I remember this live. I’d have been 12 and always assumed she was quite scary up until this point. This interview showed her in a completely different light - down to earth, giggly and fun (and what I didn’t pick up on back then, a bit of a flirt, too!)
Same, I think it’s coz everyone remembers the Russel Harty interview. I saw her on a few things in recent years and think she’s hilarious, crazy but hilarious
This woman is absolutely fascinating. Her ability to captivate the audience with such ease is nothing short of remarkable. Watching her express herself is like witnessing poetry in motion- today’s celebrities could NEVER
Always had a fascinating crush for Gracd Jones when I was really young and seeing this interview reinforced those feelings, Absolutely stunning woman in every way 😍
An amazing woman with a wicked sense of humour. Terry Wogan being the charming and professional interviewer he was, clearly had no problems with Grace Jones, as eccentric as she is and probably a little stoned, as she was that night.
That's what we can call a good interview, humor, listening, and not pretending to know better or to be the same as the person interviewed just to create a fake alchemy
This must have been about the time of 'A View to a Kill'; apparently, originally the producers wanted to cast David Bowie in the role of Zorin (played in the film by Christopher Walken), which would have been amazing, it's a shame she never worked with Bowie!
@@petergivenbless900 Then again, Christopher Walken was brilliant. Still my all time favourite Bond villain and a perfect partnership with Grace Jones’ May Day.
The fuzzy small (minded) tv sets back then couldn't in detail show you who Grace was, often referred to as scary but if you look closely she's alive and happy to be there speaking candidly about life and herself. Her face is striking and beautiful very artistic soul
I know Roger Moore didn't have a good time with her on the set of one of his James Bond movies (A View To a Kill) and I think on the Russel Harty she lightly attacked him when she thought that she was being ignored. So I think she certainly had behavioural issues but there's no dout that she was talented (listen to her singing voice on her albums). You don't hear of her these days, she is 74 years old.
@@wuncieadams1352 I've always liked her since the 1980s, she wouldn't take no crap from anyone and she knew what she wanted and to be honest I think that most men back then did not like that at all.
great voice, charisma, beautiful smile, she has it all
Agreed. Most definitely.
Absolutely right!
@@anglosaxon2093She is definitely HOT!
@@anglosaxon2093she is pretty damn attractive. The makeup made her look off. It was the 80s lol

Her eyes are absolutely sparkling 😍
Great skill from Terry to keep Grace on track and get the best out of her.
An extraordinary woman, and human.

Grace Jones is truly an icon. So beautiful here.
Oh how ever enderearing , how lucky we are to be able to see this now
Yes, she is fabulous.
An amazing woman with a wicked sense of humour.

Grace is amazing ❤ Always inspiring
She has such a sweetness, to match her intensity. She's so beautiful, more than many typical beauty icons. Amazing Crace! ❤
She is fabulous, isn't she.
Gosh she’s beautiful. Look at her smile 😍
Gift of the gab ‘ol Terry
She's original class.....brilliant music

Terry was a tad smitten. Who wouldn't be?
Adorable ❤
Beautiful Grace
Love her
Amazing woman
Beautiful woman and naturally so.
And a brilliant Bond villain. Another example of singers who can act…..

Love grace ❤
I miss the 80s watching Terry Wogan doing Wogan, Children In Need and of course Eurovision Song Contest.
There is only one diva on planet earth! Miss Grace Jones
Lovely woman
Only the best STRANGE..shes amazing
I agree wholeheartedly.
Big up 👍🏿 yourself Grace Jones
There is a difference between being aggressive and assertive. Display of the latter will often preclude the emergence of the former.
I think she is just wonderful Difficult but amazing
Terry just had that gift of making people be themselves
Charming AGGRESSION, now that sounds weird and cute 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love it

Wonderful insight thank you! 🙏
She is still touring and playing festivals and curated an arts festival in 2022 so she's definitely still in the scene.
Good riddance...too narcissist and arrogant.
I just saw her performing and doing the hoopla hoop for an extended period of time.

She is definitely a Taurus Gemini!!! How she goes in and out of aggressive then shy all in the same breath!
🤦🏾
You can sense the audience just didn't know how to feel....
🥹😂 0:42 😂
Nobody is as adorable as Jones thinks she is
She is totally amazing woman. Learn and copy from her. You are not that special with whatever y’all doing nowadays.
auntie may day
She looks a lot manly but she is super beautiful.
Woman not to mess with 😬😬
Fine woman. Just be sure not to cross her.🙄
This is a man. No question.
Nah, dude, it’s an aardvark, and Grace Jones.
@@LightBranches I don't know what was more distracting, Grace Jones or Terry's obvious rug.
She is a woman so what are you talking about?🤨
@@IamRocque yeah, and I suppose you think Wogan didn't wear a rug or wasn't a Freemason.
Just because someone doesn’t fit your need as a woman, doesn’t make her a man. 🚮
