10:40 the magic 2 has a proximity fuse activation delay. 1.8 seconds I believe. So close range head on shots like that will only kill if the missile hits the target directly, which is kinda hard to happen.

That can't possibly be right. The Magic 2 is just weird. Sometimes it over leads and misses flies a 30m infront of the target, missing completely.
It got 2 buffs actually, airframe and engine. It received a drag reduction and higher rips speed to its airframe as well as a torque increase to its engine at mid to high altitude

if the french had used pylons with several AAMs per hardpoint like the US like to do, we could have had mirages with 4 Magics instead of 2, that would make them much more potent

The 530D has recently been doing weird things in terms of tracking, and also is the only missile I regularly get non-fatal “Critical Hits” and “Hits” as opposed to kills, despite having 11Kg of explosives in it.
Mirage 2000 have the same gaijin curse on the entire French tech tree and that other Mirage have, bad flight model, nerfed rate of climb as it should be 300 m/s and nerfed missiles performance

Mirage 2000 bad flight model? Huh? Unironically a skill issue. Sure it might not be completely accurate to real life, but it’s easily in the top 3 jets in terms of dogfight performance.
A Topic for a Video: Talk about the B57A being at 8.3 (The Same as the B57B wich has double the amount of payload and 8x .50 cals) and having a massive max repair cost of 15k SL (The B57B only has a 10k repair cost). I tried grinding SL with it for the B variant, but I have to destroy at least 3 bases to even get the money for a repair. But the payload only allows the destruction of ONE base, its just incredibly difficult to get that, aspecially in a full 9.3 uptier. There are just too many missiles there. Great video btw!
Just would like to add that 8km is the range on the deck at altitude it easily smacks targets at 20-30km. It can only reach that mach 5 top speed at those high alts. The missile itself is missing thrust but whats new when it comes to minor nations weaponry.
I probably wouldn’t engage past 8km even at altitude since it becomes easy to notch above that distance
@@Spitflyer depends on what mode u are using. The regular radar mode is actually extremely good at keeping lock against notching and even if u lose lock if u gain it back with acm(19km range)quick enough the missile will still keep tracking and u can lose the lock multiple times and still get a kill if u get the lock back quick enough. Ive had players make a complete 180 degree turn and my 530D still chase them down and kill them. Its all about how u work the radar. Would also like to mention the regular radar mode also works just fine at ground level its extremely good at sorting out ground clutter. in my opinion the only thing PD is good for on the mirage is chaff but even then the normal mode is decently good at not locking that.
@@Spitflyer the missile itself also helps with this bc of its seeker type. This is why u can lose the lock and regain it without the missile just committing suicide 😂I've also got an absolutely insane clip of me missing the first target I fired at, it swings left for a second dude he died to someone else then it swings back right and obliterates this third guy😂 i didn't even have a lock on anything at that point bc the first dude flew past me.

Hey spitflyer, just a note for future updates, I imagine gaijin will add the mk2 version of this vehicle, which is very similar performance wise but had the added capability of carrying a total of 8 missiles, only 2 magic 2s and 6 SARHs like the 530Ds or ARH missiles like the mica.
the 2000-5 Mk2 was the export model but the French-service model was the 2000-5F, and probably the SF1-C instead of the MICA-capable SF1-IR version at first because I don't think the game is ready for that caliber of missile yet

There is no "mk2" of the 2000C.
There is however a 2000-5 mk2, which is sold as 2000-9 for exports.
It doesn't have magics nor 530d's, instead relying on 6 MICA missiles, with a minimum of 2 being IR, but the 4 under the fuselage can be either fox2 or fox3.
And either of those missiles would instantly break the game as it is now, because they are 60km range, datalink capable, 50G missiles with ECCM and would essentially be guaranteed kills every single time or so.

@Saga I've seen a few F-4s go off in a downtier. Wish mine was upgraded so I could experience it 😂
@@ValkyrieLightwing yeah, in a full down tier the F-4E is nasty, no one brings chaff so with 4 aim 9Js and 4 aim 7E-2s, as long as you can get the enemy down tiers out, 4-5 kills is very easy.
to not lose the lock for the radar you need to switch mode form PD to SRC when the sky is behind the enemy plane.
and the radar is as good as the f14 in my opinons thanks to the TWS
iirc the M2K doesn’t track out of PD mode (or I’ve struggled to get it to do it)

Because the F-14 only has headon PD. It’s not a very good radar
Give it 6 missiles like the other top tier jets and sure, it can go up in BR. Until that happens, an F14 or F16 will always be preferable.

No idea why it stayed at 11.3, it's a 4th gen jet just like the F-14A, F-16A and Mig-29, 11.7 since it's only got 4 missiles would be sensible. This and Mirage F1 sharing a BR is so silly.

I'm grinding for this right now and in alot of pain. Currently using the etendard. What's a good rank 6 and rank 7 to talisman? Was thinking the Jaguar A and the mirage 3C.
You don’t want the 3C, the lack of countermeasures is brutal. The 3E is the same BR, if you talisman anything it’s probably that.
The 3C gets bullied pretty hard right now, so between the two, the Jag is better. If you are talking about all rank 6 or 7, the Mirage F1C is very solid despite what everyone says about it (it's a relatively difficult plane to fly, being more like a phantom than other Mirages, but once you figure it out it's a blast)
@@cameronporter5137 yea I was going to talisman the Jaguar as it's rank 6 to grind into rank 7 then not sure which rank 7 to talisman.
Mirage 3e, it not turn quite hard like 3c but you have flare.
Mirage 3E if your preference is air to air or Jaguar A if you'd rather bomb bases, tho you can create a loadout with only 1x Magic and the rest with bombs so you can kill 1 base.

Honestly - the F-5C can kind of hold its own against the mirage in a 1v1, but you really have to play your cards right. The F5 has better energy retention and can out turn the mirage at high speed so if you can drag a mirage into a 2 circle rate fight, you can win. The Mirage 2000 does hold the TWR advantage and can go vertical to counter the F5, however the F5 can refuse to engage in that fight and use it to pop a missile off at the mirage which can force him to dump energy early in the vertical. Speaking from experience dogfighting 1v1 with a buddy of mine.
-HOWEVER-
I do completely agree that the F-5C should not be in the br bracket of the Mirage as those 1v1 situations are exceedingly rare. The Mirage 2000C should be an 11.7 aircraft. It’s just too powerful both engine and missile wise for the 10.3s. I wouldn’t put the F-5C any lower either as it’s dogfighting capabilities when done right are actually really, really impressive for how anaemic it feels engine wise. It struggles to, but it can counter most aircraft effectively at its br when in the hands of someone who knows how to energy fight.

@@collander7766 you should be able to fire and it will switch to a solid lock you could say then if you lose lock tws will guide it to the target for a few sec
@@macekeeks3085 that requires datalink. The Super 530D doesn’t have datalink. STT is single target track, like with every other Fox-1 radar missile. A 530D wouldn’t be able to do anything with a TWS lock.

hi like how u at top tier are facing the same enemies i face in 9.3 just with less su 25s that have r60ms and 3 of them in a map u have to avoid all that area at all costs or me without flaires is dead again..... i fight with a f104 and im sick of it can turn and every game is just flying wallets with r60ms and buffed missiles impossible to dodge

Anything in full down tier is going to be dominant, I don't think that's a good argument to put it to 11.7. I think 11.3 is perfectly fine. J35xs shooting 9.7 is dominant with 6Js. An F-16 Fighting 11.0's like the F5-E is easy streets. The Tomcat has command over the battlefield and the mirage is a 1v1 fighter, as you say in the video. So I don't think that a 1v1 fighter should be ranked the same as a "commanding" craft like the Tomcat. Sure Mirage has good flight performance, but a fraction of the missile loadout and worse bvr doesn't make much sense to say its worthy of 11.7. Personally I don't see a team of mirages beating a team of Tomcats, F-16s, or Mig-29s. F4Js or EJs sure, Mig-23s sure. Of course the comparison is not alotting for the top % of players but we shouldn't be balancing around the smallest fraction of players who can make anything lethal beyond its BR.
I think its more of a problem of the compression in general and planes like the F4E, F5E, and such not being relevant anymore, I think personally the F5E has no reason being at 11.0, especially since the Missles it gets are long past their prime. I think it honesty just means that all top tier planes are in still too low of a br state.
Imma be honest, the Mirage is easily an 11.7 jet. The fact that it didn’t go up with the F-14 and F-16 is a little ridiculous. Sure the missile count is relatively low, but they’re also some of the best missiles around. Combine that with the fact that it can dogfight with any other jet in the game…
@@collander7766 Top Tier in my experience (Br 11.3-12.0) has the least dog fighting between jets. 10.7 and down is prime dog fight. Sure the Mirage can dogfight but when you have missile boats with prime radar like the Tomcat for example, makes it a gauntlet to get an uninterrupted dogfight. It's all just Missile Jousting... There's always another making a pass or supporting like F4Js. Getting a true dog fight where you don't have to peel off after a short scissor or turn fight because his wingman shows up, is rare. This is nothing against you but I find the "it can dog fight" excuse to bump it up to be a weak counter to it's lack of sustain and command. Sure Magics are wonderful but they have shorter range than 9Ls and you only get 2. Sure 530D are okay, not incredible just like 6/10, but again only 2. Id personally take a vulcan over the ADENs because of the quick burst mass over the ADENs. Tomcat's, 29s, and 16s just have more threat to them because of their flight performance and frankly incredible missile loadout. With the 11.7 Viggen being the closest thing, but again it gets more missiles for the cost of bleeding more speed in turns. Again don't take this as a personal attack, I just don't agree with that "it can dogfight" argument in the slightest and I stand firm by 11.3 for the Mirage 2k.
@@AdmiralBlitz I mean sure I think we should stretch the BR system to at least 13.0, The F5E absolutely is in a poor spot I agree, if they were to stretch the BR out more it should be 1 BR higher (ex 10.7 on the F5E vs 10.3 on the F5C). That being said if they did stretch the BR system I still wouldn't put the Mirage on the same tier as the Tomcat, but rather 1 step down. The other problem in the high ranks is that there isn't enough variety to fill out the BRs. It's a bad combination of compressed BR and a thin pool of craft.
@@Padgeot the dogfighting part is only a tiny bit of the Mirage’s strengths tho. The Super 530Ds are second to only the R-27ER, and in a joust against an AIM-7F/M the 530 will always win. The Mirage sacrifices missile count for missile quality, which is very important imo. Having 8x missiles on the F-14 is cool and all until you fight against somebody with at least 4 braincells (granted, that’s rare at top tier). Magics are frankly just amazing and so is the Super 530D.
If the Viggen is 10.7, I think the Mirage should be as well because again the missile quality over quantity. The E2 Sparrow on the Viggen is booty.
I’d always rather have a jet be slightly underpowered instead of violently OP. There is nothing that any 10.3 jet can do against this Mirage, and I don’t think that’s ok imo. At 11.7 I really don’t think it would change the Mirage’s playstyle much at all; it usually faces top tier anyways, it just wouldn’t get sealclub downtiers anymore.
