Hey mate im considering this as my first thermal optic. I moatly shoot during the day so the ability to use thermal in PIP and use it as a day/night or full thermal optic with ballistic calculator is an amazing package. Ive asked a few people and they all said to just get a 640 scope instead but i cant help but come back to the td32. Is it worth it even if its only got a 384 sensor? Im about to watch your video on 384vs640 I just see the day+thermal combo in 1 optic as too much of an advantage (the pulsar thermion duo is also day+thermal but without an LRF i can't justify the price.)
Yeah this scope takes it to the next level Thermal finding and digital for shooting - night or day Pulsar is more a thermal with a day camera - won’t work at night without a IR torch and that’s a fundamental fail There is a TD62 - available November ish Personally and I hunt commercially as well the 384 TD32 is all you need - find and ID Both have places depending on use - together they combine the best of both
Now this is an innovation. The thermal is more target specific i.e. for any speicific target/hunting tactical use in which youd would know the organism, you want to shoot. The target (anything you want to shoot) is more clear in NV. Thermal also has poor response in zoom, low image/pixil quality. If these two SYSTEMS are combined in the clip on device, then they may work better, (just imo). What is your thought on this.
Yeah thermal is great for finding things, not good at telling you what it is - night vision is not as good at finding things but great at telling you what it is - they work perfectly together in the scope and complement each other perfectly - at long range I found 2 small dots in thermal; could then tell one was a hare and the other was a possum
Just realized the scope has fixed optic magnification. If they placed the NV screen behind the ocular lens, variable optic magnification would have been possible. But I guess this would increase the price a lot, better keep it simple and 4,5-6,0x (before the 2x digital zoom) should be plenty for hunting.
Yeah variable hasn’t made an appearance yet anyway - cost and also I would say complexity to keep the zero which would be the driver there - we have shot 1000 yards with the 5.6x ds35 version
@@owlopticsandoutdoors now I just watched a video on the TD32 on the official Pard channel and it says you can change the optical zoom up to 6.5x in NV and 3x in Thermal imaging (plus the 2x digital zoom for both). Reading their own specs it looks to me it’s fixed magnification just like you said. This might have been a translation error in the script the manufacturers from Asia sent to their American branch, responsible for the TH-cam channel. Anyway, thanks for the feedback.
does it also work with verry close up shots on rats like 3m 5m 7m 10m 15m and so on? right now i'm using an old pard sa19lrf and i'm looking for a upgrade.
I would be using the thermal channel which has a wider field of view - it’s not something I hunt so can’t say for that - but technically yeah would use the ballistics for the aim point - they will show hold over and under as well - we use subsonics a lot but generally they are 80 to 300m away They will release a 50mm version - has lower magnification (currently these are the 70mm) which would be better too for you
I don’t know yet 640 on a td would be a waste - thermal to find and night vision to ID far higher ID abilities than any thermal - have a video on 640 vs 384 etc - they really not worth the money unless have specific needs - for the same sized lens it’s about half the optical magnification which makes for a large lens which adds to more cost etc
Pulsar sell plenty of 640/480 units and the detail can certainly help with ID of the target species, I think Pard will be missing a trick if they don`t develop 640/480 units based on the tubed platform. @@owlopticsandoutdoors
They do have 640 units But if you look at any brand for the same size lens the magnification is about half - and by the time you use digital zoom to increase the magnification you are at the optical level of the 384 types for more money and no real gain - I have videos showing this side by side Years ago 640 did use to provide better images but the specs were very different back then - doesn’t hold true now Are some benefits but clients actual use and ranges needs to be looked at first or potentially just overspending

Its ability to locate and ID targets would suit any shooter - the base magnification is maybe too high for air guns, but the thermal is half the NV so that helps with field of view, using the combined view makes acquisition very quick and then you can ID too - plus ballistics too (works on either setting) - its going on my personal rifle, which is subsonic and we shoot out to some 300-400m with it

It seems to be the flaw with the dual vision scopes. 1 reticle so that you can get a perfect zero on the thermal for mm perfect airgun shooting is what I want! Amazing product though.
No not a flaw, just 2 lens that have to be co aligned (zerod) at a certain distance which varies depending on the shooter - even the scope height is different per gun - however the ballistics are programmed with the scope height differences so it’s a single point of aim for the ballistics aiming point.
This is rad. Can you go through the menu and maybe test out the ballistic calculator?

does the cross need to be zeroed separately - thermal and nocto? because in the film it is not in the same place in PIP

We use 45-70 and 8.6 subs with ours to quite long ranges 300m :)

Just zeroed mine yesterday. Be aware that I had to zero both lenses as the thermal zero is different from the night vision zero.
