Thanks for clarifying this Steve! So many people (not from California) think Prop 22 is the same as AB5. 😀
Hi Lexi!! Exactly, that is why we broke it down today🫵🏼😎
@@RideshareRodeo You guys did well! 💯

I Still plan on moving out of California to Texas because of the ever increasing dark overreach of control freaks
100%
thank you so much for this information It's still a little bit complex for me but I think I'll come to understand it as time goes on. I just started Instacart in April in California the Sacramento region and I wasn't aware of any of this at all until I received my first adjustment for my first week of work and then I started to figure it out. what I don't understand is the original lawsuit that brought this on what was the Uber driver trying to accomplish by this because what I don't understand is how can you call yourself an independent contractor while still wanting the same rights and protections as a W-2 employee? like I said this is really complex for me and I'm still trying to figure it all out.
and I just wanted to clarify since you made comment about California and should have known about all this I actually moved from North Carolina in February so that's why I wasn't really aware of any event. I had heard something here and there in the news but still didn't quite understand and most of what I heard was focused on Uber and Lyft without any mention of Instacart or any of the other delivery apps.
Thank you for watching, Karen is the California expert on AB5 and I host a weekly podcast, together we did our best to get the information out fluently.
Bottom line: use 120% of minimum wage for Sacramento. that is what you must be paid for time you are actively shopping/delivering (active time).
*NOTE: tips are separate from active time pay*
Further stipulate what I just said why do you think Elon musk moved his base of operations Texas from California
again 100% 🫵🏼😎
