Very cool! I am using a D0VE block in my 385 build (557) with speedmaster 4 bolt caps. Although, i am using a 4th cap on the front bearing, as i thought that would be a good idea. These caps can be a challenge to get due to their spotty availability. I had some water jet cut only to find that SM had revised their caps oh well. Love your work on this and the truck!
50 years ago those 2 bolt blocks were mainly used in station wagons and other people sedan shuttles, 230HP at best now 1000 and they hold up. Industrial engineers "back in the day" knew what they were doing!
So the advantage with the industrial crank is the larger snout and it being a forged piece? I have a scat crank for mine, for a stroker application. It's nice to know that there are forged stock cranks as well. I thought they were all casr.
@@primalbeans Correct, the snout & the fact that it’s the only factory forged crankshaft is the only advantage, Also, I’m not sure there are any aftermarket forged crankshaft’s available currently in stock 460 stroke, but by the time a guy gets one of these offset ground, something custom from Bryant or any other domestic crank manufacturer might not be much more money,
Love the content, following from Pirate/Irate 4x4 and glad to see you on YT man. Keep it up, looking forward to seeing the rig come together... again. :flipoff2: :grinpimp:

Enjoyed the deep dive into assembly!
Thank you, your viseos have been so interesting!

Burnouts for days. Perfection.

To have a motor in something and it’s got 2000+hp is rare
What grade cutter? I have been on the hunt for a couple of these cranks for years only to find the non forged 370. NICE work!
Let’s GO
