Hi! Here's a new tutorial to make these cute flower pots or baskets that you can turn into Sunflower coasters. They are super quick to make and you can use different colours to make different sets to gift 💖 Or if you are feeling creative you can use the sunflowers to make a garland! The possibilities are limitless 🥰 I really recommend using cotton yarn as they hold their shape better and absorb water.

I had such a hard time getting mine to lay flat. I’m not sure if it’s because my yarn is slightly bigger, but what I did was make the flower but with 10 petals and instead of 4 dc for the petal in the last round I did 3 dc. Hope this helps anyone else struggling with the same!
Oh no 😟 I’m so so sorry about that, I tend to crochet really tight and I needed a bigger hook to make these. You could also work less dc on the petals. I hope this helps but I’m glad you made it work for you😍

Great pattern! Possible suggestion for anyone else who is bothered that the petals have uneven gaps at the bottom: at the last round after each petal, instead of doing a ch1 sc1 ch1 just in the sc, do a ch1, then a sc at both the sc and the chain after it (like an inc sc) and a ch1. That way it look more symmetrical in my opinion!

This is such a fun project. My sunflowers don't lie flat. I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing to cause that.
Thank you so much 💓 💗 if they are not flat I'm guessing there are extra stitches or the the crochet hook is too small. Another thing you could do is block them so you can give them the shape that you want 💖 I hope this helps!🥰

I made it well but it is folding and not sitting straight 😔
You can wash them with a bit of wool detergent and let them dry with pins around them so you can give the coasters the shape you need 😊 I hope this helps!
And for the basket to stay up, the crochet hook you use needs to be smaller than the yarn you using to create a sturdy fabric 💖

The pot is too small to hold 4 coasters
In the video I show I fit 3 coasters, and there's still a bit of space for a 4th one. Maybe your gauge is different from mine so your basket turned a bit small? I would recommend in that case, add an extra round of increases to the basket to make it bigger. I hope this helps!💖
