@@saranebeling6375 they are so good. Each one of these guys could be a solo artist and they all came together to form this super group. They are coming my way in the spring and I’d like to see them live.

One of the best trumpet sections around. Justin Stanton, the keyboard player with glasses and grey shirt is also one of the lead trumpets . All top rate players. One O'clock Jazz Band at Texas State class musicians. Jim Hester.

Oh yeah for sure. I did see that lab band when they came to Slipper Rock University. We happened to be there for a Jazz adjudication for my sons high school jazz band and they were featured with Alan Baylock. Oh man that group is so good just like Snarky.

Definitely a super fun tune (written by guitarist Mark Lettieri!); for those who are interested, you can get the mini-score (at the Snarky online e-store), very fun to study (check out those chords for the shout chorus at the end, really sick)

Aww man! I hope you go back and watch this one again because you missed something wonderful that happens at the very end. Shaun gets the spirit and their mentor, Bernard Wright (who would die less than 2 months later) does a little dance around him. 😊

That last section is really fun -- gives a mix of 70s-80s disco, motown, jazz funk, and gospel vibes/influences. Definitely makes you want to dance.
I hear moments of the Pina Colada song and Earth Wind and Fire, with the percussion choices, funky rhythms, synthesizer cords, and the repeating melody lines that keep going until you fade out

I thought of EW&F, too. I really am impressed with the melodies in this piece.
I really like Mark's solo stuff; the rhythmic elements are magical, but a lot of it is lacking striking melodic ideas.
      Not on this one!
He knocks it out of the park...

As far as I understand it the song's title is a tribute to the Trinity River that flows through Dallas, thus the three distinct movements within the piece. It's also paying homage to many of the musicians' roots in gospel music with the name and the ending riff. I think it's really amazing how well they can communicate these ideas in a totally instrumental piece of music.

@@jcdrummerz96 hey Jordan! Yes my son and I have actually played a gif together at my school that I teach at. We had the Murphys Jazz band come in to play a gif for us and I played sax and my son played drumset for us. We have also played sax together when he was learning sax. He’s a great musician.
