Excellent video! I own the Sony A74, and bought the SmallRig half cage (not L-plate, LOL) but while stable, having to remove the strap anchor makes the half cage concept less flexible. I also been using the super rock solid Pgytech snaplock system, so no benefits to having a built-in arca plate. Another non-cage specific problem is, the Sony cordless mic can’t be relocated outside the shoe, making it difficult to add a top handle. I’d like to give the Falcam half cage a try, and F38 clamps maybe.
I'm really happy with both the cage and half cage. The top handle Vs MI microphone is an issue but you can try to use a wired hotshoe extension cord to be able to relocate the microphone.
Any idea if the full cage will allow a Godox flash trigger to be installed? It is mentioned in the video that some flash accessories didn’t fit but.
wish they had a cage for the BMPCC !
Is there any twist or wiggle in the camera being in the cage since there is only one screw?

I saw a capture clip from peak design on your backpack - I was just wondering if the base (or arca swiss mount) is compatible :)
no it's not. What I do I have a Ulanzi PD base, which does not rattle, and that holds an F38 mount :) Falcam has it's own version of the Capture Clip but that's little less comfy after long use.
Do Falcam do a half cage for the A7Riii? Can only find ones for the A7iv and a7c. Thanks! EDIT: never mind, I’ve just noticed that the F22 mount on the side isn’t even centralised in line with the lens mount, what stupidity is that when the full cage has a centralised one…So useless for panoramas.
Can I use speed light or flash trigger on A74 hotshoe with cage on?
Not all, we used flash with the cage but some flashes might be too big at the bottom. But Falcam released a V2 where they addressed this issue.
@@holdmylenscap7241 thx for reply.. looks like V2 is only a diff bottom plate to accomdate F50, & no more pinky shelf lol hopefully a v3 will allow Godox triggers & speedlights

is the L plate compatible with arca swiss clamp?
yes it is. The F38 system is fully Arca Swiss compatible as it has the same width and the same "shape"
