I Use this DS-2CV2Q21FD-IW in house and office (indoor) the quality is good can adjust Basic, Standard and HD Can monitor from mobile and PC (Mac too) will try NVR later
Thanks its a useful video. Im using the same model as yours and im using it on my mobile phone. The audio (microphone) does not work and i do not hear any sound on my phone. Any idea how to troubleshoot?
It's been while since I had to solve this, but as best I recall it had to do with going into iVMS-4200 and the firmware page of the cam under the "Image" menu tree. Then Video & Audio. Here make sure your audio input is "Mic In" for both the main stream and sub stream. The stream is set at the top, under "Stream type". Also make sure the sub stream has the Video Type set to "Video&Audio". That I believe is all there was to getting it going from a laptop. You may want to try getting it going there first before chasing it over a phone.
Hi, sorry for my ignorance if I missed the info, but it is possible to have this camera recording in Hikvision NVR and be accessible through internet cloud service at the same time, so using ie. android app anywhere through internet ? Thanks.
Sorry, don't know that from experience. It does record to NVR because that's how mine are setup, but I don't use their cloud service so not sure if both configurations are compatible or not.
Thank you! How do you even knew about default password? Their support stated that default pass is "12345" and mobile app requires you to change it on first connect. But in fact it's the combination you provided and I could only change it with iVMS.
This device activation approach I believe started around firmware 5.3.0 for all Hikvision IP cameras. Its something they have documented, and why they started printing the info on the serial number sticker for this process. You can also do device activation with the SADP tool.
You would use the SADP tool I showed in the video, there's a forget password option you can see in the video screen shot of this tool in the lower right. The file that you export here has to be sent to your Hikvision dealer and they can reset it. I am not aware of any other method to reset the password with the more modern and secure firmware.
We set up this type of camera. The problem is when we install in the ceiling the display is upside down. Is there any config.to let it work in a corect view?
Ceiling mount is one of the options shown in the installation pamphlet, and the cam should have come with a ceiling mount base adapter as well. Step 3 in the pamphlet talks about rotating the angle to the view you want, if that is not enough you may have to look into the Hikvision iVMS-4200 app for a rotate type option in the firmware instead. I've never mounted one on the ceiling myself.
This was old economy level HIK tech back when this video was first made. Now it's discontinued old economy level HIK tech. ;-) All it supports is the 2.4GHz band of WiFi, though it can do 802.11n it cannot do anything newer like 5GHz 802.11ac or 802.11ax. Even so, the TP-Link Deco Mesh system you mention does still support 2.4GHz on the 802.11n band, you just have to configure/enable your setup for a separate SSID to allow it.
Great video! Simple and easy to follow. May I also know where and how much did you buy it? A link will do. I'm just scared of buying fake one's. Thanks in advance! :)
If those changes resulted in a new subnet, or different IP address range, then yes. You could use the videos coverage of the SADP and iVMS-4200 tools to check. SADP in particular can locate your cam regardless of the router.
Thank you! Cuz I installed it at work and it doesnt connect as at home, Uhm last Question. Should I hard restart it and install it at home? and is the hard restart inside the camera?
You could use iVMS-4200 to access the cam firmware and do a factory reset of the firmware (under System Maintenance menu). But while I don't think you need to do this, it won't hurt anything and just put you back to the state the video goes over anyway.
Only to a HikVision brand NVR. I do have such an NVR setup myself, using wired Ethernet rather than WiFi. Again you have to use the lower level tool iVMS-4200 to configure this. I'd also recommend the latest firmware (link in the description).
@@DrShock Thank you for your reply! I can buy a NVR with confidence now. Your video really helped me in setting the camera up. The included manual is garbage.
I cant get it to connect to ivms? says user pass wrong and im for sure im putting in admin and the verification code correct! id like to get into the settings as at the minute there is no sound, only hear sound when in 2 way. any help thanks
If its brand new and never used, those instructions in the vid for using the info on the Hikvision sticker on the webcam are what will get you in for the first time. If that's not working it can only be one of two things - its used and already has a password set that you'll need to assertain, its new but you accidentally did not follow the verification process exactly. Remember to combine "admin" + the verification code as described in the vid at 5:06
you didnt show it running to a desktop on any PC or MAC so I dont know if it can do it. All i know so far is that it's a cloud (hk's) based product operable over the net by an app on a mobile in any configuration. I would want multi-user & multi-platform access. Father, Daughter, Mother, Son. The video is great, I am not complaining you answered my techhead questions about getting at the lower level BUT users?? I am buying it anyway and you helped me to decide, it's just my nagging question as I saw it "added" to the HK cloud in another clip by a punter, so I dont know whether any "adding or programming" action is mutually exclusive,.ie., If I "out of the box" add it to an Android app, can I THEN add it to my normal IP network/etc??? or will I be stuffed by the PRC :-) . Thanks
This cam is super low end, low function, intended for novices and yes intended for cloud use only. However, the point in the video was how to use them outside of the cloud and I have had no issues hooking them wired Ethernet to a Hikvision NVR. But you would find use via PC or Mac problematic. The main reason being that they have no browser plugin to view the feed so you would have to find some compatible software similar to Hiks iVMS to view them.
I used it wired, as that's the most stable for continuous streaming to an NVR for any low cost cam. But I did try it out on 802.11n and had no problems with it, though I was always within line of sight of the WiFi access point
Thank soo much!!!!!!!!!!!! i was freaking out trying to figure out the password!! Liked and Subscribed!!!
Thanks. Got hard time finding ipcam without cloud(which I took cloud as a security threat), now I bought these and use them with cloud disabled.

Hi! It says that it doesnt support 5g. How do i do this if we are on deco mesh system. The area where i want camera is far from main router

Thanks, I put a search link in the description for eBay on these cam models.
Question: If you changed wireless network or router of the Camera, will it not work anymore?

Hi there, could you tell me wich program you used to configure the cam ?
Sure I go over how to do this in the video, it's available only from Hikvision and called iVMS 4200

Can I power this one via poe?
Answered at 1:02
@@DrShock thank you
Is this a wireless camera indivdually connected to the router
You can wire it or it can also connect over Wi-Fi
thankyou
How is the WiFi reliability?
I used it wired, as that's the most stable for continuous streaming to an NVR for any low cost cam. But I did try it out on 802.11n and had no problems with it, though I was always within line of sight of the WiFi access point
This save me find IPC password, you're awesome! Do you know how can I enable web interface to download video from sd-card?
The web gui cannot be enabled on these models, that was what drove me to make the vid. But you can use the Hikvision iVMS-4200 app.
OK Thanks. I used iVMS-4200 app too. I like access via web UI it's very comfortable. Maybe I have to enable FTP to access sd-card instead :)
there is not a known hack for this model no.
How to remove sd card?
On back of the "ball", rotate up so you can expose port cover. Check your Hikvision instruction fold out for the pictures.
