I did a roush claim on my brand new 5.0 f150 for misfires. They covered it. It’s been good for me but if I were to purchase aftermarket, I’d go whipple all day everyday.
As a owner of a 21 RS3 living in Houston I know the struggles of the Roush heat soak. Bought the car brand new and I’ve had nothing but misfire issues. No help from Roush whatsoever very dissatisfied.
I had a gen 3 Roush kit for the F150. I sat on it for over two years trying to figure out how to make it work without issue. I gave up on the build and sold it. Got a Mustang. Best decision I ever made with a vehicle
Look up a killer chiller. It would still be more efficient and effective with the whipple but solves the temperature problem. Tad pricey, so go Whipple if you have the option.
The killer chiller solves one thing while possibly hindering another. We’ve seen cases of the KC taking out people’s AC. That’s exactly what happened to this particular vehicle and that’s why he decided to just go Whipple.
I have a 2019 f150 5.0 with a Roush 2650 blower kit and a tune from 5 star and I have a blown engine with 62,000 miles on it... Diag. says low compression in cyl's 5 and 6. Still runs (but misfires badly) and it sounds absolutely fine believe it or not.... I'm not sure what's wrong with it yet, any guesses?
If you've got the Max Cooling Kit - we've not seen the same issues with those, thankfully. Most customers do not have their Roush blower cars equipped with that, sadly, though. Which is why we're working on solutions for those guys.
@@xxl3ftnutxx Yes, the NY weather surely helps, but even still you guys do get Summer weather. For you specifically though, the Max Cooling Kit will save you from these issues!

I have a 2016 GT with the roush charger running 12 lb of boost phase two car did some extra cooling mods switch the cold air intake for the jlt and switched the stock throttle body for the VMP twin throttle body and had a retune from Lund and have never had a problem with mine whatsoever so my question is is this a problem on the 2018 and up cars? Because mine I'm completely happy with and after switching to the jlt vmp twin tb and a revised Lund tune my car went from 658 whp/ 531 tq to 706 / 583 tq also car is full bolt on longtubes full exhaust and waiting on id1000s I think I'll be able to squeez more power with the id1000s since my 47lbers are at 93 duty cycle so currently I can only rev to about 6200 rpm with the new injectors and being able to rev alot higher into the rpms I'm thinking I should be able to pick up at least 30 hp maybe 20 tq or am I hoping for too much of a gain ??? Any input would be greatly appreciated thanks
Good to know. I was wondering if a larger supercharger pulley would reduce boost enough to help avoid some of these issues. If so, where would I purchase a larger pulley for a roush 2650 supercharger on a 2018 GT?
I love Whipple gen 5 superchargers, in my 20 GT350R I've just upgraded to the 3.8 from the 3.0. My 22 GT500 went to Shelby American for the KR and widebody packages. It was delivered with a 3.8, man the hp #'s are through the roof. GT350R-1003rwhp, GT500-1254rwhp on E85 with RPG built engines. I have a Roush supercharger in my Backdraft Cobra, but after Whipple put up those #'s numbers I have to upgrade that one too. I wonder what 1000rwhp will feel like in a 2600lbs go-kart? 🤔
Actually Roush sez it right in there instructions, must be installed by ASE Certified Shop however the sucky part is the warranty stars from the build date so if you have a low mileage 19GT like me about (8500 miles) u have no Roush Warranty because my GT Convertible is 4 years old That said, have u guys tested the $1699 brick yet, Also are u on the supplied Roush tune or a custom tune? I guess in the end u just go custom tuned Whipple, I ended up selling my other 19 Roush GT Coupe because of the heat soak… But in cool air it did run well Shame Roush dropped the ball on 18+
Well be testing the brick ourselves soon and will post test results. What we know from other people testing is that it WORKS 👌🏼 It’s like there was never a heat issue. So it has the potential to be an unbelievable game changer for those with a Roushcharged GT.
GREAT VIDEO. I've considered grabbing a Roush blower because it's cheaper but this gave me all the knowledge I need to know I'd be selling it again RIGHT after the install 😂
Earned a sub, look forward to the cooling solution as I have a roush blower myself. Have you guys tried interchiller? I do hope Roush admit and correct this issue.
I don't think they ever will, the tried to fix it with the larger heat exchanger and again with the Max Cooling setup. Root issue is still the intercooler.
@@Cigargreg I don’t think so either, so I’m likely gonna do interchiller and whatever other cooling mods available when the warranty is done. So another year for me. Hopefully by then someone will have a good solution.
@@79stroker thanks, I was going to wait until end of next years summer before modding the supercharger. So I’ll wait until then to see what’s all available.
Would installing roush's intercooling system solve the temp issue? Genuinely asking as i am about to get a roush supercharger from cjpony. Its just as big as whipple's brick.
They do not. The 2015-2017 Gen 2 Coyotes are only Direct Injected. So the valley where the intercooler sits is big enough for Roush to put an actual brick that gets the job done. The +2018 Coyotes have DI and PI.
@@ParkerPerformanceFLwrong. The 2015-2017 are port injection. And a larger heat exchanger will solve most of the heat soak issues with spirted driving.

The simple solution to the problem shown in this video has been out from Roush for some time. Adding the extra aux. coolers for the Supercharger and the aux. radiator cooler fixes any perceived problem! This is what is referred to as the Roush Stage 3 Supercharger package. The overall volume and area of the cooling system is then greater than the Wimple SC kit and keeps not only the SC temp lower, but the added secondary engine cooler keeps overall engine temps lower also. Sense the coolers are not all under the SC the overall effect is cooler airflow into the engine and better engine temperature control.
