doe Saturday. Three generations together her Pap and Dad with her. Gotta love it!

My opinion as they say, start the season Sunday. Give us a chance to settle into Camp, think there would have been a lot more going on.

Great video as always, glad to see you guys got one. That would be a good tasting deer. They always head for water when there hit. I like to always wait atleast an hour before looking for them so they don't keep getting up and keep running. Myself this year I got about a 110lb doe and a small one to go with it. Can't wait to see more videos. -Derek, Nova Scotia.
Thanks Derek, I think he's already turned some into jerky. It was a good twenty minutes for me to get over there and when we first started tracking it. It was hit bad, I didn't want to make the video too graphic, but there was a big trail. Congrats on filling the freezer for the year, I'm sure you'll enjoy some good dinners.

Congratulations! Been watching your videos for a few years now and been hoping you guy got one. Mountain hunting is tough. I have been hunting in the Catskill mountains in ny since I was 16. I didn't kill my first buck till I was 31. Love your videos. Its like going to camp and not leaving the house.

It was great seeing one of the guys get a deer, congrats Cook! Reminds me of my first deer, which was also a PA deer, a button buck with my Remington 30-06, I think over 15 years ago now. Once you get one under your belt it all seems to fall in place years thereafter. Another great deer camp video!
You are right Doug, don't know why they seem to come a little easier after downing that first one. Would love to see one of the guys get a nice mountain buck now.
@@whiterook85 Antler restrictions can be tough, especially with mountain bucks. Do you guys make any mock scrapes or do any rattling? It might be enough to lure in a mature buck looking for a hot doe or a fight. You could start a mock scrape up using scrape starter during your fall trip and put a trail camera on it and then check it when you get there for deer season to see if it's worth hunting over.
We've tried a little of it, most of the scrapes I saw were older and unused at this point. A friend up there did see some new ones, but I have a feeling they were made by those spikes we saw.

My Dad introduced me to your channel last year and when he told me the new video was up for this year I had to watch it today. Give my congratulations on the doe kill, massive doe! I killed my first buck ever after 13 years of hunting, turned out to be a buck of a life time... 16 point! What made it even better is that my Dad was in the blind with me. It will for sure be a memory that will last a life time!

Man what a great camp you guys have, i think it would be nice if you had a few more deer in your area. One thing for sure, you guys do know how to eat pretty well. You have a good bunch of guys, keep doing it and soon hopefully soon you will need a bigger buck pole.
Thanks Jay, we saw a lot of doe on the bottom of the mountain at night when we were coming up with the pizza. Have to do some more work to make it a place they want to hang out.

Tom another great Deer Camp video! Thanks for the shout out at the beginning. I hope you enjoyed the Deer Camp article as much as I have over the years. Looks like everyone did a great job on being part of an amazing menu this year. Cook seemed to take the pressure of himself...and who doesn’t love shrimp and scallops over pasta! Looked amazing. Chairman is really stepping it up...those porterhouse steaks came out mint!! Sean with the poached eggs over ham with sauce...all around great food with good friends and family...just what a deer camp is suppose to be. Congrats to Cook on connecting on a nice doe....glad you found it. Looked like she was bleeding well. Looks like he hit an artery...good thing. It was great to see you guys hang one on the pole...hope you got some great pictures of everyone. Such a good moment for the camp. I will say it was a bit comical when the Chairman and Cook approached her....not knowing exactly what to do.....experience will bring familiarity. Lastly the wood chopping session was perhaps the best yet! The guys really getting it done in good fashion. Thanks for the time you invest in this video. I know it takes a lot of work and time.....this is one of my favorite videos of the year and I know I’ll be rewatching it again!
Thanks Tim, The articular hit home as I thought it would, and the Longbranch was very tasty. Trust me I was laughing to myself when they went down in the ditch to bring her out. Like it was going to get up and ram them. Great food as always, though Cook does need to get back on the horse and cook something over and open flame. I missed him burning it this year! That was some nice wood, and it made it easy on them. though if you look closely Cook's form is terrible. You can tell he's played soccer all is life. That spot that Mike and I went to was pretty nice, we have to check that out some more next year.
We seriously had no idea what to do after finder her. We knew drag her up the hill- (which in the video doesn’t look steep but it was) then after that we had nothing!!! Thank god for Thomas.
