6:11 Wow, I never realised that. I thought that islands turning bloody is a good thing like “Hell yeah! They came so we spilled their blood onto the beaches!” Perhaps I should try getting a bloodless island in the future. Also: I would say that the extra coins from the philosopher’s stone are definitely worth it. Upgrading it costs five gold, and you always get two per island. So the upgrade pays for itself in 2.5 islands and the rest is just a net gain. Especially when you have several smaller islands ahead of you.
The Philosopher's Stone becomes much better with the Collector trait and if you get it early on. Normally the top level upgrade costs 9 coins. This means it takes an awful lot longer to be worthwhile!
@@roguebrothers Yes, the second upgrade costs 9 but since you get 3 per island, you need three islands to pay for it. So still good if obtained in earlier game. But collector makes it much better ofc
@@lordhamster9452instead of viewing it as gaining 3 coins, view it as +1 coin extra from the prior upgrade level That means it takes playing 5 islands with the commander to pay back the level 2 upgrade before you start profiting, and 9 islands to break even on the level 3. This changes to 3 islands / 5 islands breakeven if you have collector.
@@roguebrothers yeah I figured. I think it’d be cool if there was a way to start out as one of the unit types kind of like how you can start with traits and items once you’ve unlocked the ones with the outlines. Like maybe get a certain amount of kills with a unit type or smth like that.
Even with elite archers you can't guarantee a bloodless island. The Vikings just come from too many directions and usually some get through. Brutes in particular tend to be difficult to take out before they land if they come in numbers.
after 3 years still playing bad north man you are the first youtuber that did not forget what game he plays after a long time

Foreshadowing a bloodless play through?
Haha. I don't think this would be possible. Only Archers can make an island bloodless and you can't get them strait up
