Bought a Z5 4 months ago. Ditched iPhone 15 Pmax. Absolutely addicted to the fold form factor. Just upgraded to Fold 6. To me definitely worth it. Everyone that complains about the iterative upgrades miss a bit of the point. NO other foldable is waterproof or dust resistant or stylus support, this is a function of improving the hardware. Sure Samsung could put out a radical new phone but the cost would be $4k. For me they are in the sweet spot with the Fold 6. Love the screen width (works with one hand) and stylus support. To me the Fold 6 is the pinnacle of mature foldable phone tech. Granted, I purchase cash and do not have a problem with the price. Other opinions will vary😊.
Usually when everyone says one thing and you say another, it usually means you should reconsider your perspective. People are complaining because Samsung has done next to nothing with each upgrade and has the gall to charge even more money. There's a reason why their sales have declined and their higher ups issued a public apology to shareholders.
I think you are giving an honest assessment. I would not move from a Z Fold 5 or an S24 Ultra if I currentlyhad one of those devices. In my particular case, I moved from a Note 20 Ultra. So far I am really enjoying the Z Fold 6. If not for the presence of other folding devices with better specs on paper in some areas, it would be hard to dispute how good a device it is. As I am not a professional photographer, I am not so hung up on the camera specs not being the most elite because it actually takes really good pics. I like what I like even though some others are going to nitpick every pixel in the pics and in the spec sheet. Without putting it side by side with all the other big players, the vast majority of people would be happy as the pics mostly are comparable to the top dogs based on the comparisons that have been posted. In real life and not spec chasing it is fantastic so far for my particular needs. I would say people should do their research, to include going down to their local Best Buy and playing around with it. I don't think it is for everyone. I do think it is a nice phone for people moving from devices that are 2 or more generations old as you basically stated.
I have both s23 ultra and s24 ultra can't see any difference I also have the honor magic 5 pro and 6 pro decently big difference especially in battery life
Z Fold 5 to the Z fold 6, is like getting the car,that I just bought last year, some new tires and wheels, seat covers and maybe like changing out the speakers. That's my example and yes if you're coming up, from something that's 2/3 years old then you're good to go🤔
I have the Fold 5. The only thing appealing to me about the 6 is the squared design vs the rounded off corners. Other than that, there is no reason for me to upgrade. I still owe on my 5 so I won't be upgrading anyway.
I never had a Fold 5 but you've known me for quite some time now on here- I'm a complete smartphone nerd I love them. But my vision absolutely sucks. And this phone is blowing me away right now because I now can just really enjoy it all. I can use it without my glasses - I love how light it is- how big it is- I'm just blown away right now. But yes- my last Fold was the 3. Lol I absolutely love this thing! Smartphone happy place!! 😆

@TechOdyssey worth and value is personal. If I had the money, I would buy a new phone every year! I am upgrading from the Fold 3 to the Fold 6 because they hit all the right features for me to justify the price. The Fold 4 and 5 were to similar. But as I said this is all personal.

I'm looking to upgrade my Note10 plus this year. It works well but the battery drain is real. I will keep my Note10 plus as a back-up phone. Would this be a good choice to upgrade to? I'm waiting until the Iphone 16 to come out before I finally make a decision. Looking into the S24 Ultra, Fold 6 or Iphone 16 if it wows me enough. Thanks for any advice.
The physical dimensions might not have changed by much but for some reason it has made a very big difference when using and viewing software specifically on the outer screen. It was extremely frustrating to text and use apps on the ZFold5 outer screen. I'm not having the same issues on my ZFold6. Texting and entering text in apps is so much easier. I still would like to have S Pen functionality on the outer screen but I don't have the same complaints about it that I had with the ZFold5. The upgrade was worth it to me.
I don't mind them recycled my 4year old phone and refreshed it with a new chip a new battery and a new screen and a new OS which added new full-care warranty and security update for $200 more, till the next time I update do the same thing in a couple of financial years. Did anyone remember what oneplus and pixel were selling 4 years ago? How many of them are still officially updating software and what are the resale value of those?

I really enjoy your videos Adam. I bought the 6 and planned to use the 5 as my trade in. After using the 6 for a few days, I have decided to return it. I don't love the way it feels in the hand with the squared corners. I also like the colors better on the 5. I was comparing the two outside and it seemed the 5 was easier for me to see. This is just my opinion. I really was looking forward to the six but the long charging time, Same battery life and no change in cameras, had me feeling a bit underwhelmed. Again, just my opinion. I definitely feel it is hard to go back to a regular style phone, once getting used to a Foldable. You are always on point and do a great job of giving your thoughts on the phones. I am someone that always wants the latest and greatest and definitely fall into that "FOMO" trap of not wanting to miss out. This is probably one of the first times that I actually stuck with my year old phone and did not keep the new one lol

@@TechOdyssey Yes exactly. I'm leaning towards trading in the z fold 5 for the pixel 9 pro fold. But of course I'll be bummed out if it only has 30 watt charging. Having a main phone with slow charging sometimes could be a bit frustrating unless you have amazing battery life. I will say that I did also pick up the razor 24 plus and I was very impressed. I'm not sure if it's because it's something new to me as I've never had a flip phone like that but definitely like that newness feeling. Not sure if newness is even a word lol
I got my fold 6 for $509 (with fold 5 trade in) but I just cant justify in my head paying even that much for literally almost the same phone! I am going to return my Fold 6 and wait next year to see if Samsung decides to give actual updates. What is odd is that my Fold 5 started acting funny right before the announcement of Fold 6 (after the most recent updates). Battery dying so much faster, it seems much slower etc. Not sure if it is coincidence or intentional!
Keep staying honest and telling it like it is! There is nothing about the phone that makes it worth the almost $1,900 price tag when the almost 1 year old OnePlus Open is still for the most part better talk less of the almost identical Z Fold 5. Waiting to see if the Pixel 9 Fold has anything worthwhile to offer. Btw who keeps a phone for 7 years for the warranty to be worthwhile?

Paid 539.99 for mine after i traded in my fold 5 lol got crafted black @kevinerosa i only paid 900 for fold 3 and never paid near that again for fold 4,5,and now the 6
As someone who held back from purchasing the fold since the first one and probably should still, I finally gave in. Waiting for it to be delivered. Hopefully it can be more productive than my s23U which I will not give up. Don’t give 💩 about having best cameras. Really wanted S-pen built in and support for front display and with it being bigger decent size to candy bar shaped ones now. The squared off edges kind of sold me plus exhausted from waiting so long.
Youre the only channel i watch for Pixel and google news. I know thos is a fold 5-6 video but have a question. I got the 6 but now im digging that Pixel 9 pro fold. I suffer from pwm screen flickering and the pixel 8 pro killed my eyes. Have you heard anything about eill they be using pwm or dc dimming on the pixel fold 2?

I don't know what people are talking about with the crease. I have the z-fold 5 and before that the z-fold 4 and I'll never go back to a slab phone. You do not notice the crease at all if you're looking directly at it watching movies or anything you really don't!! The only time you notice the crease is when you're outside and you have reflections so if you have a regular slab phone and you have reflections they're going to be a distraction no different than when you have reflections outside and you see the crease. In other words no matter what phone you have when you go outside you're going to see tons of reflections on your phone that's going to be a distraction to look at it no matter what so it doesn't make a difference..
As someone on a pixel 6 pro and a trucker the foldable phone seems perfect for me and better fit in my pocket, which has the better camera in your opinion??
I buy a phone and use it until it no longer does what I require, I used my note 20 until the charger port wore out,then I bought the Z fold 5 got unlimited screen replacement, and I'll use it until I need to replace it. I've had my fold 5 for a year and still love the hell out of it.
I thought I was the only one who felt that way. I returned my z fold 6 and kept my 4 because it wasn't as comfortable to hold. I'm going to wait and see how the pixel fold 2 is in a couple of weeks
Like you said, You only live once!! This is my first foldable phone. Great trade in deals so, I jumped on in! I got mine on the 19th and I am still finding out things that it can do. It has taken getting used to but all in all, I am pleased!!
I got the Fold 6 by trade in the Fold 4. I never had any problems other than replacing the inner screen protector at no charge from Samsung. I was just a lil worried about the logibited of the Fold 4 since it was 2 yrs old. I do like the 6 but my only gripe is no s-pen support on the front screen or having a internal slot for the s-pen like the S24 Ultra. I wouldn't care if the pen needs to be smaller
This year the trade in discount and offers in the UK are rubbish. I'd have to pay £1000 to upgrade. Not happening for such a small change. I still have £600 to pay off on my Fold 5.
im supposed to trade in my z fold 5 for this 6 that just came in. so far i like what i have here but the first thing that sticks out to me is the scrolling performance on cover screen is less smooth than z fold 5. with the z fold 6 go to settings and youll see how bad the scrolling is compared to the z fold 5 which was perfect. ive been to the best buy stores and att. and the z fold 6 there were just as bad so its not just mine. You'll miss this if you dont have a z fold 5 right next to it. so far no one has commented on this and its driving me insane. my z fold 5 shouldnt be feeling smoother than my 6 that just came in. this really triggers my ocd. i hope i dont have to return the z fold 6 over this. anyway good video

All your points were valid. I think they need to be better roll out as well. Some people got better deals than others. The air buds three are recalled sent mines back they had a weird static noise as well. The ring I ordered on the 10th still have not gotten but the send me a email to review my experience 😂😂. The only saving grace was I came from a fold 4
I traded my S23Ultra for the Zfold 6 in pink 🩷 and traded my Zflip5 for the Zflip6 in Mint 💚 and OMG I can’t believe how long it took me to jump on the Fold train 🚂 cause CHOOCHOOO this thing is BAD ASS!!! Definitely feel like the trade of my S23U was so worth it. I’m having so much fun with the Fold 6. Only thing is I’m so paranoid about closing it , so I’m extra gentle and I baby it so much lol 😂 does that paranoia go away? 😂 I got the same Samsung case you have on yours and I threw a fit when my husband grabbed it and just opened it up and smacked it shut. I was gonna kill him!!! I don’t wanna have any screen problems since that’s the only thing I see ppl complain about the most about these phones 😢

I tried both in the pop-up store here in Dubai, but to be honest, both felt very heavy and rigid. Didn't get the nostalgic feeling of older flip phones like the motorola and all, will skip and wait to see what Google will bring us this year.
Im done with expensive phones s24 Ultra was my last phone used to upgrade every two years but thibk ill keep hold of it for longer fed up of the minimal changes, all bills in the UK are also over the top so your not alone
I'm holding on to my z fold 5 until I see what the z fold 7 offers. I'm hoping it's a little wider on the cover screen and gets s25 ultra cameras at least.
I find the 6 way better. I tryed the 5 and hated the phone and sent it back. The little larger and square design made the phone useable. All the little updates they did made 1 big improvement. Is there more that should of been done yes. But IMO its not the same phone. Best part is the samsung incentives makes its ok to change. Outside the preorder incentive at full price no its not worth it. I cant even imagine what the fold ultra will cost.
Most people should not get these devices. I tried a 3 last year because i didnt want to commit to the 5, but i feel like the 6 is both good enough and refined enough to be used a both a tablet and a phone. For a tech enthusiast like me, i know why i wanted this, but would never pay full price for one, but the 6 is the best one yet by far. I really am happy with it but also because i got several discounts through my carrier and trading in my 3. And the 6 fixes every issue i had with the 3
Was going to buy the fold 6 moving away from iphone then i seen how much these samsungs// android device's devalue. So brought the Fold 5 instead, saving me a ridiculous £1200+ it only cost me £500, how can a phone loose this much value in under a year? Maybe i got mine slightly cheaper but it wasnt by much. Give it a few month's and il probably get a used fold 6 for about 800-900 but even that will still be too much more to pay considering the difference between the two. Some people have got so much money to waste buying these devices new for extortionate amounts.
As for the s Pen if you look at the history of these s pens the bigger the tablet or the phone the bigger the s pen so I kind of like that the s Pen is bigger than the typical s Pen that's in the Samsung 24 ultra. Bigger screen means bigger s Pen.. I'm fine with the bigger s Pen

I have had every samsung note minus the one that they recalled then came the fold and I brought the fold 3 was great until somehow the hot enviornment where I live melted the adhesive on the back glass took it for a swim splash poof it was done lost a ton of data...tired of trusting a cloud back up and forgot to save on my home computer. Now fold 4 battery barely lasts a day and doesnt fold flat. I wish they would give back the sd card , actual fast charge like the note series, spen slot, and better bright colors tired of the same cold corporate colors. Samsung definately can afford to replace these phones when the hinge goes out or that screen separation/bleeding thing when in warranty.

There's one quite well known tech You Tube, initials N.A that I stopped watching, because he started calling all his reviews, the (phone name), my honest review. I told him that naming all your videos 'my honest', implies that some aren't, but he wouldn't have it.
Everything is relative. 13g is enormous when you are talking about this phone. It is almost a 6% reduction in total weight. Yes, I am a fan of Samsung, not because of the brand but because of the quality of phones and technology they produce!

Having a main phone with slow charging sometimes could be a bit frustrating unless you have amazing battery life. I will say that I did also pick up the razor 24 plus and I was very impressed. I'm not sure if it's because it's something new to me as I've never had a flip phone like that but definitely like that newness feeling. Not sure if newness is even a word lol
I got my fold 6 for $509 (with fold 5 trade in) but I just cant justify in my head paying even that much for literally almost the same phone! I am going to return my Fold 6 and wait next year to see if Samsung decides to give actual updates. What is odd is that my Fold 5 started acting funny right before the announcement of Fold 6 (after the most recent updates). Battery dying so much faster, it seems much slower etc. Not sure if it is coincidence or intentional!

Keep staying honest and telling it like it is! There is nothing about the phone that makes it worth the almost $1,900 price tag when the almost 1 year old OnePlus Open is still for the most part better talk less of the almost identical Z Fold 5. Waiting to see if the Pixel 9 Fold has anything worthwhile to offer. Btw who keeps a phone for 7 years for the warranty to be worthwhile?

Also, I don’t know anyone who will keep these phones for 7 years. But it does add more life for resale and second owners who may buy one cheaper refurbished or used later and still have a supporter, likely still good device.
Who's paying full price for a phone nowadays? Paid 699 for ZF6 512gb with the trade-in and pre-order on Samsung. For 699, this phone is a beast.

As someone who held back from purchasing the fold since the first one and probably should still, I finally gave in. Waiting for it to be delivered. Hopefully it can be more productive than my s23U which I will not give up. Don’t give 💩 about having best cameras. Really wanted S-pen built in and support for front display and with it being bigger decent size to candy bar shaped ones now. The squared off edges kind of sold me plus exhausted from waiting so long.

Youre the only channel i watch for Pixel and google news. I know thos is a fold 5-6 video but have a question. I got the 6 but now im digging that Pixel 9 pro fold. I suffer from pwm screen flickering and the pixel 8 pro killed my eyes. Have you heard anything about eill they be using pwm or dc dimming on the pixel fold 2?

I don't know what people are talking about with the crease. I have the z-fold 5 and before that the z-fold 4 and I'll never go back to a slab phone.
You do not notice the crease at all if you're looking directly at it watching movies or anything you really don't!!
The only time you notice the crease is when you're outside and you have reflections so if you have a regular slab phone and you have reflections they're going to be a distraction no different than when you have reflections outside and you see the crease.
In other words no matter what phone you have when you go outside you're going to see tons of reflections on your phone that's going to be a distraction to look at it no matter what so it doesn't make a difference..
As someone on a pixel 6 pro and a trucker the foldable phone seems perfect for me and better fit in my pocket, which has the better camera in your opinion??

I buy a phone and use it until it no longer does what I require, I used my note 20 until the charger port wore out,then I bought the Z fold 5 got unlimited screen replacement, and I'll use it until I need to replace it. I've had my fold 5 for a year and still love the hell out of it.
Completely agree with you, I also expected 16 GB RAM for Galaxy AI.. in a year or 2, they will say 12 GB is not enough for new features

I really hate the sharp corners on the z fold 6. The 5 is so much more comfortable to hold. Im sort wishing i still had my zfold 5.
I thought I was the only one who felt that way. I returned my z fold 6 and kept my 4 because it wasn't as comfortable to hold. I'm going to wait and see how the pixel fold 2 is in a couple of weeks

Like you said, You only live once!! This is my first foldable phone. Great trade in deals so, I jumped on in! I got mine on the 19th and I am still finding out things that it can do. It has taken getting used to but all in all, I am pleased!!
I got the Fold 6 by trade in the Fold 4. I never had any problems other than replacing the inner screen protector at no charge from Samsung. I was just a lil worried about the logibited of the Fold 4 since it was 2 yrs old. I do like the 6 but my only gripe is no s-pen support on the front screen or having a internal slot for the s-pen like the S24 Ultra. I wouldn't care if the pen needs to be smaller
This year the trade in discount and offers in the UK are rubbish. I'd have to pay £1000 to upgrade. Not happening for such a small change. I still have £600 to pay off on my Fold 5.

im supposed to trade in my z fold 5 for this 6 that just came in. so far i like what i have here but the first thing that sticks out to me is the scrolling performance on cover screen is less smooth than z fold 5. with the z fold 6 go to settings and youll see how bad the scrolling is compared to the z fold 5 which was perfect. ive been to the best buy stores and att. and the z fold 6 there were just as bad so its not just mine. You'll miss this if you dont have a z fold 5 right next to it. so far no one has commented on this and its driving me insane. my z fold 5 shouldnt be feeling smoother than my 6 that just came in. this really triggers my ocd. i hope i dont have to return the z fold 6 over this. anyway good video

Technically yes. I don’t find it to be a big difference though. S24 ultra has better intermediate zoom and portraits.

All your points were valid. I think they need to be better roll out as well. Some people got better deals than others. The air buds three are recalled sent mines back they had a weird static noise as well. The ring I ordered on the 10th still have not gotten but the send me a email to review my experience 😂😂. The only saving grace was I came from a fold 4

I traded my S23Ultra for the Zfold 6 in pink 🩷 and traded my Zflip5 for the Zflip6 in Mint 💚 and OMG I can’t believe how long it took me to jump on the Fold train 🚂 cause CHOOCHOOO this thing is BAD ASS!!! Definitely feel like the trade of my S23U was so worth it. I’m having so much fun with the Fold 6. Only thing is I’m so paranoid about closing it , so I’m extra gentle and I baby it so much lol 😂 does that paranoia go away? 😂 I got the same Samsung case you have on yours and I threw a fit when my husband grabbed it and just opened it up and smacked it shut. I was gonna kill him!!! I don’t wanna have any screen problems since that’s the only thing I see ppl complain about the most about these phones 😢

I just got the Z fold 5 as I got it on a really good deal from my Network. I would have got the Zed fold 6 but it was way more expensive!!
I tried both in the pop-up store here in Dubai, but to be honest, both felt very heavy and rigid.
Didn't get the nostalgic feeling of older flip phones like the motorola and all, will skip and wait to see what Google will bring us this year.
Im done with expensive phones s24 Ultra was my last phone used to upgrade every two years but thibk ill keep hold of it for longer fed up of the minimal changes, all bills in the UK are also over the top so your not alone
The symmetrical screen in itself is a huge plus the 2600nits screen, Ltpo display on both screen

It’s a hard time to buy, I’ve never had a folding phone and it seems like every 10 minutes the newest best foldable comes out.
I'm holding on to my z fold 5 until I see what the z fold 7 offers.
I'm hoping it's a little wider on the cover screen and gets s25 ultra cameras at least.
I find the 6 way better. I tryed the 5 and hated the phone and sent it back. The little larger and square design made the phone useable. All the little updates they did made 1 big improvement. Is there more that should of been done yes. But IMO its not the same phone. Best part is the samsung incentives makes its ok to change. Outside the preorder incentive at full price no its not worth it. I cant even imagine what the fold ultra will cost.
Most people should not get these devices. I tried a 3 last year because i didnt want to commit to the 5, but i feel like the 6 is both good enough and refined enough to be used a both a tablet and a phone. For a tech enthusiast like me, i know why i wanted this, but would never pay full price for one, but the 6 is the best one yet by far. I really am happy with it but also because i got several discounts through my carrier and trading in my 3. And the 6 fixes every issue i had with the 3

Was going to buy the fold 6 moving away from iphone then i seen how much these samsungs// android device's devalue. So brought the Fold 5 instead, saving me a ridiculous £1200+ it only cost me £500, how can a phone loose this much value in under a year? Maybe i got mine slightly cheaper but it wasnt by much. Give it a few month's and il probably get a used fold 6 for about 800-900 but even that will still be too much more to pay considering the difference between the two. Some people have got so much money to waste buying these devices new for extortionate amounts.

As for the s Pen if you look at the history of these s pens the bigger the tablet or the phone the bigger the s pen so I kind of like that the s Pen is bigger than the typical s Pen that's in the Samsung 24 ultra. Bigger screen means bigger s Pen..

I had z fold 5 and reverted back to note 20 ultra, not for everyone. I didnt like the folded screen. Very narrow and not very practical.
I have had every samsung note minus the one that they recalled then came the fold and I brought the fold 3 was great until somehow the hot enviornment where I live melted the adhesive on the back glass took it for a swim splash poof it was done lost a ton of data...tired of trusting a cloud back up and forgot to save on my home computer. Now fold 4 battery barely lasts a day and doesnt fold flat. I wish they would give back the sd card , actual fast charge like the note series, spen slot, and better bright colors tired of the same cold corporate colors. Samsung definately can afford to replace these phones when the hinge goes out or that screen separation/bleeding thing when in warranty.

I've watched other reviews on the Fold 6 vs Fold 5 and a lot of them are saying the Fold 6 is "a lot better". Sorry, they're just drinking the Samsung Kool-aid but you're not!
