I'm not hearing any differences and I am listening from a pair of HS5. What do you think it's the main difference that should make you decide between one of these two plugins?
Gojira is more twangy, chuggs, powerful and high gain sound IMAO. I prefer Gojira than Nolly because of above reasons. In the other hand, Nolly is more moderate and modest than Gojira, but enough high gain. And so I didn't hardly change settings from default preset. I was astonished by this point. Both are incredible plugins. I'll use them case by case.
I always use Fabfilter Pro Q3 and Waves L1 maximizer. But this movie's audio tracks is around -8.0 LFUS, which is not enough much in common. I don't know how to maximize clearly like Buster Odeholm.
@@thisisgomi Honestly, using any EQ or post processing in a guitar tone comparison is a bad idea. There's no way for the listener to discern the difference between the plugins themselves, or just the way you've EQ'd them in post. From personal experience, I think the Nolly and Gojira sound very different. However, given that a decent amount of comments here say they sound the same, I'd guess that you overdid it to the point they sound similar.

the gojira preset is significantly more boxy, actually sounds quite muddy in comparison to the Nolly

Both of them are 5150 in nature. This mix exactly the same to me. I have them both. And both of them are good.

Nolly hands down. Both plugins are great but it just depends on the mix.
Nolly's default preset is incredible. I didn't hardly change setting. Both are really good.
They are both good. Just preference. I like nolly for not so heavy stuff and gojira for the chuggs :)
