The difference between christina‘s partners and Derek is that Derek understood christina was not a threat to their relationship, but a necessity for Meredith’s well being
yes, this became very obvious in that funny scene where Derek complained to Bailey that he didnt get much sleep because of Mertina phoning all night, and Bailey said "Oh, did you say "Yang goes or I go!"?" and he responded "I don't think i would've won that" :D
I just never liked Derek. He got on my nerves. But, Mark was more down to Earth hunk if you will. Meredith NEEDS Christina to keep her grounded.

Let's not forget that Christina had an apartment that Burke found out about later but did acknowledge that Meredith was a key player that convinced her to move in with her and that's why Meredith did not get in trouble when she ran labs, forged his signature and turned out to be wrong regarding a patient that was to happy.

The scene where Meredith cuts off the wedding dress and Cristina saying "He's gone, I'm free" it's by far one of the best scenes of the show. The friendshipp, the bond, the feels, everything is on point.
"He's gone, I'm free." is one of my favourite lines also because it shows just how much Burke put Cristina through. Slowly, caged her in. And she knew it deep down, but this is when she says it. It's so heartbreaking to me.

Last Season 5, we were told we'd have 2 parts with 7 episodes each. We only had one half of the season, so we were jipped with only seeing 7 episodes. What ever happened to the other 7 episodes. So are really getting the other half of season 5 & calling it season 6. It just seems like we have to wait so long anyway for the next season.
