Once again, Antony Starr is absolutely magnificent as Homelander. I genuinely have never loved to hate a character as much as him. He’s so good in this episode, he deserves all the awards alone for his monologue with his son halfway through. What a complex character.
Hell no he's not bluffing about Homelander. Black Noir is the contingency plan for Homelander. I know there's a twist that makes him NOT the clone but I think they'll pull another twist. Calling it now: I think Maeve actually killed Black Noir and they replaced him with the REAL Black Noir for the huge plot twist down the road (trying not to give away spoilers.) As we can see they lie about heroes dying too. Translucent died and they lied and told the media he was on a "top secret mission" for as long as they could. Stormfront died and they said "she's been captured and we're awaiting what we'll do" or something like that. I think Black Noir is going to get replaced with the Homelander failsafe that's mentioned in the comics.....
In the comics the men stomp Stormfront(male version) to death. Kimiko laughing and saying she's going to put her boot up her kitty might also be a reference to the comic where Stormfront gets his nuts stomped on repeatedly.
I had to laugh Ik its different studios/rating But compare that... to the marvel movie "girl power" moments. Like fuck , marvel really gave the lady heroes the shit end of the stick.
@@richardmetellus2336 i was thinking the same thing. This felt so much better than just panning over 7 girls for a takky scene and not even do anything with it.
Between that female Agent, who iam just gotta called The Head Popper, and Homelander terrifying, unstable mindset, this show is better and more terrifying than all those cheap jump scares from horror movies
back in the day scanners is famous for the head popping scene and was on the "video nasty" list of banned films in the uk. 40 years later episode 7 . pop pop pop love it and one episode of walking dead has more gore on a sunday evening than all the video nasties combined. how things have changed :-)
They can have children, however their children are just normal humans. Translucent had a son. Stormfront had a daughter. Homelander thought he couldn't have kids. That's just him personally. Not the other supes. They make a huge deal about Ryan because he is the first born supe (the other children are born without powers).
@@RettG no. That's Homelander's son. Homelander raped Becca and she ended up pregnant. She knew the baby had powers that's why she went to Vought for help. Ryan is the first child from a supe to be born with powers. That's why he is so special to Vought.
stormfront said her daughter looked like her what is its neuman they dont age like normal people as she would be voughts daughter so would of had compound v. so neuman would be the prodigal daughter to take over the company but also the us
@Twinblades it seems like we're going to end up with 3 factions at this rate, voughtnazi's, the boys and homelander doing his own thing, probably gonna be what gets him killed id guess
MaxthexPfarmer like Edgar said, the only reason why he kept stormfront around was because she knew how to grow fear in people, but Edgar hated her. The moment her true side was exposed, they threw her under the bus without a second notice.
I thought this season was wildly mediocre. Nothing happened. No showdown with Homelander. The big finale was Maeve beating him with a cell phone video zzzzzzz
They're also very subversive in that they're during a cut to a different scene, when the atmosphere usually changes. Instead all along we never knew that the focus after the cut was meant to carry over the last scenes atmosphere. S tier writing.
Amazon, probably gives popular channels like this the show ahead of time, with them signing a NDA Amazon wants people talking about the show, because that is the best way to get more viewers.
I kind felt bad for Homelander, the first time I perceived his humanity. If Stormfront wasn't in the picture, Ryan could have been Homelander's redemption chance.
Yeah you could tell he actually wanted to be the father he never had, he made a mistake trusting Stormfront and started realising that in the finale. It goes back to his narcissism, he really sees himself in Ryan, and wants to keep him from suffering like he did, in his own way. Homelander is so well written and acted in this show
I've had sympathy for Homelander ever since seeing how he was raised in a lab alone..that blanket scene got me..ik hes evil but any kid growing up like that would have issues
We know she can blow up people with powers because she killed shockwave but maybe not homelander. I wonder if she popped Kimiko's head, would it grow back? I'm curious to the extent of her power.
@@Salty010 Exactly thats why it was an increadible twist, hope The boys can sniff her out cause she has the tricky ability, hard to track knowing she requires little effort to activate it.
yooooo I didn’t even realize the way she was popping heads she was looking directly at them in the courthouse.. that explains why she turned around and sat back down
That doe-face guy/girl was supposed to be the face-popper ... Then - my hero, Victoria, seems to sell out to the Church ... ... but POP! :) I'm imagining how series 3 will be about a "good" superhero (Victoria - the AOC of the show, quite clearly) popping peoples' heads if she thinks they are holding back political progress! Tying in with Starlight's "I would have cried before, but now I feel nothing" after that innocent guy got killed after reaching for his gun. It will be about how good people with superpowers end up being a menace to those they heartfeltedly (?) swore to protect.
@Heschewingonit If she isn't fighting for the people - then she's certainly making herself into unnecessary target practice for right-wing cowboy fucks. Her superhero story is one of the greatest America has ever seen - I hope it ends with 2 terms of the Presidency like it deserves.
E1V1A this show is deviating very far from the comics. Season 3 maybe can turn that around, but the direction they are going is much better than the comics
I questioned the hell out of that court scene "Why aren't the important ppl being killed?!" I chalked it up to bad writing, but when you get slapped with reality like this, then it makes you question if you're actually paying attention lol.
It seems she has to be looking at the person in order to make their head explode. It's a great detail really how every person who had their head blow up in the Court scene Neuman was looking at. During the protesting scene where homelander dropped Neuman was also constantly looking at Homelander just in case he tried something so that she could try and blow up his head.
Just my speculation, but I believe Victoria has at two abilities. One she can pop someone's head if she has direct line of sight, and two she has a sort of x-ray vision ability (when her eyes turned white while taking out Alastair). She needed to see past the glass & drapes to pop the church leader's head. I think her head pop ability also grows weaker the further the target is away. This is shown when Raynor lost her head. She had a nose bleed first, and then finally her head popped. Victoria is basically a super sniper, but instead of head shots she goes for head pops.
Just my stupid theory - What if Hughie joined her to get info for Butcher? 🤔 he just randomly decided to join her like that’s little random and looking back at episode 7 Butcher reaction to head pop was like he knew something was up plus he didn’t trust her, did he?
@@nemo99nemo83 I think Stormfront made that hole in her neck just as Ryan fired the lasers off, because his mother was bleeding without burn marks that we see in Homelander's kills
MeltedCow I really hope this is true because it’s going to be really rough for him thinking he killed his mom (even though he was under extreme duress and barely knows how to use his powers and his mom would’ve died anyway).
I think Hughie is playing her. "He doesn't fit in?" Puh-lease, he's in the Boys like a glove. He's been the most committed out of everyone in this season. He might not be a fighter, but every team needs an inside man. Butcher is smart and very much on-to the gov. because as the video said the only way Raynor would die is if someone was high up in the government would be privy to her assignment and knew what she was doing. An inside job. And then there was his talk with Edgar...a man willing to do whatever it takes to bring Vought to the top. And now suddenly Neuman is the head of a new government department to oversee the supes? Sounds too good to be true. He ain't stupid enough to not see the signs. Who watches the watchmen? Easy....it's the boys. 11/10 season finale. cannot wait for season 3.
He does have the monologue about “hanging on” in this episode. Seems weird for him to abandon the boys after focusing on how loyal he is this episode/season
Yep, absolutely agree. The Boys know that it could be Vought behind the assassinations, and they will absolutely be playing that angle - it may even be a twist towards the end of Season 3, where it's revealed that they were onto Neuman from the very start and had been playing her all along. That would be immensely satisfying.
I think Adana the Church leader knew she was a Supe. He says "You're one of the good ones" right before hanging up the phone that at first we're supposed to believe he's talking about politicians but he's actually talking about her being a Supe. He also mentions that he has dirt on a lot of Supes out there, he could also have something on her or she took him out just in case. The Church managed to have dirt on Storm Front from 100 years ago, knowing what she's hiding isn't too much of a stretch.
yeah and i thought Alistair was very interesting. Grandson of the Vought founder? wish the church played a bigger role in this season, not just sub plot for The Deep and A Train
I don't know if he thought she was a Supe tho. He was referring to politicians in general. If she was a Supe, he'd realistically assume she's working with Vought because all the supes he works with are with Vought.
I disagree. I don’t think he had a clue. And I think she works alongside Edgar or is her prop to gain political control for Vought. She pops everyone’s head that knows about Compound V, kills a few people to cover her tracts, and kills the speedster so at the time The Deep could get his spot back in the 7, now A Train. She did this because she was pretending to be allies with the guy who’s head she popped in the last episode, but really she was just keeping the Church in check. She also purposely leaves those files in the building so Stormfront could get caught and The Boys would deal with her. Since she was also keeping Stormfront in check after she realized Stormfront knew Edgar was behind it. Just my theory
"Controlled opposition" is a very real and old strategy to advance an agenda. Only thing i don't get is why her eye's went all mutant in the finale but not in the courtroom.
@@QODHardasiandickBAC they showed that in the 7th Episode of season two. Frenchie mentioned its her daughter while he and kimiko watch her and compared it to his mother cooking with him in the past.
@6:24 You can see that each person has a painting behind them on the wall. Victoria Neuman's painting is the only of the 3 sittings which is done to subtly hint at a difference in the 3 "humans" in the room.
@@ethanwilkins5001 No I mean to say that tho it was a good finale, it is not THAT good that it can be called one of the best. But again, that's just my opinion
We've seen Neumann cooking with her daughter. I think the relationship with Vought is symbiotic in nature. What you missed it that she needs an evil company to attack to rise to power, so she benefits from the relationship as much as Vought does
U r so wrong supes can have kids stormfront has daughter translucent has Sơn and many more have kids just not supes kids and Ryan is first natural supe Except for homelander tho who is not suppose to be able to have kids
Was anyone else on the edge of their seat at the scene in the end when starlight and hughie was talking on the bench and it’s all calm and peaceful, even though there was still another 10 minutes left in the episode? My heart was beating out of my chest that the show was gonna pull a GOT on us and pop one the main characters heads
"Why didn't her eyes go all gray in the courtroom?" I see a lot in the comments, my theory? Her line of sight was MUCH closer in the courtroom thus, she didn't need them to go white/gray or whatever, however the church chap was a bit more distance and behind a window, so like a sniper's scope she had to turn on the gray/white to focus in on his head to pop it.
@Jack Frost They didn't need to do the white-eyes thing to establish the connection, even dumb viewers can put two and two together by simply having her standing there looking stoic right after Alastair's head popped. The scene already makes it obvious, but if they really wanted to make sure people didn't think it was a coincidence that she was there, they could have had her (with normal eyes) smirk and walk slyly away.
@Jack Frost you're mixing up traslucent with the rest of the supes. The supes in this series have highly varying levels of durability. Not all of them have invulnerable skin. For example, Homelander, Stormfront, Starlight, and Maeve are all shown to be bulletproof. Black Noir is not. Huey shot right through his hand. Translucents power was having a carbon like meta material for skin, so he had extra hardened skin well beyond the regular supe.
In season 1 homelander was shocked that he has a child because vogelbaum told him that supes can't have kids... Pardon me if I'm wrong, been a while since i watched the first season
@@Moka_Latte i think bcuz for some reason he thought he couldnt have kids specifically. Bcuz ya Neuman, stormfront and translucent all have kids just not supes
Stormfront got the Anakin Skywalker treatment. I wonder since she doesn't age and we know she has healing powers from when Homelander burned her chest if she'll heal up for next season. She might get the comic Lamplighter arc also.
One notable difference about Sage Grove escapee Cindy: she doesn't need to see her targets. Her range and whether she can penetrate substantial barriers is unknown as yet but there's good reason to think she's much more powerful than Neuman. I doubt she's just going to be left to wander around forever. If she's related to Neuman there may be a strong personal grievance to be resolved. Cindy may be unaware Neuman is now a prominent politician, especially if Neuman adopted the surname of her daughter's father but all she needs is to see one TV appearance.
Kinda what I was thinking but what if she encounters the boys again with a TV in the room and then she says something along the lines of knowing her then she exposes Neuman for being a supe and becomes friends with the boys much like kimiko....would be cool to have her on The boys side but yeah lol
I was thinking the same. As factions, we have Vought, we have the boys and kinda the goverment, and the church. Why not a new one? It would be interesting.
I would love to see her as a counterpart of Vault. She is very mighty and could be (and i would bet will be) the antagonist of season 3. Maybe she will run for president? A President who can make peoples heads explode is very scary!
@@officialtjtrev8910 Claudia doumit is lebanese and italian. She played farah karim in cod, who is middle eastern. I don't think most people see her as "white", so the theory of her being Edgar's daughter is definitely plausible. 🤷🏽♂️

We need the show to get back to the main storyline: Black Noir's love of the piano and his quest to play a concerto alongside the Chicago symphony. Also, the perfect high tea ceremony.
@@hittingyouoverthehead the other girls powers is too blow up the peoples entire body but neumen's blowing their heads. But yea i rewatch the clip and she basically was looking at everyone whos head blew up.
@@hittingyouoverthehead Cindy seemed to have been a plot device to fool us and twist us with ep 7s cliffhanger I think it's very clear Neuman is the one with the power to pop people's heads.
Ashcool Cindy uses her hands to crush people’s bodies. Neumann uses her eyes to blow their heads up. The reason shit splatters when Cindy crushes them is cause their blood is being pushed out through the rest of their body.
@@hittingyouoverthehead Nah not at the hospital. Cindy just has a power that would cause similar bodily damage to that of a head exploding. Cindy looks like she can control the physics of objects, and aggressively can make a human body implode/explode Neuman is acting alone, it wouldn't make sense for her to puppet a rouge, unstable mental patient supe. But feel free to cling onto the theory, just doesn't seem likely
I knew it wasn't here because the head pops were one at a time and she was able to smash multiple metal doors at once, took me 2 watches to realise tho
My money was on Edgar being the head popper so that was a nice surprise! I still think he has powers though, he’s so fearless and confident in front of Homelander he never crumbles under pressure or shows signs of weakness or worry that he’ll get lasered in half, he’s one of the only people to stand his ground in front of Homelander.
In the comics, Homelander's handler is just as stone cold as Edgar. He didn't have powers but he knew Homelander was so eager to preform, so invested in the emotional response that it was relatively easy to manipulate Homelander. I like how Homelander is his own warden. Anything that would corrupt his image is to be avoided. The downside is that once his image is tarnished beyond repair, Homelander will go nuts. The cracks are already showing.
I think that would cheapen his character. The fact that he is a helpless human but can have that confidence because of his political maneuvering is much more interesting. It is asymmetry in power that makes the show interesting - otherwise the show would lack tension.
I find it strange how stressless Homelander was when everyone’s heads we’re popping. I think that Victoria has no power over him. He should have flown away instantly if he sensed danger.
Nah. He has always been the strongest person in the room. He has fought tons of powered people. I just dont think he can comprehend anyone can hurt him. In the comic, the only person that could hurt him was his clone because he shared the same powers.
I definitely think that her power is not enough to pop his head. Remember that supes have bodies that are hard o break. I think they will make exception for head popping as well.
Julian Gonzalez yes, and the way they put her body in the scene really reminded me of Anakin after he lost his legs, etc... maybe I’m seeing too much, but there was a resemblance
Hughie might have powers but has never lashed out. Think about it, his mom left them the same way that Annie's dad left her because he didn't want to be involved. So what if Hughie is unknowingly a supe
Very well possible, but I feel like if he was he would have figured it out by now. At the same time this might explain how his dad was so clingy to him, and keeping him so sheltered because he did not want him to figure out his true potential. I guess we gotta wait for season 3 🤷♂️
Supes have more durability than normal human. Hughie was getting impaled in the car this season and almost died. He either doesn’t have superpowers, or it has never been activated or something.
Cindy was such a great red herring that some people still think she is still connected. I didn’t because of the obvious observation of their powers, one implodes body, one explodes heads. The details in this show are so good.
The only one I felt sorry for was the boy (Homelander's son), without father, the mother died and the Butcher left him altogether, although he promised something else, in fact, he was not to blame for the death of his mother, otherwise Stormfront would have strangled her. Butcher could not give it to them, but take him to his upbringing, but he has a problem with promises.
i thought so too, so now he ll have the same childhood like Homelander had, with people who are afraid of him. it would be better for him to be with the father, probably.
Homelander would see his son as a threat - he himself couldn't outdamage Stormfront with laser fiesta, his son just blew her up like its nothing. Butcher is more of a "The only winning way is not to play" - he doesn't understand what "father" means, he only remembers how to become violent son-of-a-jerk. So it would be only a given time until the kid would have breakdown on Butcher just like Butcher broke down on his pa. Giving out his son to a woman that lost her kids - is better than failing the "protect at all costs" deathwish of his wife or creating a jerk by becoming a "jackass father" to not-really-his kid.
@@jabroniyumerale6204 Homelander wouldn't see him as a threat if he raises him. but having his son being raised by enemies definitely would frame Ryan as a threat. and Ryan is not given "to a woman". he is given to an organization working against supes. he won't have normal childhood, he will have a foster family. it is significant that Mellory has not been shown communicating with Ryan. she is not going to be his granny, that's for sure. as about Butcher: his father used physical violence against him, and nothing so far implied that Butcher is doing the same.
@@stupidpol Your point is fine too, I guess. That was my basic view on the relationship and how it was portrayed, not gonna say "its the only one right side and its mine".
but why blow shockwave's head tho? it's contradictory that Edgar wanted A-train out and then ordered Newman to kill shockwave knowing he's a-train's replacement, something doesn't add up.
maybe she didn’t want it to be so obvious that none of vought’s people were touched? she wanted it to look like a “terrorist” or something but im not sure
@@MrToBeEvil Vaught is controlling her, they must have her daughter. AzzaMATE Df you talking about. Anyways basically the plan for vought is that have her be a politician against supes to get her in then do some shit. That’s why she blew heads during the trial, supe terrorists would be the enemy. Thats why they blamed everything on stormfront when her shit got revealed, she’s a scapegoat. That’s why the church dude got blown up because the original plan was to fake supe terrorists and then say there’s more terrorists when the trial was going on because the head popping was planned all along.
@@MrToBeEvil That makes more sense. I wonder how they will handle Newman, since while the mystery of the head exploder was quite scary and interesting, Newman herself gave the vibe of a "throw away character" and still kind of gives one
Every action she took when it came to "popping heads" has always played in favor for Vought, so yeah I presume that she is deep with Vought and she probably has a close personal connection to Edgar Stan as his personal "Hitman". Although I haven't read the comics so I don't know the full details on how her story plays out so I guess we will find out next season!
@6:24 You can see that each person has a painting behind them on the wall. Victoria Neuman's painting is the only of the 3 paintings in which the character is sitting. Which is done to subtly hint at a difference in the 3 "humans" in the room.
In episode 7 the heads didn't stop exploding after Victoria Neuman left with Mallory. There were 3-4 explosions after she left. Maybe she doesn't need to be directly staring at her victims if she is not too far away?
I thought of this too, but my guess is she just yeeted it through the wall and got people by luck. I feel like their heads popped quicker too as if she was applying a lot of "force" through the wall. We know she can do it through objects as she gets it through the head of the churches window
@@PR3DAT0R98 I think her eyes changing color was just to be a very clear visual cue for the audience. Kinda like in Harry Potter, they don't always say the spell they're casting, only when it otherwise needs to be clear to the audience exactly what they're trying to make happen.
Or maybe it's just bad writing. Just like Stormfront's lightning power being nerfed when it came to attacking The Boys. Just like Maeve turning up out of the blue in the nick of time (she's done this three times this season). Frederick probably dosed Stormfront when she was younger, and then sexual predatored his way into marrying her.
2:35- "supes can't usually have children" Facts from season 2- translucent had a son, stormfront had a daughter, homelander and Ryan... it was never said supes can't have kids, homelander only believed HE couldn't have kids
Exactly. Idk why people are using this to claim they all can't have kids. It was just Homelander who thought he couldn't. Ryan is the first one ever to be born with powers. The other kids are just normal humans.
I am just so damn happy that Hughie and Annie are back together. They make such a cute couple and have a strong ass connection. I was waiting for Stormfront's eye to be ripped out just like in the comics and IT DID!!!!!!! I knew the mother would die. Eventually that kid will get killed or die later on in the series I'm loving Frenchie's character development. It was so wonderful seeing him say lets go dancing in sign language Butcher and Homelander face off with the kid was such a goosebumps moment I loved when all three girls beat the shit out of Stormfront The ending with Hughie asking for a job reminds me of Peter Parker with the Daily Bugle. I think they’re going to train Ryan to be the Homelander-killer that Noir was in the comic. Since Noir obviously can’t do that (he’s not a Homelander clone, and he’s also a potato right now 🤷🏽♂️). Ryan clearly had the potential to be stronger than Homelander, Homelander’s laser vision could only slightly burn Stormfront and Ryan have her the ole Anakin Skywalker treatment. That’s just my take, though.
@@andrewdavis3924 Good take bro! I was thinking the same about Ryan taking that role but didnt even think about the actual strength of his lasers in that scene
Only objection is that Victoria's daughter is shown in episode 7 when Frenchie and Kimiko are watching her and she and her daughter were baking together around the 27 minute mark so it's not likely she'd be kidnapped. Plus she's a politician so I'm sure a detail like her kid being missing would be noticed unless you're saying Vought is in some way using the child as leverage. Everything else I can agree to. The twist was so good that I didn't see it until moments before the "pop" happened. What I'd really like to know is how did Maeve get to the cabin so fast since she can't fly? And I guess next season we'll be finding out more about MM's family or Lenny or Cindy or if Stormfront is really dead or has regenerative powers and will be back with an eye patch. I'm still convinced that Edgar has some power level just not sure to what degree. Great Show.
my god that was an amaaaaaazing finale!!! I correctly predicted that the clip of homelander landing covered in blood would be looking at a dying stormfront in a comment i left on the last video, but wow, i never saw the Victoria thing coming!!
did anyone else notice that the CIA lady looks suspicious at her, whenever Neuman probes with her questions for witnesses or any evidence that could harm the company? she suddenly looks at her and makes a concerned face every time. she either knows whats up, or suspects her already. 4:34 for example.
I was planning on going through all the episodes so by the time I was done, the final would be released... Then I saw the final was released early 😆 Loved it!!!
Another clue: When she's looking at the chairman, you'll notice she preemptively closes her eyes before the chairman's head explodes. Why? Because she's about to kill him and doesn't want the mess getting in her eyes.
I thought it was because her eyes turn translucent white when she does it, like with the Church leader at the end of the episode. Seems lazy since she kills many in the court scene in rapid succession with no eye closing or milky white eyes. My only guess is that she can't directly see the church leader (maybe a spec of his sillouette from the window) so she has to really concentrate for longer ranges like a sniper would... idk let's hope they have a reason next season but most likely just tv show dramatics
Great ep. Personal theory... picture this... Next season black noir walks in perfectly recovered. But little do we know the original noir died from the almond joy (lol) and was replaced by a homelander clone. The audience still thinking its the original only for a big twist later?
@Adarsh. Im inclined to agree about Ryan especially now they have sort of stated hes more powerful than his father. But it would be a great twist, and a way to still stay true to the comic AND surprise the audience
It doesn’t make much sense, she literally shows on Tv after Rainers death, I mean they don’t say it was live but it looks like a live interview she is on. I m thinking they changed this when they were told they would get a 3 season, because if we remove Neumman scenes this episode worked as a series finale.
Karl Urban as Butcher and Anthony Starr as Homelander slayed in the last episode. That desperate cry laugh when Homelander realizes he has lost his son and his lover stormfront and the moment of pure rage when Butcher realizes his wife died...wow.
@@nekrositoh Never thought of that possibility, even if the writers themselves didn't, you made an excellent point and thereby soothed my ponders, if that makes any sense :p Thanks!
It COULD be a proximity thing. When she killed the church leader she was like 50 feet away, everyone she killed in the court room was within a room's distance. Maybe doing it from a farther reach takes a toll and she needs to recharge and that's what the eye thing is.

Watching stormfront get triple teamed was therapeutic. Gurls Get it Dun.
Good ol nazzi beatdown.
In the comics the men stomp Stormfront(male version) to death. Kimiko laughing and saying she's going to put her boot up her kitty might also be a reference to the comic where Stormfront gets his nuts stomped on repeatedly.
I had to laugh
Ik its different studios/rating
But compare that... to the marvel movie "girl power" moments. Like fuck , marvel really gave the lady heroes the shit end of the stick.

Yes exactly
So, is that actually Billy Butcher's son they injected the same compound-V they gave Homelander?
@@RettG no. That's Homelander's son. Homelander raped Becca and she ended up pregnant. She knew the baby had powers that's why she went to Vought for help. Ryan is the first child from a supe to be born with powers. That's why he is so special to Vought.

This show is such a genius. So many hints here and there, we just didn't notice because we're focusing on the obvious plot all this time !!
I thought this season was wildly mediocre. Nothing happened. No showdown with Homelander. The big finale was Maeve beating him with a cell phone video zzzzzzz

I kind felt bad for Homelander, the first time I perceived his humanity. If Stormfront wasn't in the picture, Ryan could have been Homelander's redemption chance.
Yep. But the world/fate doesn't allow.
Yeah you could tell he actually wanted to be the father he never had, he made a mistake trusting Stormfront and started realising that in the finale. It goes back to his narcissism, he really sees himself in Ryan, and wants to keep him from suffering like he did, in his own way. Homelander is so well written and acted in this show
Yes, you could sympathize with him for the first time. Having his son taken and stormfront in that condition, without able to be able to do anything.
I've had sympathy for Homelander ever since seeing how he was raised in a lab alone..that blanket scene got me..ik hes evil but any kid growing up like that would have issues
You mofos really trying to argue that Homelander is redeemable ? Lmaoooo I'm gonna call the police on your asses
Imagine if she tried to blow up Homelander's head before, it just didn't work
That’s probably why she was so scared in the first place when staring at him, she was in fear that she couldn’t do anything to him
That’s what I wanna know, could she blow up his head or any of the other powerful supes
I think she can but it would be counter productive. As homeland er is the main cash cow and the symbol of "peace" of Vought
We know she can blow up people with powers because she killed shockwave but maybe not homelander. I wonder if she popped Kimiko's head, would it grow back? I'm curious to the extent of her power.

What about Cindy as well? She was blowing people up too

And then you realize that it falls apart because two more heads explode after she turns her back and leaves the room.
Have to admit, I was surprised she was the head popper! I knew it was an unknown supe but well done Kripke!
Everyone was!!
That doe-face guy/girl was supposed to be the face-popper ...
Then - my hero, Victoria, seems to sell out to the Church ...
... but POP! :)
I'm imagining how series 3 will be about a "good" superhero (Victoria - the AOC of the show, quite clearly) popping peoples' heads if she thinks they are holding back political progress!
Tying in with Starlight's "I would have cried before, but now I feel nothing" after that innocent guy got killed after reaching for his gun.
It will be about how good people with superpowers end up being a menace to those they heartfeltedly (?) swore to protect.
What is AOC?
@Heschewingonit If she isn't fighting for the people - then she's certainly making herself into unnecessary target practice for right-wing cowboy fucks.
Her superhero story is one of the greatest America has ever seen - I hope it ends with 2 terms of the Presidency like it deserves.
Mai Nem AOC is hot garbage 🗑
The subtle clues are amazing, now that I rewatch it. It feels like watching a murder mystery, looking for clues to the killer.
@ the show has digressed far away from the comics. So comic readers won't have any better insight than show watchers
E1V1A this show is deviating very far from the comics. Season 3 maybe can turn that around, but the direction they are going is much better than the comics
@ lmao no. I saw videos with this exact theory. Many people also confirmed that some people on reddit also made a post on it.
Victoria is basically a super sniper, but instead of head shots she goes for head pops.
if she has x ray vision, that would explain how heads were still popping when she left the room of the Congress hearing
Just my stupid theory - What if Hughie joined her to get info for Butcher? 🤔 he just randomly decided to join her like that’s little random and looking back at episode 7 Butcher reaction to head pop was like he knew something was up plus he didn’t trust her, did he?
Woah ur on to something lol
Cuz at the end of that episode it ends with showing Butcher not fazed at all and thinking looking at the camera
Sure it might be that way because the way Butcher attitude was seems like he knows the game very well.

That would be immensely satisfying.
is the watchmen series good? I have interest in watching it but I don't know
Hmm this theory looks very interesting
hmmm i like this.
Just my theory
he was talking about her being mexican he is a secret nazi

Or she wears contacts
@@user-vn7ce5ig1z You overestimate people.

They don’t say that Supes can’t have kids - they say that Ryan is the “first NATURALLY BORN Supe” as in kids have never been born with powers before

Nah. He has always been the strongest person in the room. He has fought tons of powered people. I just dont think he can comprehend anyone can hurt him. In the comic, the only person that could hurt him was his clone because he shared the same powers.
He's never had to watch out from anything before. He was probably just shocked and didn't know what to do

I definitely think that her power is not enough to pop his head. Remember that supes have bodies that are hard o break. I think they will make exception for head popping as well.
homelander was just trying to figure out who was doing it
So... I’m guessing stormfront will come back in a Darth Vader suit?
that’s exactly what i was thinking i don’t think she’s dead if she could still move and talk after that there’s no way she’s dead
Julian Gonzalez yes, and the way they put her body in the scene really reminded me of Anakin after he lost his legs, etc... maybe I’m seeing too much, but there was a resemblance
Leighwilldofine that’s an interesting idea...
She looked like Chucky from Child's Play
@@juliangonzalez4538 Homelander said in his speech at the end that she's alive and kept at a non-disclosed location
Hughie might have powers but has never lashed out. Think about it, his mom left them the same way that Annie's dad left her because he didn't want to be involved. So what if Hughie is unknowingly a supe
And his father always wanted him to be different than him, you may be into something.
Very well possible, but I feel like if he was he would have figured it out by now. At the same time this might explain how his dad was so clingy to him, and keeping him so sheltered because he did not want him to figure out his true potential. I guess we gotta wait for season 3 🤷♂️
He's been using his powers the whole time. Super nagging.
@@robinmaibals1193 dead 😂💀
Supes have more durability than normal human. Hughie was getting impaled in the car this season and almost died. He either doesn’t have superpowers, or it has never been activated or something.
good video man. no clickbait and short and detail packed in just the right amount. very nice. and hewey the catholic girl lol
Neuman instantly became one of my favorite characters in this episode
I was so scared that in that last scene Newman was gonna pop hughie’s head
Same
Cindy was such a great red herring that some people still think she is still connected.
I think Ryan needs to get away from the chaos and he will want revenge on homelander
That Kimiko neck snap shocked me lol I thought she was def going to die
Do you remember what Black Noir did to her? LOL
yeah wtf she can just unbreak bones?
Kimiko needs a katana already
she's basically the wolverine
Bruh she is a supe
but why blow shockwave's head tho? it's contradictory that Edgar wanted A-train out and then ordered Newman to kill shockwave knowing he's a-train's replacement, something doesn't add up.
Could have been a church favor but she was using him
maybe she didn’t want it to be so obvious that none of vought’s people were touched? she wanted it to look like a “terrorist” or something but im not sure
This woman put the terms "mind blowing plot twist" at another level.
So is Newman on Vought's side or is she secretly a double agent, since Raynor did say that there was a coup within Vought
I believe she says "it's vaught. Its a fucking coup from the inside" and its a mislead. Vaught is staging a coup from inside the government
@@MrToBeEvil Vaught is controlling her, they must have her daughter. Edgar knows that you need an opposition if he wiped out all opposition it would look obvious, so he is controlling the opposition kinda of like how he mentioned star wars the clone wars Paplpitine example controlling the senator while working for the sith same thing here
AzzaMATE Df you talking about.
@4:57 she also closes her eyes right before the explosion...she knew brains were coming
Newman had few scenes but is more of a psychopath than homelander himself... can't wait for season 3
I originally thought Ashley the vought assistant was going to be the headpopper
😱 she is not that cold blooded I think
@6:24 You can see that each person has a painting behind them on the wall. Victoria Neuman's painting is the only of the 3 paintings in which the character is sitting. Which is done to subtly hint at a difference in the 3 "humans" in the room.
You forgot one easter egg. In the background of the Voughtland scene, there are a few shots in which you can see a blonde woman. That was your mom.
Wait, I gotta tell this to my mom.
Ryan left stormfront on the grill for to long.🥓🥓
delicious lol
‘Pop pop!’ Gotta love Magnitude, he’s a one-man party 😂
In episode 7 the heads didn't stop exploding after Victoria Neuman left with Mallory. There were 3-4 explosions after she left. Maybe she doesn't need to be directly staring at her victims if she is not too far away?
I thought of this too, but my guess is she just yeeted it through the wall and got people by luck. I feel like their heads popped quicker too as if she was applying a lot of "force" through the wall. We know she can do it through objects as she gets it through the head of the churches window
It is also means there could be more than one. Like we didn't see her eyes change appearance like they did in the finale.
@@PR3DAT0R98 I think her eyes changing color was just to be a very clear visual cue for the audience. Kinda like in Harry Potter, they don't always say the spell they're casting, only when it otherwise needs to be clear to the audience exactly what they're trying to make happen.
Or maybe telepathy-telekinetic like Jean Grey?
Or maybe it's just bad writing. Just like Stormfront's lightning power being nerfed when it came to attacking The Boys. Just like Maeve turning up out of the blue in the nick of time (she's done this three times this season). Just like when Sindy can rip all the other doors off the cells but didn't bother with her own, which was easily melted by Lamplighter. Just like when A-Train handed over documents to two wanted fugitives on a busy street in broad daylight. etc...
Translucent had a son.
Everyone seems to forget that.
Translucent didn't seem like a loving step dad type.
That was just for the public.
@@mikeb6433 Mesmer had a kid too. Supes can have kids. They are born as normal humans. Ryan is the first supe kid born with powers, that's why he is special.
@@cristina7543 Indeed, Homelander, was supposed to be sterile not everybody. Supes with lower doses of Compound V probably can have children. And by the way, no one's gonna mention Stormfront? It's still possible that Stormfront had Chloe after she got her powers. If Frederick Vought had a stable Compound V formula for adults that probably would still be available for Vought. Frederick probably dosed Stormfront when she was younger, and then sexual predatored his way into marrying her.
1:59 screw you for changing the timing and making me jump AGAIN on the same scene!
2:35- "supes can't usually have children"
Facts from season 2- translucent had a son, stormfront had a daughter, homelander and Ryan... it was never said supes can't have kids, homelander only believed HE couldn't have kids
Supes can't have supe children,
That's why Ryan is the first natural born supe kid.
Yes right, they don't have any powers, only Ryan has.
Eventually that kid will get killed or die later on in the series
I'm loving Frenchie's character development. It was so wonderful seeing him say lets go dancing in sign language
Butcher and Homelander face off with the kid was such a goosebumps moment
I loved when all three girls beat the shit out of Stormfront
The ending with Hughie asking for a job reminds me of Peter Parker with the Daily Bugle.
OVERALL, that was a good ass season finale. I am so excited for the next season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
u can make a 10 min vid out of this
100% agree with all that! When it seemed like Hughie and Annie were gonna break up again, I got so pissed. But I’m kinda expecting Neuman now to either try to take him away from Annie or there be some love triangle with Annie finding out who she is, and Hughie thinking she’s just jealous or something.
Which is... Ugh I hate the “will they, won’t they” relationships in tv shows cause it’s obviously going to end in “they will” with a shit ton of unnecessary drama. Just let Hughie and Annie be together and be happy damnit!😂
Mostly right but theres absolutely no fucking chance they're gonna kill Ryan
I think they’re going to train Ryan to be the Homelander-killer that Noir was in the comic. Since Noir obviously can’t do that (he’s not a Homelander clone, and he’s also a potato right now 🤷🏽♂️). Ryan clearly had the potential to be stronger than Homelander, Homelander’s laser vision could only slightly burn Stormfront and Ryan have her the ole Anakin Skywalker treatment. That’s just my take, though.
@@andrewdavis3924 Good take bro! I was thinking the same about Ryan taking that role but didnt even think about the actual strength of his lasers in that scene
shockwave was such a nitwit, I would of been long gone if I was him.
So is it safe to assume that "ur mom" jokes retired for good?
From what I have noticed, he doesn't do them in the videos where he is filmed
I've only seen them on the easter eggs videos
Certainly hope so. That was pure cringe.
God I hope so. Man I know comedy is hard but yikes, makes it seem like the screencrush audience is just 13yrs old males
Great Show.
Could be a Stage Daughter. There to be in place of her real one in public. Easy to fabricate for a certain V company.
@@Keshin4539 very well could be.
I usually don't watch "explained" videos but this one I loved. Not long-winded and direct to the facts.
I just finished the episode. How did you re-watch the season?!

@@JamesStorrie +1
my god that was an amaaaaaazing finale!!!
Then I saw the final was released early 😆
Loved it!!!
My only guess is that she can't directly see the church leader (maybe a spec of his sillouette from the window) so she has to really concentrate for longer ranges like a sniper would... idk let's hope they have a reason next season but most likely just tv show dramatics
you are the only and most perfect one to explain the ending i found
Great ep. Personal theory... picture this...
Next season black noir walks in perfectly recovered. But little do we know the original noir died from the almond joy (lol) and was replaced by a homelander clone. The audience still thinking its the original only for a big twist later?
Where are they gonna find a Homelander clone now. Ryan will be the one to bring down Homelander.
@KampKarl have you watched the last episode
@Adarsh. Im inclined to agree about Ryan especially now they have sort of stated hes more powerful than his father.
But it would be a great twist, and a way to still stay true to the comic AND surprise the audience
Bringing homelander's clone meaning there are now two person who could take homelander down. Nah i don't think cloning is a thing in this series.
@@Rahul69726 They can do whatever they want. As far as we know Vought still has a lot of secrets that nobody knows
Victoria neuman all along. But why would she ever pop Rainer‘s head in the first place
Coz Rainer had just realised its Newman that’s working for vought
Teak Note why was she work with vought
It doesn’t make much sense, she literally shows on Tv after Rainers death, I mean they don’t say it was live but it looks like a live interview she is on. I m thinking they changed this when they were told they would get a 3 season, because if we remove Neumman scenes this episode worked as a series finale.
qsqzqz guess we have to wait next year for season three right
qsqzqz The scene after is cut to be after immediately, but we don’t have any reason to believe that isn’t an hour after her popping Neuman’s head.

I thought her eyes need to turn white like how they did in the last scene to pop heads (slight inconsistency) didnt in all the other scenes show prior
Major inconsistency, weird that i had to scroll through 50 comments to have someone mention this.

Maybe they are going to say that she was wearing contact lenses. To hide the "eyes turning white".
StardustLegend guys, it’s a damn comic book, not everything has to be 100% accurate or based on real life science 😅 this would be an awesome power to have though! 😈
