Nice find John. I would grab all of the wood regardless of the moisture content. Your going to split and dry it for a bit anyway. I have found that when pushing in the meter pins the deeper inserted the higher the reading. With hard wood it's difficult to get the pins in so I always add a few percentages and with softwood I usually can get the pins all the way. It was when I inserted the pins all the way into softwood that I noticed the difference between the pins being 1/4 the way in verses the pins being all the way in. Anyway, I hope you got the rest of the wood. Take care!
I would say it was a stroke of luck that you ended up in the parking lot where the cut up rounds were. Good for you John. Firewood for sale and cleaning up the parking lot area around the business. Win win👍
