8:05 That was one of the finest modulations I've heard in a piano song. SO smooth, almost unnoticeable.

Not only does he compose his own piano music, he composes a whole orchestra for many of his songs. Musical gem!

Fellow ginger. Love Tim Minchin. Growing up an Aussie--a ginger in the sunniest country, in the 80s when the standard was tans. Oy, the sunburns.

Ginger Nuts are an incredibly hard biscuit here in Australia. You can only eat them by dunking them in your tea...

Tim is a national treasure. Lol I'm biased, I had tim write some lyrics on my arm then got it tattooed. His latest is a track you should check out. Play it safe, released last year Tim was asked to write a song to celebrate the Sydney Opera house's 50th birthday...oh and ginger nuts are Australian biscuits 😂

I also have a quote of his tattooed! Unfortunately he didn’t write it himself, but a very clever friend of mine pieced it together from examples of his writing 😅

In the Australian accent we don't end words with an "R" sound. We post a lettah, try the do bettah, and season things with gingah. Tim is a singah. And incredibly talented performah.

Genius, you think he's talking about one word then hits the switch up. (He actually is singing about the other word).
Confessions is another of his that I love

Yes he’s made it very clear in interviews that he is in fact still talking about the N word the whole song. That’s why most people don’t get this song, the concept of singing in comedic metaphor goes over their heads.

It's beautiful, funny, obscene, and entirely appropriate for all ages 🤪
