Rival rounds are one of the most durable ammo types on the market! I still have some rounds that I got with the first Zeus I modded, and they're still going strong.@@hideri9220

I think this would be a good blaster for a selector switch mod. Semi, 3 round burst, full auto
Beware, the Perses degrades HIRs significantly.
After an HvZ game, those that I collected were rendered useless in a springer.
It would be a matter of time when they would not work in magazines. It can also lead to poorer performance in said Perses.

Only problem I have with selector switch on the Perses is how the blaster feeds which is the conveyer belt. The Rival rounds could move around causing potentially 1 extra/“forgotten” shot

I was only interested in this blaster if the hopper could be expanded and now that you've said it can be, I think I'm interested again. Great video and thank you for going for the expanded hopper so soon.

I think it”s like a P90, but it looks nothing like a P90. The thing has 50 rounds, just like a P90!
Painting one side of a stryfe costs about 4 cents and as for a Prometheos about 17 cents

I love how you give a highly technical explanation with your reviews. It gives me a good idea of the how the ergo might be before I purchase one.
With that said, I've been waiting for a Rival blaster that has the features I was hoping would have been in the Zues in the first place. I so want to get one.
I just got mine on a lark, because Walmart had it online for $34.97 + shipping and tax. Man! to my surprise it fires like most gel blasters but with foam balls everywhere all in all much fun!
Perses is definitely my favorite Rival blaster besides the Jupiter snipe rifle. But Dart Zone blasters have really impressed me too based on their performance, style and functionality.
Personally, I'd probably still get a Hades over the Perses, but that's 99% because it would be for my second primary and I would be going for the super-reliability of springers over another electronic drive train. If I were to field a Rival primary load out, it would very likely start with this blaster but it would definitely depend on how the ergo feels for me.

I would so get this if I didn’t live in Australia 😩. Why do regulation laws exist
It’s because of how hard the rival guns hit and the FPS of 90 - 100 or so. And in Australia the gun laws are very strict as well which is a part of it as well. Also our regular dart guns only go to about 40-50 FPS because of the regulation laws. Adding to that, Australia doesn’t even get dart zone or any of the other off brand stuff except x-shot.

It's not so much gun laws in Australia per se but as I understand more the safety standards for projectile toys. They're not illegal per se but more Hasbro isn't able to market it in Australia unless they reduce the power. You can for example get it shipped from Amazon, otherwise there's a guy in gumtree that sells them.

great review Luke and really nice work on the Hopper design, its a fantastic idea, good on so many levels, i dont know how you come up with such different creative designs for Rival all the time, Hasbro should wake up and get you on the payroll there asap lol
Thank you Luke! Great video! You almost have me converted ;-) I am glad you showed the effects of your playstyle on the blaster. In that type of play there really isn’t an issue as your video shows. By the way... snappy manouvring of the blaster here and there whilst you are explaining things about it... shows you are a formidable player. Good designs going on for it aswell... and in no time whatsoever! Very admireable.

My biggest complaint is high rate of fire and relatively low ammo capacity, so thank you for the hopper!

I need this in my life. I just finished your Hera mod (making it my first modded blaster) and I absolutely love it!
The only thing I am hesitant about is the hopper. Though I've got my own cheapo idea for expanding it using pvc pipe, a couple of endcaps, and a paintball hopper door.

I've said this on other TH-camrs videos but one week Vegas from stop jamming is make the hopper slightly angled towards the tip so it's angled so the balls naturally go forward roll forward I mean which team stops it from jamming so in a mod guide if you can find a way to make the hopper slightly angled forward you fix all jamming problems completely

been watching this blaster for a while can't wait to pick it up and your hopper upgrade.
Just get a good 1 point harness and drop the primary to your off hand side will reduce that catching issue. Not sure why you would drop it where your side arm would be anyways...
Love your videos and shop. Love the perses. Mine is still stock but cant wait to mod it. Looking forward to all of your your perses upgrades that are coming.

cuz paintball pods are cheap.
Plenty of people have, it's just impractical in some ways and would be madly expensive since the hoppers aren't sold separately.

there is no way I would ever be able to not be interested in purchasing this blaster. I have mine on pre-order already. #blueteam Throw in the addition of your modifications regarding battery, and hopper, and I can't see myself wanting to get another rival blaster. Except, of course, a Jupiter as a secondary. Maybe two.
Nice Blaster... Like how you have done the same mods to this that I have done to all my nemisis's I have sold, you so have to have the adjustable rate of fire! i just ordered 10 of these. Super excited, but for Australia I am guessing the Nerf Charger wont work here, so LiPo's all the way Luke!

I finally own a Perses. Awesome blaster. You can take out the complete hopper and override the little plastic switch. With a very little modification you can use the Perses without the hopper and simly fill in the Rival rounds directly in the case. So you can use nearly 90 rounds instead of 50.
If I wanted fast fire rate and a hopper, I would get a Prometheus. If I wanted fast realidad time, I would get a Prometheus. If I wanted a small platform... well first I would consider a Prometheus but then I would get a Zeus so it’s mag fed. This blaster seems like something that you use if you for some reason don’t want to buy a Prometheus or nemesis but still want the hopper.

That hopper release could be a pop up lever or something that holds a ring you can pull on.
Why do you even need a hoper release to be easily engaged? Just cut it off.

Please put a tac rail on your hopper expansion! Can’t believe Hasbro neglected this on an otherwise stellar CQB blaster. It’s not like they haven’t molded Rival rails into clear hopper plastic before (Nemesis). This thing is dying for a reflex sight or other rapid target acquisition optic. When I get one, the very first thing I will do is epoxy a Worker picatinny rail right down the middle of the hopper door.
Isn't the loop under the barrel a 2nd sling mounting point?

Yeah even if I had 100 dollars for this I wouldn't buy because it chews through ammo way to quickly. Even when trying to control it, your 50 rounds is gone to quick for longer games. I understand you can carry dump pouches but I greatly prefer mags.
Honestly make 3d printed hoppers. have a dump pouch with a couple hoppers for quick reloads

if you are gonna make a bigger hopper i would love if you made it so that the loading port had the same diameter as a paintball pod that would make it much faster to reload

I’d like to see Hasbro make a nemesis v2 with the electronics of the Perses,3s Lipo ,a slightly larger hopper and a laser above the barrel for quicker and easier targeting

The cost of the paint is a few cents. The cost of having a worker take the blaster out of one stencil fixture and put it into another is what they're saving.

Why did you say there's only one sling point there's two doing that you talked about in the one in the front I mean the one that the handle is more convenient but if you just say hanging on your wall you have the front sling point or can have it so I'm going to handle and in the front so you can have it go around your neck
Those two nuts in the stock, are they functional bolts or just cosmetics? Replacing the top one with a hollow bolt if they're real or just drilling it straight through might be a good sling point without needing a whole new part or extra bulk where your cheek weld would be.
I want to get a bunch of hoppers and instead of reloading the hopper, I change it out.

hey Luke, sadly my rival perses stopped working after less than 24 hours of owning it. I will probably return it and to be honest not get a replacement. Really disappointed :(
What I want to know is why does the hopper have what seems to be a sling mount on it.
What I don't like about motorized blasters it's that they don't fire instantly like the pumped ones..
could you also design something that makes it possible to attach a sight? I feel this needs more tactics!

I kno this would probably be to much for a 3D printed part but a internal hinged spring door on the hopper door (backside) so balls don’t fall out while moving 🤷🏾♂️

With the expanded hopper couldn't a port for proton pack be added onto it to allow even greater ammo capacity? Would something like that even work or be practical?
