Miyaos changed a lot in the last few years, they do a lot more top game and passing than guard. Cobrina's agility and base is amazing.
If Paulo just believed in the leg lock game. Ugh. His entries are there. He should at least give a try.

Pra quem tá perguntando o pq cobrinha ganhou, é pq no adcc quem é passador tem vantagens com o juízes, os juízes entendem q o passador quer a luta e o guardeiro é oportunista. Espero ter ajudado. E tbm o Myiao pegou uma punição e o cobrinha não.

I don’t agree with him getting a negative, Paulo was dropping for the guilotine, that’s like giving a negative for abandoning a double leg and falling to guard when you’re sprawled on.

I totally disagree with some of the negative remarks below. A fascinating match with some great attacks from Miyao. An incredible technical athlete. Cobrinha's defensive skills also impress. Captivating.

People hating on Miyao here but he was the one being more offensive. Constantly inverted for the legs and back. Cobrinha was just defending. Not even one close pass or sub attempt.
I think Paulo did more to deserve the win. And for Cobrinah to cheer as if he just subbed the guy lame af. Close as shit and more like a draw, but Paulo did way more.

Nonya Bizness true but in full guard back takes and kimuras and sweeps are just sitting there I can see why half guard is bad news because half guard is the easiest to escape only way you can survive in half guard if you have under hook and stronger person is most likely gonna get under hook but still you can do the Williams guard if you don’t have under hook and Williams guard is powerful I used it on someone who was 260 and got a nice choke from there and a hip bump is a very powerful sweep from full guard my friend weighs 140 and he was rolling with someone 290 they are both purple belts and my friend got the hip bump sweep first try
@@sinskieprodigy well I think its all relative to what your specialty is. You cannot master everything. So with that I see why sort people abandon closed guard. Im sort. Ill play closed guard is I land there or when I need it. Im just a blue but I been liking half to arrest my opponent then going to butterfly sweep. If its not there, I stand up and go for front headlock. From there I can guillotine or hit a spin behind and hunt for the back. It they stand...X guard. Or stand and fight for takedown I hate buttscooting long.

Paulo should have won that match. This is an example of where the adcc rules fall short.
Kaylee Campbell if he wanted to win the match maybe he should have tried a takedown. Or a sweep. Or a different submission, or tried not to butt scoot.
Hot take : if Paulo and his brother actually bothered to adapt and play any other game or develop any other style other than the same shit they have been playing for 10 years they wouldn’t lose all these big matches to people who are too competitors and know their game extremely well.
The butt scooting and using only a very one dimensional game was a good thing and a good argument before people had an answer for it. Keenan Cornelius has beaten the Miyao brothers 9 times . NINE TIMES.
The secret is out and people are figuring out how to disengage from their attacks and to defend the back and stop their hips .
They simply need to develop more and keep evolving because the rest of the competitive pack have caught up and are exceeding them.
Don’t blame advantages or penalty points .
If he had gotten an actual takedown he would have won and you wouldn’t be all salty over it

Impulsive and that’s my whole point . Trying really really really really hard to get one more over and over and over and over again in every match for 7 years is NOT a strategy. My point is they don’t display a full game. And the minute the berimbolo to back take or armbar from 50/50 doesn’t work it’s just a slow , tedious , boring snooze fest

They really should take away the ability to just sit to guard. The standing oponent should be able to refuse and then they should stand it back up. I know Miyao is talented: his style is boring though.

Paulo really deserved to win this match, as he had a far superior game. Cobrinha didn't even come close to passing his amazing guard and mostly just defended the entire time.

Se fosse jiu jitsu Paulo teria ganho. Mas pelas regras do ADCC, ele puxou pra guarda e foi penalizado. Foi nos 5 min extras, logo depois que ele tentou uma guilhotina. Na minha opinião o Cobrinha não lutou, só se esforço pra não entrar no jogo do Myao que buscou a luta o tempo todo, tb acho injusto

I mean, from a technical standpoint I find it really interesting to see the minor details that kill the game of high level competitors. If you want crazy matches watch the colored belts because 9/10 the world-class black belts are so technically proficient that wild shit rarely happens

I wish they would make it illegal or at least deduct points for people immediately sitting down or going to their backs. Makes for such boring matches. They sjould blend a little more aspect of wrestling to make it more exciting.

I think the BJJ point system should be:
1 point top of guard
2 points side or knee mount
3 for mount
4 for back
And thats all! Sweeps only count if your position is dominant.

Miyao is a very effective Jiu Jitsu player and should be proud of that, I guess. But he is 1,000,000% unwatchable, and his style has largely ruined the sport.
