@@owlopticsandoutdoors appreciate all your hard work brother. im sure ill be the talk of the range next week and ill make sure i send the sales your way. man i love this scope!!!
No you don’t - but if you want to properly use ballistics you need proper data - same as a drop chart or any scope used for dialling etc - the figures on the box aren’t really usable - can also just take the figures and calibrate it to a range manually as well
At 4:00 he says (mutters, really) something about A and B, evidently two different sets of parameters (?). What's that about? I've played it over and over and can't make it out. Nothing like it in the user manual.
If ya in New Zealand give us a call - I said you need to make sure that the profile you are editing is the right one - ballistics A to zeroing A - pointless zeroing in say B and adjusting the ballistics under A they need to match as that’s how it knows
My Parameters screen doesn't display a "Ballistic Data" profile. It looks just like the pic on p.32 of the User Manual, top line is Velocity. I understand that's a glitch awaiting an update, but I'm curious how the screen in your videos, made a year ago, has the Profile line? My version is 7/17/2023, GK384#QTDGTF0509. I see there is a 3/28/24 update available, but the manual says "Upgrading firmware may cause damage to the equipment" so . . . if that's so, maybe I'm better of living with what I've got?
@topdog250 what country are you in - I can’t give advice on something I can’t fix - not that I think something can go wrong, but I don’t know everything I need to about your scope - so can’t risk it if I can’t simply get the scope myself
As soon as you dial it will freeze, no clicking to do that - doesn’t matter if you turn left or right, just hold still and turn then you can move the way you need to and click to next - to save yes its a long press
At 6:21 he's in Ballistic Data, and says "if you wanna get out (unintelligible)" Can anybody tell me what he says there? Lowers voice, must be assuming we know, but navigation in the menus is a real bear for me.
My DS35-70 lrf has a very grainy image while looking thru the scope. How do i get a clear image while looking thru the scope. I have not found anything on getting a clear image.
I really wouldn’t know without seeing a image - can be environment - fog etc, stuff on lens, IR lens pulled too far out and you see the laser - 940 is grainer than 850 - have a side by side video on that - best to talk to who you got the unit off
There is very much a movement to having night vision scopes (DS35) to shoot and ID fully (thats a big thing) and using a thermal handheld to find the animal - its more effective, cheaper (about same price as just a scope) and safer - I’ll have a video done soon on this - ensure that both devices have a Laser Rangefinder - the scope must have ballistics too - I hunt commercially as well and that is how we do it
Thanks, very imformative. I'm debating the DS35 or NV008S for a few rifles, a FX Dreamline tact., a CZ452 22LR and a Tikka T3 in 223. I've never liked the overhanging look of the 008's, nor the minimal eye relief/need to have eye pushed up against rubber eye cover, both of which are solved with the DS35. But I'm wondering if the DS35 looks and feels a bit bulky on a 22 or other rimfire though? Also, what's the rifle you're using for this demo?
It’s all round better than the 008 except for size and feels fine on my 22 - it’s similar to larger normal scopes really - 50mm OD on the objective - eye relief makes it feel natural and the focus free is gold. The rifle is a Cz 457 LRP - the shorter barrel prob contributes to that look actually
@@owlopticsandoutdoors Thanks for replying. Certainly looks better than the 008. I’d imagine you could swap it between rifles if using picatinny mounts fairly easily. Only disadvantage I see with them is the digital zoom range and perhaps slightly lower resolution due to not using the full sensor area for the shiftless zero.
Yep it is - used the 008 S since it came out as well - just need good 30mm rings and away you go for changing, either QD or something like Nightforce rings and a torque wrench - used both options and it works great - the NF option gets around any issues with different sized rails too - we have shot 750m with them, not a issue as the resolution is very clear and mag range works well
@@owlopticsandoutdoors Thanks, I worked it out eventually. I needed to scroll down to the Save parameter and long press on that to change the profile. Thanks for your response

Hi, just a question, to get the screen frozen, do I need a long or a short press for it ?! At the end for ' save ' you said a long press, it is clear.

When zoomed out, what is its field of view - how wide can you see?
Have a video showing this - Comparing the PARD DS35 50 (4x) vs 70 (5.6x)

How did you freeze the screen ?
Just change 1 digit on x or y then it freezes until you are done
How do you change profiles from A=> B?
Go to the reticle adjustment menu - where you zero and change it there. On the main screen for shooting you can see what profile are on as well
