I like this Maclaren NKJV. Edge lined, probably cowhide 🤷♂and not very expensive. I like the font and the blue accents/lettering. Very nice looking Bible.

I love this Bible, but wish they had done the same guilding but in a silver patteren, it would have matched much better than gold. I had to settle for the leathersoft version with reg guild and blue highlights with words in black. I do stay away for indexing as I find so many Bibles with indexing get damaged or torn much easier. Ah true didn’t think of that, but silver would have gone pretty well with the blue accents. Also I do really like their leathersoft products as well! I get you on the indexing, as I said in the video, I don’t normally get indexed Bibles either but wanted to show some variety for the viewers ✌🏼😁
Great video! This is is one of my favorites from Thomas Nelson so far this year. Nice catch on the font size, it’s a reviewer observation but I like seeing things like that pointed out:)
Thank you! Yeah it’s hard to beat with all the premium qualities you get in a Bible that’s costs around 75 dollars. And thanks about the font catch! haha trying to show something more than what you get from reading a description ya know?
Just like how you wouldn’t know this version was edge-lined unless you bought it because they don’t write that in the description for some reason. 🤷🏻♂️
I pick up a couple with the Faux Leather and had them rebound. Just got them back today and they are outstanding.

I like how Nelson has picked up on the blue letter feature. I prefer black letter over all else but blue letter next. Humble Lamb did theirs so well, so I don’t mind that another company has chosen to do this. I briefly saw this bible in person at Barnes & Noble but it must have been a leather soft version cause I don’t remembering seeing that unique gold-guilding design? But then again, I don’t even remember it having blue letter either as I probably didn’t bother to look, assuming it was a red letter (Yes, Nelson). I was unfamiliar with the MacKlaren (sp?) series at the time anyway, as I originally had thought it was a type of study bible, lol. Anyway, that’s really nice. I can see myself getting this as a gift for an older someone who really loves the nkjv but has never seen or heard of a blue letter bible. 💙
But also, I may try this one out in leathersoft and see how this compares to my leathersoft NKJV sovereign, which I really love. Hmmm….. 🤔
Yeah this is my first blue letter Bible and I think it looks really nice! I have seen pictures and video from Humble Lamb. They look awesome, I just currently don’t have one.
I’m not sure what you saw at Barnes but I’d say this is a definitely a very nice option to gift someone!

Both are beautiful! The blue letter print is nicer because the words of Christ don't jump at you off the page. Nice blue color.

Great review. Those gauffered page edges are becoming a thing. I’ve seen several Bibles like that lately. Love the blue letters.

New subscriber! I get to be the bible guy at my church since I'm the elder that doesn't mind the teaching and/or pulpit duty when required and I have a desire that we take care of and use the tools we have available to us to do the work God would have us to do. Sometimes, though, things do look extra nice and this bible hits me in all the right places. The raised hubs, the look of the cover, the edges and the blue lettering seem to check all the boxes. The downsides are the paper paste-in inside covers (if this was going to be a main line bible I would have gone full leather to avoid this) and the fact that the text block was printed in China. This last one is almost a deal killer for me. It does keep costs down but political and religious freedom should count for something and Thomas Nelson can do better than this. Excellent reviews. You seem somewhat excitable.

I prefer verse by verse, center column references, with an 11 or 12 point font and red letter in the New Testament. My Humble Lamb Shepherd has blue letter for the words of Christ, a bit lighter in color than the McLaren which appears to be a tad on the teal side. Oddly, I don't care for the gilding either, but that's just me nit picking. Thank you for sharing this Bible though. It appears that they are trying to step up a bit with the McLaren series. (Oops! Pardon the spelling error!)
Understandable, the styled gilding is not my personal preference either, but still looks pretty nice, and I really think they did an awesome job overall.

The font 10 vs 11 is perplexing. Did you ever get an answer or comment from Thomas Nelson on this after your review?
I would think a 10pt font would make the bible slightly smaller, but it seem the difference in 10 vs 11 is just a typo .However, all the materials online and their website show the font size difference.
Yeah it’s interesting. They never said anything to me about it, so I’m still not quite sure why they are listed differently
I got one, it's nice , but the pages are all stuck together.
I think that happens sometimes because of the gilding. Once separated should be good to go
