Thank you so much for the upload, this game brings back so many memories from when i was a kid and my dad was still alive, i would play this for hours on weekends while my dad would watch sometimes..ah the feels man.
Same for me man dad passed when i was 12. He would buy me games for my NES and told me we would play Super Marios Bros. together sometimes but never got the time...busy days for our parents only these days i can understand better...
I used to play this game with mom when I was a child. We tried everyday and made it to last level once, but we couldn't pass it. Then we never played again
When I was a child, I used to play this game all through and run away at the end. I always gave the controller to my sister so she can beat the dinosaur at the end because I was terrified of him... :') Thank you for uploading. It makes me feel so happy to watch it.
@@v0ver When I played this game I was like 8 yrs old Today probably would be easy but anyway I never been a gamer or something like that I rather played football outside . . .
i had this game on a bootleg of nes and on a bootleg cassette. i loved this game a lot. I had found all the bonuses exempt the witch house level. Oh, man good memories
Ahhh the memories, remember me and one of my buddies playing this game, getting pretty good at it, not quite good enough to finish in one setting. Have left my unit on ALL day whilst gone to school, only to come home to burnt smell and an angry mom... we DID finish the game, but it cost me a console. :D excellent game!
Surprisingly easy, but the mechanics, level design and overall presentation is where it's really at. It's not the easiest game to code, even today. I love games where the developers have actually spent time on it and that shows here.
Well. I must say. This game had a perfect difficulty for a children game when we tried to pass it with my brother and succeeded too. It was a blast too.
@@nesking3115 I remember renting it from the local supermarket's video/game rental section. Probably should've bought it when they were selling off their NES stock, huh? 🤷♂️
I've never been able to beat this game because my cartridge was probably screwed or it was a really bad clone. On the last level, where there's a big boulder that's shaped like a donut, I'd get stuck because the thing would freeze on me. It was JUST there, and always in the same place! No matter how many times I cleaned the cartridge contacts, it never worked. Watching the ending is just awesome.
Super Mario 8 is that the one I played? Let's check it out- GRAND DAD!? GRAND DAD!? GRAND DAD!? GRAND DAD!? GRAND DAD!? GRAND DAD!? GRAND DAD!? GRAND DAD!? GRAND DAD!? GRAND DAD!? GRAND DAD!? Fleetstones.... You know who made this? Me! Hold I'm aware this has some cartridge art to go along with. It's just that hilarious!
There are a few must have games that I remember back when I was growing up. My first was Donkey Kong on the Atari 2600. Then more came up, but it wasn't until the 8-bit and 16-bit days that games became must haves. For me the Nintendo NES showed me how incredibly awesome cartoon based games could be. Movies? Not so much.....Yes LJN I'm referring to you! But this cartoon genre became one of my go to for games. Second only to my Sports games on the Sega Genesis. Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse on the Genesis was one of my all-time favorites! Bugs Bunny's Blowout if I remember correctly that is, was another top gaming choice. But the Flintstones? Those were ICONS! I loved the Bugs Bunny/Road-Runner Show more than anything, but the Flintstones were always at or near the top of every idea. When the NES brought out Fred, Barney, and the gang! Oh heck yeah! 😳 I was IN! THANKFULLY the games were decently made and not horrible like say Ghostbusters by, YES LJN! Even games with Cartoon-like characters had some epic games. Case in point, the TurboGraphx-16's Bonk's Adventure and Bonk's Revenge. Plus other crazy games like Toe Jam & Earl. Boogerman--A Pick & Flick Adventure....WTH? These classic systems have aged well and in my opinion have surpassed the newest Consoles by FAR!
OMG ! 🥺 me and my brother had this game on a Chinese NES clone console named Terminator with yellow cartridges lol I remember at the time we were astonished by the graphics ! good times ! 😄
Vine a este video porque estoy triste y la musica del mapa me trae tantos recuerdos de la infancia que me hace llorar y es como una terapia para sacar todo, se que no tiene nada que ver con el juego pero en realidad si, porque este me marco demasiado :'(
I Ultra love this game. Andnthe second as well. This lava stage is a hell. Specially the "rolling rock" part. Watching your video has made me find a solution for that part. The last part befor the end of the rolling rock is the hardest, so i always stopped to take breath. But that was my mistake, because when i went forward, the rock was too close to Barney, and made life Harder! In your playing you go straight, without stopping. I will try that next time o my NES. hehe
Lo que me acuerdo que despues del juego que lo hayas termiando, empieza la parte de los supersonicos... What I remember is that after the game that you have finished, the supersonic part begins ...

Hard story
This game isn't even the grand dad game. It's Flinstones rescue of Dino and Hoppy
The Grand Dad thing grew old fast, extremely fast. People have this ability to take a meme and run the thing into the ground.
I also like that they just slapped Mario’s head on the body, they didn’t even try.
One of the best games from the childhood. Big ups to the sound team for creating such a kick ass background scoring for every stage. Best memories 🖤

It is, though stupidly expensive due to being a late NES release after the SNES came out.

Another insanely expensive NES game. This one was supposedly a Blockbuster exclusive.
But now there are ROM's :)
Yes, it's a GRAND game.
And not only that, but it’s also the official sequel to Grand Dad!😏😎
I cracked up when whomever is playing had both Fred and Barney smack Mr. Slate before leaving, LOL!
Very G R A N D

so this would be GRAND DAD 8?
Or 14
arlobo1 grand dad 6
Yeah. Make that 8.
I would just go with "Grand Dad Strikes Again"
As a matter of fact, someone at ROMHacking.net is indeed planning on hacking this as a sequel to 7 Grand Dad. ;)
Fleenstones?!?!?!
I love how the game casually throws in dragons into the first level.
soundtrack of this game is out of this world. such quality.
