Use this Sinful Passion link if you want to hear what he really sounds like in concert. This is a fancam video from his concert in Moscow so it hasn't been through any sort of post production and, IMO, his voice sounds even better. This video also doesn't have the glitch that the other one has.

@@smylyface yes but it's a bit of a timid version, doesn't really give you the full experience. I'd suggest to watch another Sinful Passion performance first. The original Sochi one or the one at Arnau.
i have most Dimash albums. cant buy a video concert here in the states though. thats so disappointing. missed both his performances in new york and in los angeles.

I would like to add some ideas: Ogni Pietra (known as Olimpico) is an operetic song where the lovely reactors could hear a man singing as a bariton, tenor and soprano , Sinful Passion is a love song with a power story where Dimash goes from lower tones to highes tones so flowless and he use different voice techniques to send us his emotions and the finish is with an absolute crazy high belt and run of 18-23 seconds in one breath (depending on which concert), Love is like a dream a new powerful story where he reached the lower ton (A1 in vocal fry) and goes to fully operetic soprano sound like an angel and finish with an powerful high tone belt of 19 seconds !, Samaltau, Keli Meken and Adai+Daididau (with his dombra performance in The Singer and Bastau concert) kazakh songs where you can see a very different face of Dimash, a man proud of the culture of his people, Unforgettable Day (gakku concert) his own song from 17 years old with the most high tone he reached D8 for 5 seconds with vibratto ! Late Autumn (or the other title Autumn Strong) and Daybreak chinese emotional songs (with very intense backstories) where a lot of the people of the audience was in tears ! So you could have the "Big picture" of Dimash with his great vocal range, exceptional voice technique, out of this wotld breath control, great dynamics in singing, stage presence, probably the best story teller in singing, with the capability to make complete silence so you can hear dropping a neddle on the floor, or making the audience to cry, or making the audience to jump and dance ! And less important he do not needs to buy flowers because he gets them in all his concerts !

'SOS' is from a French musical theater show from the 1970's. Several quite famous French artists have performed the song over the years and decades. Dimash made it his own.
He is not done surprising you. In particular, you haven't yet seen any of his collaborations with composer Igor Krutoy. Krutoy exploits Dimash's abilities to deliver unimaginable performances - entertainment we could obtain from no other singer. 'Love Is Like a Dream,' 'Love of Tired Swans' (stage performances are better than the music video, but the latter is watchable, at least), 'Know' are examples.
Dimash is a cross-over artist, mixing classical, pop, rock, R&B, and ethnic techniques, to name a few. You will experience quite a lot of those techniques in 'Sinful Passion,' possibly the most outrageous demonstration of vocal skill ever attempted.

'SOS d'un Terrien en Detresse' was written and first performed by Daniel Balavoine for the musical 'Starmania,' Paris, 1978.
Canadian productions followed, but it's definitely a French musical, and a French song, created by a French citizen.

Dimash is classically trained since the age of five. His mother is a professional Soprano and his father is a Professor of Voice. Dimash has complete a Master’s in popular and classical music and been accepted for the a PhD. Program. His range is unparalleled and he has performed in 12 languages. I would suggest you listen to Ogni Pietra, which was written for him to showcase his range. However, anything you hear from him will be amazing. He is about 26 or 27. Though he doesn’t appear so, he’s 6’3”. What’s really amazing is the way he can change from a baritone to a contra tenor in the space of a breath. Another singer I think you would find fascinating is Diana Ankudinova. She’s about sixteen and has a very captivating voice. Suggest you start with her singing Rechenka. She also sings in several languages. She also has a very interesting personal history which you may find interesting.

If you love to hear Dimash talk, you may watch 'Sinful Passion' at New Wave 2018. He is giving a little speech after the song and the applause. Additionally, the song is at least as much of a work of art as SOS, so I am sure that you will also enjoy the song and his performance.
To see something representative from one of his concert, I would recommend Know Vocalise from the Arnau Tour concert in Kiev from March 2020, his last concert before the virus shut the world down.

If I want to SEE Dimash, I really enjoy to watch the fancam versions. Unfortunately the sound quality in this kind of videos is usually not the best 🥺.

I HAVE watched it a couple of times. And I enjoyed very much to see Dimash so closely.
And I agree with you, that the sound quality from the fancam version from the ARNAU concert is no ear candy.
What I would like would be hybrid recordings with the fancam pictures and the "official" sound.
Apart from my personal taste, I would like to recommend everyone to use the tracks that are on Dimash's own YT channel. It is these videos that Dimash stands behind and I think that is the best way to support this outstanding artist, especially if you subscribe to his channel. It's also a way to avoid stumbling across fake videos of him performing in shows he never took part in, or the lovelessly edited songs from TWB.
Dear ladies, this is such a hard song to sing and Dimash nails it completely. I understand fully all the comment his fans, called Dears, have you before. Because YES he is the best vocalist alive, no doubt. 👉 This is the song of the songs for Dimash and us, his Dears. (This is what Dimash calls us fans.) This song comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' 1978, well known in French-speaking countries) and is one of the most difficult songs to sing and made Dimash a mega-star overnight.
In 2017 Dimash received a wild-card for the competition “The Singer” in China. He was the youngest participant of all time (22 years) and the first non-Chinese. Only professional, award-winning singers take part. Nobody knew or hear Dimash before and he also had to start first... and after this song Dimash captured the hearts of millions of viewers overnight. The next day, bodyguards stood at his door.
The competition consisted of 14 rounds, over 4 months. The jury consists of 500 spectators. With up to 1 billion people see this tv-program, that's generated international interest. The performances were uploaded to TH-cam... and so, we became Dimash’s Dears.
The Chinese organizers planned that Dimash would survive two episodes of the competition and go home again. They didn't really believe in him. But Dimash came, sang and stayed... for the next 3 years in China... but he only finished second in the competition because he's not Chinese (conditions have changed: The next year, Jessie J. won).🌼🇩🇪
👉 A few months later Dimash sang this song here, as a guest at the opening ceremony of the competition 'Slavic Bazaar 2018'. (He himself will no longer participate in competitions.) 🌼🇩🇪

Hello,I did enjoy this so much.so glad you enjoyed Dimash,he is wonderful and does deserve his title..He does sing with 100%, he uses his body and expressions and is master of dynamics, I feel.He brings a lot of colour to his performances, you are just riveted.You may like to go back and look at his performance of this which is my favourite,He sang it at a chinese singing competition called The Singer,when he was only 22 and a wildcard act not expected to do well.He sang this song first, and the next day had to have bodyguards after getting millions of hits in china overnight.He went on to almost win the show,losing to a very well known and popular singer called Sandy Lam.His french was not perfect in that first song,understandably,but he has since improved his french wonderfully and sings the song even better.The other song you listened to,Opera 2, was the second song he sang the next week.I recommend you listen to all his songs from the Singer.It would be great if you would react to Autumn Strong,but make sure it's from the Gloria Wu channel, as it has the back story of the song there.Also,Dimash sang the song in Mandarin, one of the hardest languages, he learnt it in one week for the show!And the pronounciation was very good! He doesnt have to learn thr whole language each time though. He only learns the lyrics in that language. He can sing in 13 languages but can speak 3. He has an interpreter with him alot of the time.

Dimash succeeded in touching your heart this time. He sang in a way to convey emotions.
Thank you for this nice reaction but he actually uses the musical techniques just like the other high quality super singers. What makes Dimash the best singer alive is that he is gifted ( most probably his vocal cord is much much longer than regular people ) and he is really a hard working person rather than staying by knowing his gift. When you compare this performance with his later performances, you will realize that his performance is developing by years.
Then you listen to olympico and its completely different. Drunken concubine, different. Diva dance different.
He even has ones he does rock, or rap. So versatile. Best singer ever.

I understand what you are getting at! He can fluidly transition between rock, pop, opera, classical, etc without sticking to one particular style. Most people stick to just rock or just classical but he just uses it ALL flawlessly. That's why he is considered one of the most masterful singers alive.

Dimash is truly a unique talent. Agreed this was a better song to demonstrate Dimash’s capabilities. I agree that Sinful Passion would probably be a good option to progress from here.
That was so cute for both of you. I’m a great grandmother. I have been in love with him for about 4 years. One thing that I have fun, is to watch first timers!!! The US when he came to New York. I didn’t get to go see him but loved watching the people who did. One of his fans was into wood , making very nice things, and so he made like a jewelry box. He came across this very fine expensive piece of wood, very rare. So he set it to make it for Dimash and wanted to hand it over to him himself!!!!! Big long store but I cried to see all the hoops he had to go through!!!!

Hey ladies that was about 10% of what Dimash can do.. He knows every technique in the book and more and performs them to perfection. Even Wikipedia has a hard time keeping up with all his accolades and at the ripe old age of 26 :) Keep going you have a lot of catching up to do.
I’m so glad you have come back around to Dimash again. Opera 2 is fun and cheeky but not really what Dimash is about. SOS is what he is most known for and so think you saw why.
Might I suggest you next check out Sinful Passions, Love is Like a Dream and then Olimpico (this is on Igor Krutoy’s channel). Each is amazing and will give you a very good idea of who and what he does. I promise you will be further surprised by Dimash’s talent.

That was the right thing to do, reacting to SOS. I think you got an impression of what Dimash is capable of. He is a cross-over artist, mixing techniques, genres, styles, languages, covering old songs he loves with new or cultural music styles and "dimashifies" them. He studied singing and composition, is able to sing opera, rock, pop, RnB, Jazz, Rap and so on. His versatility is astounding, his vocal range is unreal and at the time he sings with so much passion, emotion and understanding, that you can`t elude. I wish you a lot of more great Dimash adventures. There is a lot to discover. :)

Someone asked on another video for people to put into writing what makes Dimash make people have looks of utter astonishment like he never sees watching people listen to singing. He is deaf. The comments were making me cry. I wrote 1st of all. Those words haven't been invented before. He is like if you could hear the entire beauty of the ocean. The free and light crashing waves in the sunshine and the darkest secret undiscovered depths all in one. Unbelievable. He said it's like all these hearing people got to hear a sound they never have before and look very confused. Yes and yes.

What you don't/didn't realise in this performance (or in any other of his that you might have heard) is that Dimash has studied this piece, as he always does with all the others he has done, very intensely and paying every attention to detail. Nothing seems to escape him, so every thing he does in this song is with good and very precise intention.
