    Wizzrobes are also in Zelda 2 in some of the later palaces. They're a bit more annoying too, since they can only be defeated by casting reflect and then bouncing their own magic back at them using Link's shield.

      You are correct, this is an over sight on my behalf. They are called Wizards in Adventure of Link not Wizzrobes but you are correct! I’ll make sure to ad it to the final video where I’m adding revisions like this into the long video with all of the parts together! 💕

      @@Bashfulday Actually, every language except English seems to call them Wizzrobes in AoL, so I think this is another translation issue. I'll try to find the Japanese name of them and get back to you on that
      Also, regarding Wizzrobes, you mention they are missing a z in Majora's Mask English, but it's also worth mentioning this mistake is corrected in MM3D where they are correctly spelled Wizzrobes

      @@Bashfulday Generally speaking the 2010s remakes and SSHD correct a fair few translation errors regarding enemy names, like how I previously mentioned that TPHD corrects "ReDead Knights" to their Japanese name of Gibdo. ALttP GBA also corrects a lot of similar translation errors in similar fashion. The remakes should be used as the primary frame of reference for videos like this, after the Japanese versions of the remakes of course
      I think you outright forgot to mention ALBW Wizzrobes entirely though

    I always forget peahats are even in Ocarina. I encountered them my first playthrough because I was exploring everywhere, but they're only in one little area, and tucked off to the side, so all subsequent playthroughs, I avoided them without even trying. You have to go out of your way just to see them! My first reaction was a lot like yours, though. I saw them, and I ran away because of how huge they were.

  • @KairuHakubi
    @KairuHakubi 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

    it's funny how Aches tried to replace Keese in Zelda 2, and then they were like nope, we're back for every other game. Even the next one to introduce new unrelated bats, they still put in Keese too.
    Degudoga may have only made two appearances, but there is a variant called Geldoga that the localization decided to call "Vitreous" because I think someone bought a new thesaurus. Granted, the only thing they have in common is 'eyeball.'
    There's actually a variety of names for the various 'statue heads that shoot at you' but it's kind of pointless since they're all basically the same. Wind Takt gave us that weird bust of a Moriblin that shot eye lasers at you... and Ocarina had just fireball-shooting eye statues which might actually be the best disguise they've ever had.

    • @Bashfulday
      @Bashfulday  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I think for the Gel I might add a little spot in there about the Vitreous, because you’re correct they kinda look like a cross between Gel and Patra, but it’s kinda odd they chose to put it in with the digdogger and not Patra 🤷🏽‍♀️ For the stone statues, I just tried to generalize them for everyone’s ease, I could have went on for 5 minutes going over everyone of them. I enjoy having small tangents like that but I know not everyone does so that’s why I try to keep all of the enemies kinda short and to the point! 😋

    • @KairuHakubi
      @KairuHakubi 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Bashfulday If there's two things I can never get my head around, it's the weird overlap of zelda enemy names. So many different names for basically 'there's eyeballs'
      Plus some names get reused for totally different creatures, who only have a theme in common. e.g. apparently anything with an armored mask is a Hiploop, be it reptile or bug.. and anything BIG with an armored mask is a Siegrock, reptile or _bird._ but real life mythology is like that a lot, especially in Japan, so eh.
      I think your pacing's been pretty good, though you maayyy not need to list out every game each enemy has been in, in full like that. If you felt like streamlining it, you could make a chart, or rattle them off by number while the logos appear ;3
      OH and weird fact: it's actually gel with a hard G, not like the english word gel. Same name as the lizard enemy in zelda 2, but that one has an extended vowel.

    Theres inaccuracies and omissions here. You miss that Digdogger is a sea urchin from Clu Clu Land called a Unira, and Patra appears in Oracle of Seasons.

    • @Bashfulday
      @Bashfulday  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I was just doing a general breakdown of each, but I did in fact miss the sea urchin part for digdogger! However I didn’t include “Patra” from Oracle of Ages because It isn’t actually called Patra, it’s called Eyesoar. I do plan on doing an additional video talking about the “Sister” enemies from the series! There is actually a few enemies that fall into this category with their appearance! 😁

    • @JacobNintendoNerd99
      @JacobNintendoNerd99 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Bashfulday it's Patra. Eyesoar is just an inconsistent localization . There's actually a lot of these, like how Gibdos are in Twilight Princess but falsely translated as ReDeads in the original game's English version (but corrected in the Wii U remake and Hyrule Warriors).
      So it's not a different enemy, it's the same, this is just a fault of the English localizers not doing due diligence to check more than anything.

    • @JacobNintendoNerd99
      @JacobNintendoNerd99 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Bashfulday also as two bonuses: since Digdogger is a Unira from Clu Clu Land, it's worth mentioning that Manhandalla is described as a four headed Piranha Plant (Or "Pakkun Flower" as is the original Japanese name) in the Japanese version of the game, obviously a tie to Super Mario Bros enemies. This reference would continue in later games (even outside of Link's Awakening), with some design notes in later games even specifically noting that Deku Babas are intended to be an evolutionary ancestor of Hyrulean Piranha Plants, which does make Deku Babas related to both Piranha Plants and Manhandalla as a "sister enemy". Deku Babas even function identically to Piranha Plants in Mario Kart 8's Hyrule Circuit.
      In a similar but related vein you could include as a potential bonus fact, Chain Chomps were actually designed during the development of Legend of Zelda, not Super Mario Bros. 3. Whenever Miyamoto talks about how he designed Chain Chomps based on childhood experiences, he's actually talking about how he designed it for Legend of Zelda: The Hyrule Fantasy; a lot of the development of that game draws from Miyamoto's childhood, hence Chain Chomps also drawing from that to fit the theme of Zelda. But Chain Chomps ended up not being included in Zelda due to hardware and time constraints, but ended up being salvaged for Super Mario Bros. 3, which had the odd effect of making them a Mario enemy rather than a Zelda one.
      However, their original intended behavior and purpose showed up when Chain Chomps appeared as enemies in A Link to the Past, as well as several other games.

    • @Bashfulday
      @Bashfulday  หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s actually really cool! I will 100% be adding some of that in for the manhandlla and a tidbit for the Chain Chomps as well! I’ll do some more digging and see if I can get some more information on translations before this next video to make sure everyone is included in with the right Character!

    • @JacobNintendoNerd99
      @JacobNintendoNerd99 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Bashfulday should also be noted that some sister enemies are obscured by localization gaffes like this, if there's any notable ones you miss I'll let you know. On the subject of Digdogger, Vitreous is called Geldogger in Japanese and meant to be an eye/slime variation on Digdogger in that vein.

    While patra hasn't reappeared by name, there have been a lot of of similar enemies that kinda carry on its legacy. Arrghus from lttp and Wart from MM (probably some more examples that I cant remember) are both giant eyes surrounded by smaller eyes that you need to defeat first. It's weird how nintendo keeps reinventing the same fight with the same gimmick but always uses a different name for the enemy.

    • @Bashfulday
      @Bashfulday  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree, there are a lot of extremely similar or exact copies of enemies throughout the series with name changes. I thought about doing a video after all of the og 36 are finished compiling a lot of the “sisters/cousins” enemies that are like this with name changes like an honorable mention list video! There has been a few others mentioned that would fall into this category as well! 😋

    • @cravdraa
      @cravdraa หลายเดือนก่อน

      How close does it need to be before it's just the same enemy with a new name?
      Because technically, there are no Keese in Majora's mask. According to Tatl they're just called "bad bats" even though there's literally no difference between them and the ones from Oot.

    • @Bashfulday
      @Bashfulday  หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s a good question! I have no idea 😂 I’m just going to go through each games enemy roster and see visual similarities to any of the 36! I added the “keese” in from MM because OoT and MM are basically sister games when it comes to graphics and gameplay mechanics. I figured it was easier to explain why they were in there than a bunch of comments on why they weren’t haha! 😋

    • @KairuHakubi
      @KairuHakubi 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@cravdraa psh, a bad bat is totally differnt from a keese! They.. well, they happily fly around outside in the daytime, for one thing. With their larger size and big, squarish wings, I take them to be fruit bats while keese are clearly more of the typical insect/blood variety of bat that prefer darker areas.
      But there are also regular Keese in that game, along with the fire and ice ones.
