MFG still looks pretty good, we're at least getting a car anime in 2023.
That's true but it won't have the same effect as Initial D. I severely doubt the quality of MFG compared to Initial D, story wise, won't be up to standard

I remember staying up late in my bed watching initial d and getting goosebumps from the sudden silence of the music when someone makes a risky move. It’s amazing, I hope mf ghost can deliver the same effect

Tbh I miss Initial D, I would be happy if they would comeback with a new storyline, but I guess MF Ghost isn't all bad. Don't hate me but I prefer Initial D
I won't judge MF Ghost until the actual show comes out so I get to watch it. However I agree with you, they could've done a prequel to Initial D of Bunta's young days, or sequel of Keisuke career as a professional racer and a future story of Takumi and Ryosuke.

@@leskyLSK seems like you didnt read anything of MFghost tho, they explain there that takumi became a legendary rally driver and a few things about his career. I think that the main point that caused MFghost to drop before a prequel or a sequel of takumi and keisuke is the fact that Shuichi is fucking 64 years old and he wanted to give us this story instead of the others, so I think its gonna be a good sequel

That would be a bigger flop, don't you even realize it? plenty of people found Initial D 4th stage and above quite boring and repetitive, if they try to make a new Initial D they either stick to the original and be a repetitive flop or try to do something new but wouldn't be close to good as the original (and would also be a flop)
MF Ghost was something different even if they are set in the same universe, if they actually try to continue the Initial D storyline then the lore would make no damn sense.
You either end the show "Good" as Adventure Time or continue it as a piece of garbage like Spongebob Squarepants
bruh, the story of MFG is that Japan banned IC engine cars thats why there is a motorsport to calm the people down. this is actually gonna happen since MFG is set in late 2020s

The wings are the aura of Takumi radiating from the car as their minds and bodies fuse to form the ultimate downhill expert...
The wings are the reason it is know as a "Ghost" Car... It behaves like no other car ever seen... because metamorphycally it doesn't run... it glides....
The wings also signify his intentions... the wings are shown opened as though a bird is going to take flight... and flight in this case is Takumi entering the "Fujiwara Zone" where he attacks turns so skillfully his car becomes faster than any other... like, it just suddenly increases the speed...
I don't care about what people say about MF Ghost. I really like it, I'm absolutely hyped for the anime and I'm also happy that car animes are making a comeback with it. They really should make an OverRev anime as well.

i think mf ghost is actuallya great refresher, an if you think about it the gr86 is really just like the ae86 in the sense that the cars it will be going against are 10times better than it

This is going to be the first in a long time in anime where Super cars are focused in racing. Which I like cus we rarely see super cars in anime except for those short cameo's in anime.

A little words from me. Both Initial D and MFG are using the car with the same number (86). The different between this two is Initial D had a lot of drifting with their some or lot of skill and mechanical what they need. And of course, its an illegal race.
In MFG, the race was more close to the circuit race (wich mean its an legal race) but they race on the road track. About the mechanical race is more like racing in modern era, including cornering, slip stream, etc.
The series did nothing but improve. LEGEND was the cherry on the cream.
it is a truly exciting time to like JDM cars but be too poor to own any kind of car ever

there’s something about Töge’s and Circuits/Racetracks, If you want to be the fastest driver, go to a Circuit or a Racetrack.
but if you want to be the most talented, or even the best “driver” go to a töge.
the reason why i think of this is, circuits feel unfair for me because its sometimes theres more straights, than corners, making some cars not be able to compete with their other stats compared to a supercar. because one day i’ll remember there was a time when the car didn’t matter. but the driver did.
I would cry some tears if I saw an older Takumi with his aged AE86 with the Tofu lettering on the side.

MFG's been good. It's not the same as Initial D and probably won't reach the same cultural influence, but it's really fun to watch.
Remember when Itsuki bought an 85 thinking it was an 86 ? that's the funnyiest moment in Initial D
By now MF Ghost has a different vibe to Initial D, since all racing takes place during the day. But overall it's a good story with a bit of nostalgic moments, but Shuichi Shigeno drew MF Ghost as a direct sequel to Initial D, so I get the nostalgia trips there were so far
I don't see MF Ghost the same without Takumi racing.

As much as I'm sort of glad racing in animated media are still remaining. What I'm not tolerating however is MF Ghost being a 1 to 1 copy (and somehow managing to be worse) than Initial D storywise. What we need in this day and age are better and more diverse racing stories.

I havent had the time to see the new trailer but i do have a little theory after this video, the red car (not sure what model) has been trying to beat takumi's score ever since his unbeatable record. and probably be trying to do so but he doesnt understand how, which he might try and figure out during the show's first season or maybe try and surpass it, lets hope that it would at least take 2 seasons to beat takumi's record, he deserves it (since im also not sure if takumi's driving that car or its a new protaganist)

Personally i have no opinions yet on MFG i still give it a chance to have a verdict since its early stages but i know there is manga pero i wanna see in anime form to see how it does
This one of the best little dark age fun theory Takahashi fun fact is also the father of drifting i think the show displays him as coach and a league of his own since his also a race car driver as well ( i forget if ryosuke is an actual racecar driver)
