I might actually consider buying one. I have heard increasingly more and more negative opinions about you know who. The fun thing about action cams is that you can use them on all kinds of different things.

Props for you being honest about it being an ad. The onboard mic still doesn't sound amazing, something I have to give to GoPro is that I can record in camera with no messing and it comes out perfect. Until the GoPro doesn't work of course! Great vid.

Honestly, is it for bikers, though? I'm flabbergasted that no company came out with dual lense (front and back) camera yet that'd mount one lense on the back of the helmet and the other one on the front using flat cable. It'd be hard to notice, aerodynamic, the weight could be evenly distributed, it wouldn't protrude from the chin hitting things like traditional action cameras do, and it could still stitch the image together creating the illusion of 360° view. But somehow we get those cumbersome boxes instead.

I get what you're saying, and I'd ABSOLUTELY love to see Cardo integrate a helmet cam option like this (for the first few models of front-back mounted cams we'd have to deal with our current 3M VHB Chin Mount Mounts, but after the idea has 2 or 3 models in the consumer space helmet makers kike HJC may integrate a thicker chin bar so they can make a square 1x1x0.5 inch recess into the helmet, and likewise maybe a flush mount solution at back of helmet with a 1x1x1 inch square recess (thickening the back area too))
Only comment: It wouldn't be a 360 chop-up in video software like Adobe Premiere, because there would be a human-sized head making a gap between the front/back cameras so the side-to-side wouldn't be as seamless as the Insta360 solutions where the side-to-side is pretty seamless.
I imagine for a 3rd or 4th iteration you'd want side-cameras on the helmet, and instead of thickening the helmet at the ear/jaw sides of the helmet, you have the side cameras as JUST cameras, and the processing chip/processing components are done where a Cardo Packtalk Slim has it's bulky box in current models, at the back of helmet but flush to the bottom-rim of the helmet.
This could be an add-on to models 2/3 of the front-back camera, or just be what sets models 4/5 apart from the predecessors. The side cams could be built onto flexible PCB and the camera body itself is not directly on the PCB (otherwise it'd be too rigid/strengthening the flexibility of the thin PCB) but the wires go to PCB of course, and the Camera Body (lens, protective cover, etc etc) could be mounted onto thin-ish flexible silicone ring or rubber ring (think rubber grommet material) so that the Camera Body doesn't get affected by whichever way the thing PCB gets mounted/curved onto the helmet. Because with a soft flexible silicone ring or rubber ring the Camera Body could be independent of the PCB aside from the power and data connections going to the PCB.
TL;DR This idea is doable, I hope to see Klim, Alpinestars (hopefully not them, they'll likely just patent the shit out of it and have it be proprietary or closed ecosystem), Cardo (hopefully, to break into the video space, would help push their comms units too since they could control the audio processing for their camera system natively, taking away the "need" for external mics with action cameras), Insta360 (would probably be a jump out of their wheelhouse, but they have cameras and motorcycle niche on point, they could solidify that even more if when you heard GoPro you'd associate it with being the Sena of motorcycle comms systems, slightly good, has flaws, doesn't work as well, and is locked down and over marketed. If Insta360 would make a "Line 2" or "X-4 Full Camera System" they'd be as synonymous with motorcycle helmets as Cardo is.
I expect and hope to see this idea by 2035, come on Insta360, you guys already have a strong motorcycle niche on lock, go and solidify yourselves by making GoPro and DJI just completely irrelevant for Motorcyclists that want that great camera footage for both motovlogging with a great POV, but also great dashcam.
Cardo, I implore you guys to also develop this idea too, you've made deals where HJC cock-blocked non-Cardo units and even cock-blocked Cardo Packtalk Slim units from being installed before. I'm sure you could leverage your Helmet Manufacturer connections to make a clean and integrated solution like all the abundant helmets with comms-speaker cut outs in them today. You guys have the helmet manufacturer connections and fantastic audio, all Insta360 has is a growing niche of motorcyclist fans, they don't have prior Audio and Helmet capabilities, you do, you (Cardo) could really lock yourselves down here and let Sena just waste away with their Shoei specific helmets that we (cardo lovers that want nice not-closed-down quiet helmets) both want and despise, make Sena and their closed-ecosystem completely irrelevant by blowing their shoddy quality out of the water in a whole new way.

I've been looking for something like this for a long time! More for security/safety/accountability reasons, than for motovlogging. That way with it being on your helmet front & back, you could use it on multiple bikes instead of getting installed dashcams mounted for each bike.

@@ivecentral And not only when riding but when you go to pay on a petrol station or go shopping, etc, as long as you're still in your helmet and people don't even see the camera - it's just that extra layer of safety in case of issues. Thank you for this video... the settings seem amazing enough to make me consider buying one... The only thing I find that the GoPro 11 has in its favor is the built in GPS (which I need) and would rather not have an external item and the GoPro 12 which has bluetooth which lets me use my Sena's (Camera 10c Pro, 30k, SMH10 and hopefully soon the 50c camera) for sound and comes out in great quality. I know people have done reviews of the 12 with ear pods and the like and the quality is low but I have never had an issue sound wise with the Sena's (better quality parts I guess). But hardly anyone actually really properly wants to review this feature of the GoPro 12.... I would on my motorcycle channel (under a different name than the one I am using to post here) but my channel is not for reviewing accessories. LOL
Anyway the Ace Pro really does seem like a good option for just A roll recording videos. I am very interested so thank you for the video.

Next time I was using pure video and it was better, even I forgot to turn on stabilization on. It was solid. Didn’t fail or freeze at any point. I use to have GoPro 9. Didn’t regret to buy Ace pro.

For a casual weekend warrior, the form factor of these new additions is just more of the same.
I really just would like something more sleek and less obnoxious than the current gopro or this, even with less functionality. Its just a mess on a helmet.
My very old contour 1080p was better suited, just as big just in a different profile. My hero session as well. These big things hook on branches and all sorts riding enduro. No beuno.

And all action cams fail when it comes to providing audio for bikers. Even this one. As soon as you place a lav mic in the helmet, i.e. directly in the chin area, to reduce wind noise and record your own comments, it gets very lonely with the action cams. Not a single action cam can simply plug in a lav mic and deliver clean sound. You need the expensive media mod from GoPro or the new DJI adapter from DJI to get clean audio. Not even the Osmo Action 3 delivers undistorted - i.e. usable - sound. Insta also requires an additional adapter and the sound is disappointing to say the least.
