Love this sunflower, I’ve been crocheting for 20+ years and tried to follow your video on your circle. The numbers were not adding up. This is what I did (hoping this will clarify for others too!) Rd1: 1db cr in magic circle 12xs. Slip stitch into first db cr chain 2 (chain 2 does not count as a stitch)= 12dc Rd 2: 2db cr in each stitch (rpt 12xs) Slip stitch into first db cr chain 2 (chain 2 does not count as a stitch) = 24dc Rd 3: 1db, 2db (rpt 12xs) Slip stitch into first db cr chain 2 (chain 2 does not count as a stitch) = 36 Rd 4: 1db, 1db, 2db (rpt 12xs) Slip stitch into first db cr chain 2 (chain 2 does not count as a stitch) = 48 Hopefully that makes sense. It worked for me doing it this way. Rather than following the yourubers pattern.
Written pattern for those who want to follow in their own time! R1: magic ring. Ch 3 (not counted as stitch). DC 12 times into ring. SlSt into top of chain 3. (12 DC) R2: Ch 3. DC INC in next stitch. x12. SlSt into top of chain 3. (24 DC) R3: Ch 3. DC in first stitch. DC INC in next stitch. (DC, DC INC) x11. SlSt into top of chain 3. (36 DC) R4: Ch 3. DC in first and second stitch. DC INC in 3rd stitch. (2 DC, DC INC) x11. SlSt into top of chain 3. (48 DC) *Change to Yellow* R5: Ch 3. DC in first 3 stitches. DC INC in 4th stitch. (3 DC, DC INC) x11. SlSt into top of chain 3. (60 DC) R6: SC in first 3 spaces. Ch 5. SC in same stitch and next 5 stitches for a total of 6 Sc. Repeat this pattern of Ch 5, SC in same stitch, SC in next 5 stitches all the way around until last chain 5. SC in same stitch. 2 SC. SlSt into first SC. (12 Ch 5 spaces. 72 SC.) R7: (5 DC, Ch4 picot, 5 DC) all in first Ch 5 space from previous round. SlSt in 3rd SC from previous round. Repeat all the way around. SlSt in final SC from previous round. FO. Weave ends. (12 clusters, 12 SlSts) this may be a little inaccurate in the yellow rounds as i had the same trouble as most of yall in the comments so adjust as needed but hopefully this helps
Very cute pattern. I did however encounter some difficulties which I think might be errors in the given numbers of stitches. What I noticed and changed: For the core (blue part): In every row, the chain basically serves as a double crochet. So you should only do ch3 + 11 DC in the first row, 23 DC in the second, and so on. Otherwise, you would accumulate too many stitches in each row and the petals will not match. For the petals: you are saying 5 DC, ch 4, 5 DC. However, the chain basically puts the 5th DC of the first set in a middle position, meaning you should only do 4 DC after it to make each petal symmetrical. I hope this ends up helping someone. Sorry if I just misunderstood your instructions.
@@hobbyistcrochet No, your numbers are not correct. You slip stitch into the top of the chain 3 each time, and you count it as a stitch when you start the row. You would need to slip stitch into the FIRST DOUBLE CROCHET (not chain 3) in order for your numbers to work. I knew what you meant, though. Also, please don't take this the wrong way, but I have never seen the way you crochet before! You go between the stitches instead of into the stitch. It makes for a very interesting pattern. Your rounds aren't as prominent. I chose your tutorial because it looked different. Very nice.
As beautiful as it is, if it's supposed to act as a tutorial - I can't understand anything from the video :( I don't understand what to do and the hand gestures aren't really telling me what to do. I became a little frustrated.
For those who really don't know about crocheting like me, here's what I did, it's not perfect but it got the job done. For row one, after she made the magic circle she chained 3 then made 12 double stitches. She pulled the middle string tight to close up the circle. After the first row I stopped counting and just kept going until I got back to the start. You start row two with a 3 chain then do a double stitch in the space in-between the first double stitch from the last row. However, in the next space you crochet 2 double stitches and continue until you reach the end. For rows 3&4 you chain 3 then double stitch in the space below like before, then do 2 double stitches in the next space. For these rows you alternate between 1 double stitch and two double stitches in each hole. I did not get this since there are no words in the video and kept getting a basket shape. If you follow the directions I just gave you should be good to go.
Really beautiful pattern, but really difficult to understand for a begginer. It took me more time to understand what you were doing than to crochet it.
Beautiful!! I did mine and it looked wonderful... Thanks for the tutorial... Also by the comments below I understand that you aren't well versed in English... But please speak in your native language and we can switch on the subtitles in TH-cam and it will translate to English... All the very best and God Bless 🙏🙏🙏
Sunflowers are my favorite. I have a friend who calls me her little sunflower 🌻 and I call her my Sunshine 🌞 She needs coasters and these are perfect! 🥰😍👍 Thank you and God bless you and yours 🙏😇🙏
Hi, Thank you for this beautiful crochet coaster tutorial. Please let me know what yarn size do u use? im using acryllic yarn and the gauge is so tight, the pattern is barely visible for me. Please guide. Thank you!
It’s pretty self explanatory. 12 dc in MR and second row 12 DC increases…not sure why the “Vanna White” hand motions but she’s telling you how to do it! Just slow it down or pause often
Mi spiace dirlo.ma non mi piace il video come è girato senza spiegazione non si vedono bene nemmeno i numeri dei punti.mi spiace tanto, perché sono bellissimi i girasoli realizzati.
It's like I can't barely understand the pattern. Like, where did she made a slip stitch to end the round? Is it on chains or at the 1st dc stitch? It's not clear to me

In the last round after you finish a petal, is there one single crochet before you go into the next loop to start the next petal? Or it a slip stitch?
