Hi Michael, yes this route could be done in a day but not by many people. I have seen a video on TH-cam of someone doing it in a day but that was without any bikepacking bags, sleeping kit, cooking kit etc. Basically travelling ultra light and you would need to be more at the elite end if the fitness spectrum have minimum breaks and use all daylight hours in the peak of summer. Two days is still very challenging for most. 3-5 days would be for most riders of decent fitness. A lot of this route is off road on gravel tracks etc which is also slower. Personally I could not do this route in 1 day but it is possible if an all out time trial in optimal conditions and circumstances. If touring 3 - 4 days is a sweet spot for most.
