I play video games sometimes :)
Zelda's Echoes of the Past!?
Hey guys, this is a video comparison of the two maps from A link to the past(1992) and Echoes of Wisdom(2024). This is just as general break down, so nothing to extensive! I hope you guys enjoy :)

You can't teach an old Dog new tricks I guess, (Gamer AF) but I still watch a lot of content like this. Much Love.
Okay this was very useful! Thanks! I just started playing and this is very helpful.
Thank you, good lucky on your play through! 🤗💕
You forgot one of the most obvious when it comes to.the faeries, throw an empty jar into the fountain, she will return it with a green potion in it. You also skipped the location of the good bee, lol. Overall not bad.
Thank you! I also forgot about the Mad batter in the video as well, but I tried to get everything I possibly remember! 😁
If they didn’t include the rocks east of the castle I don’t think I would’ve even noticed how much they based the map on A Link to the Past
For me it was the great fairy island in lake Hylia plus the rocks!
I forgot how many cool random things to do there are there in this game! 😊
I have always really appreciated the attention to detail they put into this game! So many little surprises, I love it! 💕🤗
I played thru this game like 2000 times 😅
I have a few runs under my belt, but this is by far my favorite Zelda game of all time! 🤩
Sorry there is no magic upgrade that arter reduce your magic by half makes the game harder if u need magic to complete a puzzle the bat in the cave next to the blacksmith in the light world dont mess with that alter i did and it got harder
Bash, thanks again for checking out The Violets of Amicus™. It means a lot and it's always encouraging to see people enjoy what you make. We are always receptive to feedback and I would love to hear anyone's thoughts and opinions about the game. In fact, we just pushed up 1.0.1 this morning with some bug fixes and some adjustments from observing this playthrough!
You are you very welcome, I had a wonderful time!
I watched a few videos to make sure I hadn'T missed any secret and they all had the same info, so I was pleasantly surprised to find 3 or 4 stuff I didn't know in here. Great video!
Well thank you! 😋😁
All of the game maps overlap. Sometimes you are only seeing lesser hyrule, and in other games you are seeing greater hyrule, or other region locked areas that intertwine with other games. Towns change location, but the overall topography is generally the same in each game.
They are close I agree, I mean if you look at the map of AoL and the map of LoZ (86) you can clear see the whole map in the bottom area of the map in Zelda 2! 😁
Didn't notice how similar the central part of the map was to the one in ALttP because of all the extra areas they added :D
In a decade, "Echoes of Wisdom" will likely become a cult classic nostalgic game for gamers. Pol’s Voice appears in the game, but only as a stuffed plush toy found in Castle Town. It serves more as an Easter egg, as it wouldn’t have made sense for Zelda to include Pol’s Voice in a significant way. The characters tend to jump around and would be harmed by loud noises, so their exclusion from the game is just miserable. 😔
Nit, I love your admiration for Pols Voice 🥹 I have to agree with you, it would have been very cool to see them back. You could have used the rain frogs, to destroy them or something… you know, your campaigning has made me want them in the game now 🥴 They did miss a really big opportunity there!
@@Bashfulday I miss them too. Hope they return in the next Zelda game someday.
7:15 HOW dobi get there to begin with throughthe cemetery?
One of the graves other than the Cap is moveable! You move the stones in front of the grave and move it, it drops you down right at the cracked wall! 😁 it’s in the northwest portion of the graveyard!
A bunch of your secrets are required to beat the game
I can agree maybe a couple are necessary, but most of them are optional or just random stuff that might not get noticed as often! 😁
@Bashfulday very true. I'm happy to see people still playing this game and making videos on it 😀
This is arguably my favorite game of all time! 😋😁
@Bashfulday it is my favorite SNES game for sure. Just like FF7 is my fav PS1 game, and Half-Life 1 is my favorite pc game. All greats!!! Thank you for the conversation engagement with me. Its fun to have the video creator interactions
I love talking with you guys! 😋( My favorite PS1 game is resident Evil, and my favorite pc "game" is OSRS!)
Zelda 1's wizzrobes are a menace especially when the blue one attacks you in the doorway which supposed to be your safe haven. They're worse on the overworld (randomizer) because the outer edges of the screen are not safe as well. A pain but love the challenge. Unfortunately, they're less threatening in later games.
We need to back up here in the rando they can be in the OVERWORLD?? 😅 I might have to look into that! However, yes their doorway attack is pretty annoying 🤣
@Bashfulday Yeah... Rando can have dungeon enemies on the overworld and vice versa. Not bosses though. It'll be cool to have them on the overworld. However, I think fighting them there will be too easy. They're better in rooms with the possibility of locked doors. I usually play it with OHKO (one hit ko) with everything randomized to increase the challenge. You should do a playthrough with overworld wizzrobes one day.
"Zelda II" is still a cold pile of dog shit.
I’m not a huge fan of side scrollers from any game, but I think the part I don’t like about AoL is the XP system. It make the game more of a OSRS grind rather than a Nintendo game 🤷🏽♀️
This. Was. Awesome! The only thing that would have made it better would be if you also show the evolution of each location from ALttP > ALBW > EoW. Also, could the ruins near kakariko be the ruins of Thieves Town?
Thank you! I thought about making a few more videos with other maps and games for items/npc pertaining to EoW because of this thought!😋 I don’t know about thieves town, it’s basically a carbon copy of Kak, but maybe! 🤔
Ohhh yeah I forgot that's in the dark world. I was thinking about the underground structure.
Have you seen the skip to the end glitch?
I believe so, the glitch where you cave walk to ganon!? If thats the one I have actually tried it a few time, I don’t have any speed to it but I have done it a few times myself! 😁
@Bashfulday I found out about it. Tried it and got it on the first time. I felt really bad for the kid that had to call Nintendo hotline to beat that game 30 years ago
I think that area between the castle and the village is an example of how over time the land expands or contracts which is why in the different games things are overall the same but arranged differently around the map.
This is a very good point, I didn’t think about that! In the real world things move according to food and water flow, so it would make sense in the game! 😄
Very nice video, well put together
Thank you 😄💕
We need a actual sequel to the original zelda 1 and 2 the falen timeline. Having echo's of wisdom as a prequel does not makes sense.
This game is what happens when they actually try rathertha rehashing an old game and slapping a nee coat of paint on it while they spent 6 years developing 1 mechanics and shoe horning it in on top...😮
Basically the medalians are like this. Bombos is fire rod effect over the whole screen. Ether is ice rod effect over the whole screen. Quake is magic powder effect over the whole screen.
This is very true, I haven’t thought about it this way but it’s very valid! The magic powder is my favorite item in the whole game and I don’t know HOW I didn’t equate quake to it! I even know the effects of quake 🤦🏽♀️🤣
I recently won AlttP so it was fun catching the references xd Great video btw
Thank you! 😁 I have played ALttP WAY too many times and enjoyed every second of it, I hope you also enjoyed your time in the game! 😋💕
EoW is my favorite 2D Zelda to date and I am really amazed how many references to old games it has.
what a cool comparison, thanks for making this video! love seeing the differences, and even though I played a Link to the Past, I didn't even realize how much of the map was basically a 1:1 recreation!
Thank you so much 😁💕 I was shocked to see so many locations from ALttP, during gameplay I was literally fangirling over the map of all things! 🤣
6:39 - It's been years!! But I've finally found the flute!
I also hope someday we get a remake of ALTTP so new fans can enjoy the game with a new fresh coat of paint. Imagine the art style of EOW with ALTTP storytelling in mind. They could add new stuff to this remake so it can get better. 😅
I LOVE the idea of a complete remake of ALttP with the newer art style but the same clunky mechanics, could you imagine if a remake would have the same bugs as the og? THE GLITCHES WOULD BE COOL TOO (visually of course) 🤣
@@Bashfulday We could finally see the return of the Bunny Pink Link in 3D. Teehee!
I have wondered if Echoes of Wisdom started development as a remake of Link to the Past, would explain why it has the same map.
@@elio7610 Most likely the case. Hopefully we do get a remake of A Link to the Past someday.
This is gonna be a good video 😊 I love Zelda no pun intended 😂
I hope you enjoyed! It’s always nice to hear from you! 😄💕
@@Bashfulday Same I have been so busy with life. I'm still trying to find a way to get some money so I can maybe support you on future videos.
Your presence is more than enough! 🥰 I love chatting with you guys that’s always enough for me 😄💕
@@Bashfulday coolio. Hopefully, for more videos like these. The next video should be focused on Pols Voice and where he is at in Echoes of Wisdom. lol
I was hoping someone would make a video like this, this was better to watch than I thought! Seems like they mostly built off from A Link to the Past, but since we now know where Echoes of Wisdom takes place in the timeline have you considered making a similar video with A Link Between Worlds instead?
I had this video made a while before the official timeline placement, so yeah I would be up to do a grand map evaluation in a few months to do the whole map! This would include most of the 20 other games for their maps, maybe even npcs and items 👀 this could be a long video 😄
Seeing as the design team were aiming for the design of the Hyrule Kingdom in Echoes of Wisdom to appear roughly 300 years after Tri-Force Heroes, they've done pretty well at nailing that. Most of us could tell it fitted exactly in that place, well before it was confirmed.
This is true, I figured it was going to be in the fallen timeline with the map integration but I would have put it between two other games rather than TriForce heros and the original. However I do agree with their placement!😋 For Nintendo knows best. 🤣
4:55 To the *West*
4:50 South West
Underrated video!
Thank you! 🥹💕
