- Forza horizon has generally been in a Little Dark Age, I just hope that it gets over it soon so we can get back to playing some quality racing games. This is also a bit of a teaser for my next video.

The downfall of forza for me was the fact that we are no longer an underdog. In fh1 we were a nobody that got to the top. In fh5 we are the superstar hall of fame champion. Do whatever you want, with whatever cars gets old really quick.

Ok but I unironically wanted to have a story dedicated to this. An underdog rose to fame and yet unsatisfied with his dreams as his moral retardation takes over.
@@BamPaulSkiddyleaf barely lol, horizon 1’s story is almost completely detached from all the other games. FH2 and beyond is kind of a different story tho so I’d agree with you there

Always been a PlayStation guy, but I bought a 360 just to play Forza Horizon 1 and oh boy was I amazed by that game. I also did play FH3 after it was released on PC and had a good time with it, but it still doesn't come close to how good playing FH1 felt

Finished FH1 again on Xbox One a few weeks ago, the first time being on 360 a year or so ago, really a phenomenal game. There's just an athmosphere that I never found anywhere else, especially not in Horizon 4. The game in its entirety is so beautiful and distinct, even today and there's so much to do in single player, which I love because I don't often have the luck to play with other people which is why I ended up going back to Horizon 1 after my Xbox Live Gold ran out. I really do love Horizon 1 and each time I play it I'm glad I had the idea to buy a 360 even if it was Sonic'06.
I really hope a good racing game will soon come out and dare to have an artstyle again. Most people will argue that NFS Unbound does, but I don't exactly agree as, to me, Unbound feels too surperficial in its style, not going all the way and stylizing everything along with the cars and world although that's probably just me. Not that it matters, I don't even have what's needed to play the game anyways.

Yeah, I hope we get something soon that's able to stand up with the old classics. Also, I think I'm handling it alright, now I've just got to figure out how to make it into more consistent growth.
@@Fastminer07 Don't overwork or trap yourself in something you don't like, we hear too much about these kinds of stories on youtube. You're a fantastic creator and I don't think anyone wants to see you burnout or anything like that
Yeah, I made sure to pick something I knew I'd enjoy making for a while when I starting doing this a few months ago, + I've got other projects in the works when this is done so I'll be good for a while.
Horizon 1 and 2 are goated
Racing games outside sims have no place these days
I understand a lot of issues people have with nfs unbound too but it has a fresh take with its character design, they've got a foundation at criterion to build on now and gain the brands trust again so let's hope the arcades survive
As for forzas simcade horizon series it's clear there's a serious hype train on release then 97% of players disappeared a month later, I was one of them and I only bought fh5 because it's on xbox one, had it been a series exclusive I'd probably not even have bought a console again just to play forza like I've done for the last 2 gens since 2011

i love the progression you get in FH1, starting with C and B class cars, getting to enjoy them, and progressively upgrading. nowadays it seems so boring to just race whatever you want.
I hope this gets the views it deserves cause it represents everything I’ve felt about Horizon recently
My first Forza game was Forza horizon 3 and I absolutely loved it, it was a great game with fun gameplay. Talking with Warren and listening to him rant on at barn finds and the auto show was just fascinating. I just wish that Microsoft would stop being so focused on money and just make a good Forza like the old days.
Horizon is a corporate normie food now, it became popular, so corpo decided to capitalize on it with the usual "bigger - morer - better" corpo mindset, making it just as bland and inclusive as any other stuff corpo touched

I see Forza Horizon as the Fast and Furious of the videogame industry (at least for the racing game segment). It’s become increasingly detached from reality for the sake of appealing to a wider audience.
yeah forza has really been lacking lately. I played horizon 3 and it was amazing. when I played horizon 5 it just didn't hit the same. great video Fastminer!

holy shit the chills i got from this, og horizon was my literal childhood, this, dirt 3, and forza motorsport 4 built me. This somehow made me so emotional and I applaud you for it. Racing games will never be what they once were. You, sir, know what was legendary.

FH3 was my favorite, but I have only properly played through 3, 4 and 5. played the 2 as well, but not enough to compare it
I don’t really complete or play much with the older games except fh1 and fm4, it’s just forza kinda kills the older games and make them boring to play, which is very very annoying.

First horizon absolutely destroys all of the others
in terms of story and progression yeah, but other aspects it shows its age and falls flat. I think fh3 was the last decent horizon game. Ok story, decent progression, good car list, great dlc, great map.

I think I might have started the Forza horizon little dark age trend about 7 months ago. I like that I inspired others to make these type of videos.
I did see your video while researching for this one, but my main inspiration for this was the LDA edit on Rally

All I’m asking for is a storyline that’s easy to follow along and not to big of a map mexico feels empty but full cause it’s built around eliminator mode. the core of the map is completely empty

The first Forza Horizon is a perfect game! Perfect!
From the second with the whole let's just run, hold hands and be friends, I was just disappointed.

I will say yes Forza is going through a dark age right now with the old games discontinued but I do hope Microsoft and turn 10 and playground hopefully go back to their roots but as I say now this is a big if so it might not happen

Forza Horizon 5 is getting solid updates since the retirement of the old teams, I think they has seriously realized the problem.
Chilling for me considering I’ve put 3200 hours into horizon 1, a couple hundred into horizon 2 and about 500 in 3-5. Since day one
I'm really looking forward to it. I was late to Forza Horizon with the 4th being the first one I ever played, and it felt like a letdown, so now I'm not really sure if I even want to get the older titles for my 360.

I recommend horizon 2 on the Xbox one, the 360 version of horizon 2 is a broken downgraded mess

Forza 5 was just a map update for 4
They use for fun and to find and screw around like easter eggs
FH5 online was broken so badly for the first couple months that it wasn't possible to play with friends. So everyone stopped playing.
I've had a lot more fun playing FH1 on Xenia Canary than I've had playing FH5
I L O V E the old forza’s, it’s just I never had the chance to really experience them in the good days. So, the old ones kinda feel dead, making me not play them much. Playground knows what they’re doing and it’s evil. Mostly FH2 and sorta fh3. FH1 is as good as ever, i just never went to complete it, I just play with it.

I might actually buy fh1 to see what it’s like. I played fh2 on the 360 so I missed out on all the Xbox 360 content and by the time I got an Xbox one fh4 had already come out so I pretty much missed out on all the good ones.

I personally enjoyed FH4 a bit, being my first Horizon game since I played the OG years ago, but when I envitably learned of the true nature of Turn 10 and Playground.. especially the state of the community - It poisoned FH5 for me - which did a lot, since the game alone was already a bit mediocre.

Forza Horizon 2: same as FH, but added killed servers
Forza Horizon 3: dumbed down the game, still glorious but did the same as FH due to auctions
Forza Horizon 4: gives you everything, makes you quit
Forza Horizon 5: they want you to waste yourself on this garbage

I've never played 1-3 Horizons, only played the first one's demo on Xbox. Horizon 4 was a good game for me, even though when I tried to play it with my friend, it was a big mess.
FH5 just baffled me by how lazy and similar to FH4 it was, but base mechanics were removed or changed to the worse, like ranked playlists, wheelspins that gave worthy rewards and interesting (at least better than in fh5) forzathon activities.
I still play fh5 just to drive cars around, but as a game service it's as good as dead for me.
Forza horizon 3 was my first Forza game and it's still my favorite. Fh4 and Fh5 feels so boring.

Horizon 1 to 3 were so good.
Something about 4 (and later 5) was just so, meh, not exciting anymore, even though they gave us new features, seasons (okay I hated the seasons because you could only ever ride normally in the summer) and so on, but for me Horizon lost its appeal. Granted, I played several hours nonetheless, but I never felt as much joy, as I had when driving through south France, or Australia, with random people I became friends with for the holidays. Those were the days man, just doing shananigans, drifting, car-meets, racing.
I am genuinely curious for this next video, why has it gone so downhill?
Rumour has it the next Horizon will be set in Japan, maybe the atmosphere (IF DONE RIGHT) will save the game, but I am not so certain about it, seeing how Horizon 5 is getting "weekly content", which is just the same cars from older titles again in the Season-thingy. Which BTW made the Forzathon kinda irrelavant, even tho the Forzathon was way cooler... And dont get me started about the "Storys", the Donut Media one in particular. How is driving from one point to another with a little bit of talking in the background considered a story??

Fh4 and Fh5 are totally forgettable, specially 4
The game lost its soul, I didn't even bother to buy Fh4 and never played it again since Fh5 came out, which I also didn't bought and don't plan to do it
There is no progress anymore, everything is just thrown in your face all the time. All I did in both 4 and 5 was just driving around the map and sometimes here and there play an event that I had no ideia which one to do next
I still play all the previous 3, specially fh2.
They still had the festival vibe and the feeling of improving throughout the gameplay, trying to win races to buy and build faster cars
The DJs saying "Horizon 2012" in FH1 give me chills everytime, I feel like I'm back 11 years ago
I feel this started in fh3 by being the head of the festival, this made the game lose a little bit of the feeling of starting from the bottom and going up, but it still was a great game that I still play and feel good while doing it
But hey at least now it's inclusive and you can became a transgender in Horizon with neutral language lol
Part of the downfall of these games has to do with them being on game pass. You get people that just want to win at all costs. Meta wasn’t really a thing before just having fun.
