    You're basically spot on.
A hidden cost of NV is getting a very good torch or 2 (850 and 940) and the mounts for them.
One technical point {or 2) as far as not seeing the back ground with nv is rhat the picture adjusts so that the highly illuminating object is not glaring or washing out...when adjustment is made...the backround goes darker.
If you get a torch with a focusable beam...you can avoid this situation..albeit see less surrounds as youre looking at a narower fov. Field of view.
Ive shot puksar xm50 thermal for a while now. Identifying animal that arent moving can be an issue....ie...is that a fox or a lamb laying under that tree at 200 yards.
So...im thinking of getting a nv scope for identification.
I use sphuhr qr mounts ...so i can swap digital scopes from rifle to rifle..
If you are shooitng longer ranges you'll definitely want lrf and ballistics...in scope or strelok etc.
Nb. Foxes still take off when you touch the trigger when using a thermal too....😅

Optical zoom on digital devices sounds excellent...
    As would
    Windage ballistics ..

Thermal is the standout at night. Got the Vidar 660L dual FL LRF, got a Pard day night too.
With the solid quick release mounts you can swap out scopes in under a minute theses days.
    Well presented video.
Local content too, huntthenight seems to support a bit of action around the place ( including my bank account)

I try and keep Ben and Hunt the Night away from my wallet at all times, I’m just not always successful. 🤣
The only thing missing on the Vidar is an aftermarket mount from someone like Bobro.
Thanks for the vote for the video. 👍

Great video. Very informative. I have the Alpex 4K but shoot in both types of environments and your video was spot on. Saving for a thermal atm. I liked the Vidar picture quality. I assume the picture is even better through the actual scope ?

Thank you for the feedback. Yes the Vidar is clearer in real life. TH-cam never does them justice.

When I introduce new hunters into the dark side I start with NV because of the cost.
I show them thermal after setting the hook.
    Great video.

Thanks. NV is a great entry point to the dark arts. 👍
