Electric Sit-Stand desk conversion

  • This is my experience converting a manual sit/stand desk to an electric sit stand desk.
    Components:
    1. A sit/stand desk frame (ofcourse): www.monoprice.uk/collections/...

      Thanks. I am making a second one, where I am enclosing the motor within a box. a bit of insulation would supress quite a bit of noise.

    Nice, how did you calculate the force required? Do you think any consideration to mechanical advantage should be given?

      I took the Crank Handle that came with the desk and attached a spring balance to compute weight and converted it to what it would be at a centimeter. Effectively it was Kg x crank handle. I consider the torque required at the point where the machine is driving. Also kept a little extra margin.

    Sir I have Actiforce dual motor standing desk, left leg motor is damaged have to change that, but not able to get that in India.

      The amps is about 3A at maximum efficiency, while at stall it is 8A. While designing, better to take into account that the power supply accordingly.

      Sorry to hear that. Hope you had the torque measured before before getting the motor.
