Whenever I watch the Miyao's I always think that i'd like to see them in more submission only matches, but then I catch myself and realise the matches would literally last for days each lol

@@damontan4749 Guys pull the sequences i said off all the time,it's actually alot easier to pass to north south to avoid the frames,it's just one of those things many people don't do,the guys who do are guard passing machines,the flip over to seat belt is a BJJ classic,we seen it hundreds of times,but based on the way you talk,i can tell u're just a lil hothead noob,why bother explaining this to you

Really hard to beat the Miyao guard which has only gotten trickier, Nicky had no strong answers but his movement was still so good, look forward to seeing his development. Not my favourite version of BJJ playing points but I guess that's what the rules encourage.
People wonder why BJJ doesn't get more spectators...
Miyao has been in the game way longer than Ryan. I wouldn't have expected Ryan to overcome Miyao's gaurd just yet.
Miyao matches are all 10-20 minutes of them in missionary position winning by points. Snooze Jitsu.
Matches like this are the reason bjj will never get mainstream viewership.

What annoys me is that when points started, miyao did attack for a little while. The first 5 minutes, he was essentially stalling. He could of done something, but he didn't want to tire himself out if he failed to get a submission.
If you love bjj you will enjoy all the intricate details. Technical and tactical battle. Its not all about submissions. Enjoy it for what it is.

To anyone that thinks that BJJ from the bottom doesn't work IRL, watch Ryan Hall's MMA fights. Everyone's ducking a man that dives for a leglock. Not exactly the same "meta strategy" as the Miyaos, but if a ruleset allowed upkicks, kicking the knee, no referee stand-ups... Wtf you gon do? Every time you're in position to punch from inside their guard... You're getting upkicked in the face. And upkicks are at least as strong as punches with unstable base

kurtis martin I’d prefer to pay you some money to access your account then to give them additional money to monopolize the broadcasting of the sport. If you’re paying money regardless, id prefer to support you, my fellow fan, than to give them an additional subscription. It just supports the sport never getting public access like every other sport on ESPN and such with commercials.

ADCC could find a way out to push up all competitors to finish their fights. I don't give a fuck to boring athletes like Miyao brothers, even if they got a good retention guard but I respect then. Grappling is more than score points.

He could help bring BJJ back to MMA. We haven't had a bjj based UFC champion for long time. Ever since USADA was brought in, all UFC champions have been wrestlers which is kinda sad since we have great bjj artists like Miyao who would have a legitimate change of winning UFC gold. His guard is unpassable!

paulo I think gi should be a sport in itself the games changes immensely without the gi no grips and easier to move around for me being from a wrestling background.Respect to the gi game tho.What belt are you?

Not to mention never ever be mainstream and they will never be rewarded with big money because of styles like this.....JUST ACHES ME TO WATCH and i'm a blackbelt that could never lay on his back with my legs over my head,,,ever...use them only to entrap or get to better position so i can punch your lights out or choke you unconscious. this style of Jiu-Jitsu is simply horrible, but probably useful if you are facing prison and want to learn how to fight off rapists .
